So excited to find a used book store in Craig with a great selection…read more Black Friday was my first time in. Colorful friendly senior staff I found engaging and humorous. Purchased 4 books and looking forward to the entertainment. I have many books from popular authors and after my experience I was looking forward to donating. Being 100 miles from home. I make the trip about once a month. I stopped by this Sat excited to pass the books on so others could enjoy. The owner seemed reluctant when I explained I had brought books that we discussed a few weeks before. It seemed a chore and she was doing me a favor. Despite the change in demeanor from our last meeting I chose to proceed not letting on I was donating and was not going to accept the in-store credit. She seemed unimpressed with cache(3 boxes) but reluctantly offer $40 in store credit. Most books were .50 some were a dollar. My previous visit I spent $40 on 3 books ( good books worth the money) .When I questioned the minimal amount she offered I was informed its all on the website. Then I was informed that the store credit was only good for a week. I was taken back by the change in attitude from our previous encounter. I did take a medium coffee in exchange for the books. This was more than I was planning. I did share with her that I will not be back even though I had thought I found my new favorite spot to get away. No good deed goes unpunished some say. I was so excited about the donation and in the end I felt used. This will be the last time I think about this and am looking forward to finding my next favorite place but will think twice before engaging beyond just being a customer. Reread found my profile says California with other mistakes ( to funny). It wont let me change so to clarify I live in Kremmling and I am a male and comfortable in being one.

Cool Water Grille…read more Wow. Just wow. We were coming through Craig and this seemed to be the only place to get breakfast, so we stopped. It is a "seat yourself" kind of place, so we found a seat and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, the server, who was a very young girl, brought us our menus. She asked what we wanted to drink and, about 10 minutes later, finally brought us our drinks. 10 minutes later still, she finally returned to take our order. It was as if she was the owner's daughter and was working there against her wishes. She was not pleasant, competent or speedy. Aside from her, the place was crawling with flies. It was disgusting. We finally got our orders. I had ordered the chicken fried steak with soft scrambled eggs, hash browns and sourdough toast. It's pretty bad when the toast was the best thing on the plate. The chicken fried steak was clearly a frozen patty that was thrown into the fryer. The hash browns were dry and flavorless and didn't seem like they were prepared to order. And, clearly the chef has never heard of SOFT scrambled eggs because they were hard as a rock (and completely inedible). The other members of our party received a slightly better experience - the Denver omelet was "decent" and the pancakes were really good. We ordered coffee and never once received a refill (nor did we get any ice water). When we went to pay, to add insult to injury, they have the nerve of charging a 4% credit card fee. As someone who's run restaurants, let me tell you - this is a tax-deductible cost of doing business that should NEVER be passed on to the customer. So, if you're in Craig, you could do a lot better for your meal. It's unfortunate because I love supporting small mom and pop operations.
