It's a pretty good sized park at 3 acres and the amenities include a Playground, a half basketball Court, and plenty of Benches. It's a nice looking park, and you can tell it's been recently renovated. The paint is fresh, and the jungle gym looks safe. It's nicely landscaped, and there are sidewalks to ride your bike on, and shady areas to hang out under. Unfortunately, there's no restrooms here.

If you walk the path 4 times that equals a little bit more than a mile. There are about 7 picnic tables , no BBQ allowed. No swings or playscapes. Just a nice quiet shady park that looks to be 3 acres . There are probably no more than 8 parking spots, but I've never seen the lot full. It's just a nice place to come and chill.

I feel like this park is overlooked as it's on a street corner and small, with a tiny parking lot. But it's perfect for exercise when you don't have a lot of time, or for older people and kids. My toddler loves just going around and around. Everyone here is friendly and it's just a great place to walk, sit or have a picnic. There is no playground but why do you need one when there are tons of birds to watch and listen to.

Other amenities include lots of covered picnic tables with grills, soccer fields, paved sidewalks and trails, but no pool. Built in 2015, they also included a concessions area and public bathrooms. The well designed play scape is as good as they get and the splash pad is very popular with the small kids in the neighborhood. Not far away from the splash pad you'll also find a skate park and basketball court. Playscape was built when I was but a wee child, and all of my most fond playground memories are of me running amok among the bridges, towers, swings, slides, sandboxes, and tunnels at Playscape. If you have ever wanted to play pretend that you were in a castle, well, that's what Playscape is modeled after! They even have painted dragons and trolls on the sides (along with some other non-castle themed images) to further spike you or your child's imagination. There's lots of picnic tables and BBQ pits around the park, so you can bring a lunch or have a birthday party here and keep all the kiddos entertained and active. The only downside is that the bathrooms are disgusting. Granted, public restrooms in parks aren't known for their cleanliness, but be sure to bring hand sanitizer and scrub your kids hands down well after they use these filthy facilities. Otherwise the kids will hopefully wear themselves out of energy, get some great exercise, and be ready to come back tomorrow!

The way I took lead me down a neighborhood street, which led me straight to the park's headquarters. They had a small and very limited selection of gifts for purchase, but the park ranger there was friendly and recommended a couple of trails and points of interest. I hiked a series of trails along the outside perimeter of the park, which combined was about 3.5 miles. Each new segment had a different ecosystem and it was interesting to see different sights and hear new sounds. The trails are mostly shaded, though I went on an overcast day. There's also a low river crossing where I saw some people fishing on. At all Texas state parks, no fishing license is needed to fish. The sound of the river was soothing and refreshing. I genuinely enjoyed my time here and would love to return here to visit again someday.
