The care is affordable (they take a range of insurance providers), accessible (they'll validate parking when necessary) and attentive (they focus on you holistically). The longer review: I had experienced lower back pain for almost nine months and visited a whole range of health care providers, including a different physical therapist, a chiropractor, an acupuncturist and two primary care providers. After all this treatment, getting an x-ray that couldn't pinpoint the problem and a whole lot of what felt like arduous time spent, nothing worked to substantially reduce my pain. But when I visited Dr. Todoroff, things changed. Dr. Todoroff really listened to me to understand the source of my pain, probing all the right questions about my physical activities, general exercise regime and the form I used when doing various exercises/activities. Each session lasted about an hour and was utilized efficiently. Dr. Todoroff taught me different exercises tailored to my body, personal goals and health needs. Throughout our three sessions, his focus never shifted: my health. After each session, Dr. Todoroff emailed me instructions for each of the exercises we worked on (he was willing to provide hardcopies as well; I just preferred email), and he routinely followed up with me in-between sessions, making sure I was feeling okay with my exercise and overall health care regime. Moreover, I never felt pressured to make a follow-up appointment I didn't feel was necessary myself. Nine months after my back pain started, I'm finally pain free, and I can attribute that wholly to Dr. Todoroff. Not only that, but I feel like my overall strength/conditioning has vastly improved. Max Todorof, the owner and operator is a stand up guy. Someone who wants to educate his clients so they can use what they learn so they can become more independent in their healing process. My MCL was a wreck before coming to Max and it had gotten to where I had difficulty managing the pain in my day to day work. I can't say enough, looking back on it I just can't think of anything bad to say. One thing that I really can't stress enough though is Max is the only PT I could find that would work with my schedule. For many people, taking off in the middle of the work day is just unrealistic. I work from 8-6 most days and Max was the only guy who had hours that would work with my schedule, since I needed to have at least two appointments a week for awhile to help get my knee straightened out. I found Manual Medicine Physical Therapy after visiting a chiropractor and not seeing the results to reduce the pain in my back. I lived in downtown Raleigh and liked that Dr. Max's office is within walking distance to my place. That way I wouldn't need to take time off work to have a session. I saw Max over a 5 month period (and if I didn't move away from NC, I'd still be seeing him). My pain subsided within the first 2-3 visits. After that, Max helped build a regimen that helped strengthen my back to keep the back issues at bay and help me get healthy. Max would send me updates after every appointment on how to continue to improve my health (with exercises). What I like about Max is that he takes an interest in his patients - you get his full attention for your entire appointment time. I worked with Dr. Max Todoroff for a number of months for back pain I had following a car accident. Max is knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. He is genuinely interested in helping his patients. Max realistically presented and explained the options for my care and recovery. He works with you for the entire session, so he is making sure you are performing any exercises correctly (you are not sent off with an assistant for half the session or more, as seems to be the norm with other PT practices). He makes sure you have the resources to correctly do any therapy on your own at home in between sessions. When you look at his qualifications and the 1 on 1 attention, care, and integrity you get from being a patient of Dr. Todoroff's, you can feel 100% comfortable that you will be choosing a great physical therapist. I was referred to Dr. Todoroff by my fiance (who is a Physician Assistant). She has been very happy and complementary about the high level of care she received there. After having several sessions for a strained hamstring, I found Dr. Todoroff to be highly professional and extremely knowledgeable. He personally gives full direct attention for the entire session and explains and educates while demonstrating the various exercises and ensuring that I do them properly. He provided the information for me to confidently do the exercises at home. My hamstring improved rapidly. He follows up and ensures that all questions are answered. I saw Dr. Todoroff over a period of 4 months for rehab after I had surgery to repair a ruptured achilles tendon. I started my rehab at a different facility, but needed to find a PT closer to downtown Raleigh. Dr. Todoroff was very responsive and professional in all correspondence outside of the clinic and very knowledgeable and interactive during our sessions. If you want to go to a clinic where you are going to work with a Physical Therapist (not an assistant or tech) who will have your sole focus during your session, then I highly recommend Manual Medicine Physical Therapy. He got me on the right track to recovery and by the time I decided I could continue my therapy on my own, I was walking normally, running and was provided with detailed workouts to continue to regain full strength in my affected leg. read more

Dr. Max Todoroff is an exceptional Physical therapist. His bedside manner sets him aside from others. His patience and constant positivity have helped me both physically and emotionally while going through my neck pain. I have been to other physical therapists who rushed through my treatment and took multiple patients at once.
