Best doctor out there that takes care of you like family and has a science-based approach combined with good common sense to handle each case. My family and I have been his patient for 8 years already and he has always been there for us at any time of the day. Recently, my dad was very sick in ICU for more than a week and Dr. abella was present through all the process helping me take the best decisions for him and making sure he was getting the best care possible by speaking with the doctors at the hospital that my dad was admitted out of the city. After several weeks and month doing test after test I had to reschedule many times cause of constant traveling due to my employment. Finally was able to schedule the Nucleur test. At which time I was informed of some cancellation charges by the staff and that Doctor refused to keep me as patient and demanaded I pay all the charges due to cancellations even though I had requested rescheduling. I also received a certified letter from the office stating the cancellation of his services. The Doctor is a god doctor and covered all the testings that I must add so was the staff I dealt with. My mother Contacted Dr. Abella, her cardiologist who She has been seeing for years (and has never been anything short of RUDE) with concerns over the covid vaccine since She is high risk and over 55 his assistant told me he would contact me later on in the day and that coincidently other patients had been reaching out with the same concerns. My 89 year old grandmother visited Manuel Abella's clinic and Miss Shakira from the front desk, incompetently registered her on the computer for February 1, but on the appointment card was given February 2. As an elder would, my grandmother followed the appt time and date as what was written. For this error and negligence of the clinic, She received a bill $ 35 to pay the clinic, for a "no show", even though I was told that since it was the offices mistake, the fee would be waived. Yet I still received a bill. When My grandmother called to to remove this fee from her account, the administrator Valeria refused to remember the incident, removed the fee but also removed my grandmother from the clinic. When asked why she had been removed, there was no explanation. When asked to speak to the manager, supervisor, she was not passed through and denied access to higher explanation. Before the situation, my grandmother was content with doctor Manuel Abella. He was very attentive and professional as a Cardiologist but his work team is totally incompetent. This doctor has the worst office staff. They have called my mother many times to cancel and rescheduled my mothers appointments. They are rude and disrespectful to the patients. One time my mother was late due to transportation issues, and the y told her that she could not see the doctor when she arrived. Last time the doctor had a emergency and had to leave. My mother and other patients waited at least an hour before they were told. I will no longer have my mom seeing him and have found another doctor. My mother had a terrible experience at this office. She saw the doctor for about 2 months and did several tests with him. The office staff scheduled an appointment for her to see the doctor only to let her know the doctor had decided to take a long weekend off when she arrived there. They told her she could see the head nurse which my mother had stated previously she did not want to visit with as she preferred to deal with the doctor directly due to her heart condition. The whole ordeal was over an hour long. The worst part is when she called the doctor directly and tell him about the bad experience (he gives patients his cell and tells them to call him to "build trust") he hung up on her. The office staff has failed to reschedule and give her the lab results she did with them. Stay away from this doctor. Even before this bad experience of patient mistreatment, the wait times are over an hour long. There are several patients waiting and they stack up so many patients that you can see several people standing outside the offices in the hall ways. This is something that should be avoided currently with COVID. The office staff clearly doesn't value the patients time or respect them and rather prefer to stack appointments to maximize profits. Again, stay away from this office. Between the terrible office staff and the unprofessional doctor himself, I would advise anyone to stay away from this place. Please don't go to this office !! My dad who suffers from dementia was a first time patient today and he was very concerned as to why the cardiologist wasn't there to see him , I asked about the tests that they do for people with heart issues !!! After a long time of answering questions , he was told to get undressed so that they can run and ekg .. Soon after that an office manager knocked on the door and asked what language we prefered Spanish or English , I said Spanish for dad !!! I thought she was the nurse that was doing the EKg , and told her we didn't ask to speak with anyone but she mentioned that the office has speakers !!! I was completely lost, she brought up if we had an issue with not seeing the dr and I explained that it would be nice to know who is seeing you ahead of time and she said the way she runs her office its either the dr or the nurse , one never knows who they will see!!! Dad was upset about this and said im not coming back after today !!! And to my shock this woman told my dad to get dressed and leave because she will not bother doing all the first time paper work for a new patient to have them not come back!! Abella Manuel has the consultation at 8200 SW 117th Ave now. I have no doubt this Doctor should be good but I recommend to find other to people with regular to busy schedules... This is offensive: waiting room is full of people waiting two or three hours for the procedure we came for... Technicians arrive hours after the first patient is scheduled and receptionist is a desperate intent to make people wait instead of informing. To make it worse they have a TV repeating Dr Abella same interview every 10 mts... While I was writing this Persantine machine broke and I have to left without the study with the nuclear med in blood... Good Dr! Terrible Billing Dept. They (Dr Abella's Office) told me all my test would be covered with the $50 Patient Visit I had 3 test and paid the $50 Visit co-payments as instructed and later receiver a bill for almost $700. When i called the insurance I was told they they mis-Billed the visits and they advised me to tell them to resubmit the visits with tests. I Spoke with Dr Abella's office manager and he did not follow correct billing procedures as instructed by the Insurance Company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. read more

Unaccessible. You always have to talk to the staff. Non-responsive to patient's needs. I was referred to him for an altered EKG, then I made him my primary doctor just to have everything in one place. WRONG DECISION! Although I had explained all my ailments since my first visit, taking them results of previous tests and pictures, they concentrated on the heart issue. Then after conducting regular pro-operative tests for a selective surgery, they reacted to what I was telling them from the beginning, giving me a referral for an Urology. However, due to my family cancer history, I made an appointment with a gynecologist-oncologist on my own. She requested a routine sonogram test before my appointment with her. She said my primary Dr. had to issue that order. Dr. Heart's office gave me the hardest time, to approve that simple request, and finally FLAT refused to issue the order, even when I had checked with the insurance company and they said that was a normal procedure and that they would pay for it. I could never talk to the Doctor or get an straight answer for their refusal, however their office manager, Valeria, when I confronted her about her misrepresentation of facts to the oncologist/gynecologist's secretary about that I had never mentioned that particular ailment to them, totally refused to keep our conversation going and/or give me a reasonable explanation for their refusal, cutting off our telephone conversation. read more

I was seen by both Dr. Abella and Maria Tamayo, ARNP. Both seemed to be truly knowledgeable and interested in helping me with my condition.
