Had Saturday brunch after wanting to eat here for so long but it didn't live up to expectations. What's good about Manuka? The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is very classy and enjoyable. It nails the "brunch with the girls" vibe (I was the only guy and every other table was a group of girls). There's a curtain on the door to the entrance which is nice. Also, my girlfriend and the other clients seemed to all really enjoy their meals. Tip: the eggs on top of hashbrowns was incredible (perfect portion and taste). The hashbrowns actually tasted more similar to Spanish potato tortillas (which I love)! What I didn't like? My pancakes! I ordered blueberry pancakes which was a mistake for two reasons. 1) I wasn't starving and the portions where big (three fluffy thick pancakes) and 2) they were really dry (and still a bit flour-y). We were sitting next to the open kitchen (which is also a positive that they have that) but I heard the chef complaining about everyone asking for extra maple syrup. Regrettably... I had to ask for extra maple syrup. The meal would be so much better if they provided that to start with and if I hadn't felt so awkward ordering it. I'm going to come back and try a different meal. I feel like Manuka deserves a 4/5 and I just didn't order the right meal... read more

This place is so tiny that we decided to book a table for 3 people for brunch. But when we arrived, it was full and we had to wait for someone to leave... One of my friend was in a hurry because she had an appointment after brunch, so we informed the staff and they were very nice and took special care of her order. So, I guess they made up for the waiting ;) About the food : we took the blueberries pancakes and GOD, they are soooooo fluffy, soooo big ! It was hard to eat them all (but we succeeded, of course) and you can ask for more maple syrup if needed. It's a great place to try, but be sure to choose the right moment and don't try to go there with too many people ! read more

This is a cozy and elegant spot outside of the tourist areas in London. Our friends that live in London brought us here and we loved it. We started with the honey salmon which was divine. My husband ordered the pork belly and loved it. I had the bolognese and it was amazing. We also ordered cocktails and I wish I could remember the names because they were some of the best we had on our trip. The staff were so kind as well. A great spot and a lovely little "off the beaten path" place to grab dinner if you are a tourist. read more

I'm a great fan of local restaurants and loved to support new business. This place just opened up two weeks ago and did not disappoint. They had a brunch menu available which just looked yummy! Unfortunately I was there for lunch and had to get just a small plate. I had their Bone Marrow/ Saffron Arranciata which were cooked perfectly, well formed and crispy on the outside. I then had the spicy shrimp Caesar salad. Excellent shrimp cooked in some type of chili paste was a great hit of heat with the cold ceasar salad served with a fried egg on top which gave the added sauce to the cold lettuce. The name Manuka coincides with the fact that they serve Manuka honey with their hot drinks. The restaurant is small but great for a light lunch of brunch and definitely fills up during the weekend for brunch. Not sure if they have a different dinner menu. I will be coming back soon to try more. read more

Situated on noisy Fulham road, this little gem does a great weekend breakfast. Even better that you can actually book it for breakfast. There are tables outside and the sun hits that side of the road in the morning. Great French toast (baguette) with well-cooked, not crispy, bacon, half banana (with a crunchy caramelised coating) and maple syrup. I ordered a side of baguette with the namesake Manuka honey which was delicious. There is a good mix of sweet and savoury on the menu, and lots of things beyond eggs. Unfortunately a terrible caffè latte, despite the Italian barista. read more

The best brunch in Fulham without a doubt. Lovely, friendly service, reasonably priced and if it's sunny you can sit outside. Dinner is also worth checking out. Nice vibe all week and they'll always try and squeeze you in. read more

Came here for dinner on a recommendation from a friend who adores their brunch and cocktails. We arrived on a quiet Saturday evening (which we're told is very unusual) for a spontaneous dinner out. The atmosphere was casual and friendly, but felt like it could easily be a place for a romantic dinner date as well. The menu was quite interesting and I wanted to try all the pesce and vegetarian options! We had a crispy squid starter, which was cooked very well. For the main I went with the gnocchi with the crispy fennel and parmesan after noticing it was homemade (seriously, I've NEVER had a bad experience with freshly made gnocchi!). And it. Was. Delicious. The texture was soft, chewy, and the flavour filled your senses. The fennel worked really well with the dish, adding a bit of sweetness. The portions are surprisingly generous. You don't get massive plates and it doesn't look like you were given a lot, but as we ate, both of us found that we were actually quite full. In fact, we just couldn't fit dessert in! The staff were very friendly, and I think because it was a bit quieter that night, the owner came over and asked about our meal and chatted with us briefly, which was a nice touch to end the evening. But from what my friend said, sometimes he does make an appearance to chat with people, so maybe it's just a nice personal thing they do from time to time! So, good food, good space, good people. Slow service, uninterested staff, food took forever to come. The cafe itself, is great, high ceiling, great vibe, you can see right into the kitchen and the pass. The food is mixed; their home-cured salmon is phenomenal and also phenomenally over-priced. The full breakfast is good, but not great. The place seems to love itself a little bit. Overall, its very expensive and not that super-wonderful, but in Fulham Broadway, it is a gem. read more

Manuka Kitchen is great! We've been before for dinner, which was excellent but today we came for breakfast. Delicious! I had the salmon and feta omelette and John had the french toast - both were excellent. I'm not a big coffee drinker so opted for the hot chocolate - yummy! I decided to check out Manuka Kitchen since I live around the corner. This was the first brunch restaurant I went to since moving to London from Pennsylvania. This place was packed (!) when I arrived at 11am, but the manager politely asked if I was willing to wait for 15 minutes. I happily obliged, but there was no waiting area inside the restaurant so I had to wait outside on the street. To make up for this, the manager got me a drink and a menu while I waited outside (good service and very polite). I was seated after 5 min (yay!), and the food arrived within the next 5 min. The food did not disappoint- the avocado, red quinoa feta, and mint on sourdough were very delicious and refreshing! The side dish, smoked middle bacon, was OK but not crispy enough in my opinion (but that's just because I'm too used to eating the crispy American-styled bacon). I was slightly disappointed by the flat white, though- with £2.95 for a cup of flat white, I think the coffee was literally 'flat' and wasn't aromatic at all. Overall, I'll be back again to try out other dishes. read more

A friend told me about this little restaurant in Fulham. I went tonight for dinner and it did not disappoint. The food is simple but god damn, it is tasty. The goats cheese curd crostini is phenomenal, especially with the very quaffable organic white wine. My steak for main course was cooked to perfection and had so much flavour to it. For dessert we had some brie with marinated apricots, and also the brûlée which were both very good. I had a meal at Dinner by Heston the day before, and this blew Heston out of the water. The service is very warm and attentive. I chatted to one of the owners called Joseph, and you can really feel the love and passion that's goes into creating a place like this. I really hope this place gets popular enough for this to be a staple amongst the Fulham crowd (and the rest of London), yet also still gets me a reservation easily! It's so refreshing to dine at a restaurant like this with so much potential and at a fair price. Just go and try it out, and let these risk takers give you opportunity to show you a bloody good night. Finally had a chance to venture out into the West after hearing about this Kiwi brunch place in Fulham - being an antipodean myself I thought it would be a nice place to try! The restaurant definitely has a casual laid back vibe which really appeals to me! I ordered the Hash Browns Avocado Harrissa poached eggs with curly kale. Sounded great on paper however the hash browns tasted slightly bland and texture was more like stodgy pieces of mashed potato ( i would say McDonalds does better hash browns). A BIG thumbs up for to the coffee - which tasted alot better than any of the chains. May need to go back to see if dinner is any better and to try the Manuka creme brulee (only dish with any relation to NZ)! read more

Living locally, we have been coming here since it opened and seen the place go from strength to strength, the brunch is out of this world good, with the lightest fluffiest blueberry pancakes, amazing corn fritters with red peppers and avo and eggs. Dropped in for Sunday brunch. Our table of four got seating within a few minutes. A very relaxing environment and attentive staff. I had the French toast and substituted the grilled banana for blueberries - it was delicious. The spiced honey sauce drizzled over the top made the dish! We live nearby and eat here regularly. It was already good to begin with but has steadily gotten better over the months and it's just incredible value for the quality and effort that goes into the food. Everything is good, but the meatball sandwich is a particular favorite, as are the pancakes. The manager and chef are truly lovely people who've taken a big gamble opening their own restaurant in a difficult spot and I hope they continue to make a success of it. The only thing I don't love are the glasses - I know its trendy to use a water tumbler, but wine just tastes better in a wine glass... read more
