Dr. Almeida broke our hearts. My husband and I were his patients for 25+ years and never minded the long wait for him because he has always been very caring and attentive. However, when Covid came around and we chose not to receive and experimental "vaccines" until we knew more about them, he first said it was OK, that it was our choice. However, when we got Covid, he outright called us stupid for not having gotten the jab and just told us to go to the hospital. We asked him about alternative treatments and he repeated that we were stupid not to get "vaccinated". As it turns out, all the vaccinated people ended up getting Covid, too, and even dying, because the shots did not prevent Covid nor did they stop the transmission of it. Many, many people I know who've gotten the shots have developed all kinds of autoimmune and circulatory issues, including strokes, and have even come out of remission from cancer and even died after being in remission for years. But none of that seems to matter to Dr. Almeida. We were judged harshly by him and treated like second class citizens when we needed him. When we left his practice over a year and a half ago, he never even noticed; and if he did, he has never reached out. We will always wish him well, but I'm still heart-broken about this as we truly cared for him and he let this disgusting vaccine agenda cloud his judgment and treatment of long-time patients. read more

I've been here a few times already and even though the Dr is very personable and knowledgeable, the wait times really overshadow the experience once you meet him. Dr. Almeida has been my primary care physician and nephrologist for as long as I can remember! I'd say it's been about 8 years or so. Let me start by saying.... Yes! You will have a long wait! It doesn't matter what day or what time you go, it's always busy! BUT, I guarantee you that it's well worth the wait! He is friendly, personable and caring. His staff is pleasant and helpful. Dr. Almeida is very knowledge and has access to just about anything you can think of that will work for you! I myself have multiple medical issues that he alone has been most helpful with. Dr. Mario Almeida is among the top in Primary Care and Internal Medicine- not jiust locally, but in the U.S.. He truly cares about his patients and is an excellent diagnostician- he is an extremely bright individual. He takes your health and well-being seriously, taking his time with you during your appointment, while listening carefully to your concerns. His medical expertise and caring spirit has also been demonstrated in emergency situations. He has been there for me, my mother, and my father (who wasn't even his patient previously before being hospitalized) always going that extra mile for his patients. My father was in the hospital for almost one year, and he did all in his power to heal him- never losing hope. One thing- when you make an appointment to see Dr. Almeida, be prepared to wait a while. He is a really busy Dr.- but he will see you and take care of you-- he will make sure that your health is in check (getting whatever tests approved if needed) and he is very well-connected and respected in the medical community- knows who are the best specialists to treat you. Dr. Almeida is amazing. Yes the wait times are long and you practically need to either take the day or get a late appointment but it's worth it. He's honest, direct and very experienced. Also, and probably more importantly, he takes his time and doesn't rush you out the door. Probably the main reason wait times are long. I would recommend him anytime. read more

I had a stroke and was released from baptist hospital 4 days later. The first time they did not see stroke the second time they saw it. It was small thank god. But when released I kept on feeling heat flashes and my brain felt tired could not think went back to ER main and nothing found they kept on saying it was anxiety. After twice ER and once Floating ER . The second time floating ER said my sodium was low. Sent me from west Kendal floating ER transport to doctors hospital baptist . This is when they told me I was going into critical care and was going to be assigned Neuphrologist Dr Almeida. When I heard the name I asked Mario Almeida?? They said yes!!! He had been my husband and my primary for many years , I had not seen him in 20 years due to work situation I switch Dr and we didn't see again. I have returned to him being my primary!! He is great, caring, and gets to the bottom of things. He was there making sure all went right while I was on special IV treatments he read my records and noticed my sodium was going down since I was at hospital and no one said anything. He made sure they would not release me until he saw my sodium levels were at tge right levels not caring what hospital admin said. He lobbies for his patients and will not release until he is assured that patient is well!!! His professional nurse is also great!!! She came to visit me at hospital in mornings and dr Almeida always came at night never missed a day to pop in and make sure I was okay!!!! The wait is worth the great care given !!! read more

I recently moved from California to Florida. I was concerned about who I would get as my main physician. I couldn't have been luckier to be Dr. Almeida's patient. The doctor is good but the administration in his office is awful, I moved recently so for my visit I drove an hour and a half with my two kids 3and 1 yrs old, they left me waiting for more than two hours almost three and didn't care, I ask several times how much longer, but they didn't answer. Is very sad that a good doctor has such an awful personal, actually I leave the office without seeing him. And no one apologizes for the inconvenience. Such a waste of time and money. read more
