I love that there are options for things like sausage and bacon that are free of undesired additives like nitrates, nitrites, and MSG. I love the number of flavor options, too! The Cajun sausage is SO GOOD. I love that they sell fresh local eggs, local honey and bee pollen, and pure heavy cream and butter with nothing else added to them. The shop is perfectly clean and all of the employees are so friendly and helpful. They all love to see our toddler when I bring him along and they treat us both with such kindness. They love to chat with him about whatever he has seen that got him excited on the way there (big truck, tractor, the goats outside, you name it). They are happy to help you carry your bags out to your car if you have a large load, and have even done so without me asking. Even after just our first time there, and more now after having been several times, I don't like to get our meat from anywhere else. You can tell that the guy who makes the breads and cookies (yes, he makes cookies, too) is really passionate about what he does. Our family frequently visits the cooler portion to grab noodles, dumplings, pie seconds and more. Just about everyone we encounter receives a Wick's Pie with their Christmas gifts. We did not eat at the restaurant, we only bought pies from the restaurant. There is a cooler section in the restaurant with a ton of frozen pie varieties. We bought sugar cream, coconut cream, and pumpkin chess (which I think is basically a sugar cream pie with pumpkin - mmmmmm!). Pie prices are super reasonable - anywhere fro $5-$9. We also bought a fresh banana cream pie that the checkout server had personally baked that morning! Love Wick's Pies and if you're within 45 mins, definitely come here to stock up.

Much of their stock comes from Henry and Wayne counties, and a fair amount of it is Amish grown. I've gotten fantastic corn, squash, tomatoes, peppers, onions and melons for great prices. I'm usually able to fill my backpack for $4-$6. The family that operates it out of their home are often likely to throw a little something extra in my bag. I'm not a card-carrying locavore, but the quality, price, and congeniality of this stand make me further distance myself from Marsh and their ilk.
