This is my fiance and I's first time ever coming to a bed and breakfast, and I am convinced that I will never step foot into a hotel ever again after the hospitality Mike and Nancy showed us! This was a perfect getaway for our anniversary, and the breakfast was so special! Nancy started you out with assorted beverages in their cute custom Maple Leaf Inn ceramic mugs, and a chocolate muffin which was light and not too sweet (best one I've ever had). Next course was a banana with a lemon caramel sauce(delicious). The savory course was a poached egg on top of lentils and roasted tomatoes on top of polenta. We stayed in the Morning Glory room which had a soaking tub for two(I enjoyed this every day) with complimentary herbal bath salts. The bathroom also had radiant floor heating which was a very nice touch on cold Vermont mornings. Our bed had a pillowtop, with amazingly soft silky sheets. I wanted to take them home with me! The room also had a nice flat screen TV with two reclining wing back chairs. Mike and Nancy also offer one complimentary beer or wine every night, which was very nice. Not to mention the library with assorted older books, easy reads, and old romantic movies! Their dog, Beckit also was very fun to play with. The value- I paid 155 for one night (which is also the deposit when you book), and during the week during off peak season you get the second night at 50% off! naturally, we stayed a second night. Who could pass that up? With all the small touches that this place offers, I felt like royalty. This place is seriously like no place I have ever been, they made my fiance and I feel like family, I cant wait to come again! read more

Relaxing, Beautiful attention to detail is unbelievable. The innkeepers are lovely and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Tea and coffee was available all day and was definitely a plus because it was freezing. The rooms were clean and attention to detail was fantastic. Comfortable bed. If I could give 10 stars I would. My husband and I compare every B&B we go to to this one. The Inn Keeppers were the best ever! They had a movie collection to borrow from. We had a huge soaking tub in our room. We had a fireplace in our room, a TV, VCR and could control the AC ourselves. They also have WIFI access and a bunch of board games you can play. The breakfast was sensational. The nwhen we were leaving, they had a care package for us to send us on our way...a bag of neatly wrapped hot homemade chocolate chip cookies. read more

Great bed & breakfast about ten miles north of Woodstock, VT. A fabulous place to get away from it all. We stayed for two nights in February and had some of the most relaxing days we've had in a while. We read books by the fire both in the living room and in the bedroom (something we can't do in our apartment outside of Boston) and enjoyed not having cell service for a change, though they do have free Wi-Fi so that you can still be in touch. Mike and Nancy made us feel at home and cook a delicious breakfast. Plus they offer sweet treats and a glass of wine if you happen to be around in the afternoon. Can't wait to go back. read more

Mike and Nancy are the best, and the inn is ornate, clean, and comfy. Small, intimate, and stocked with every need we could think of. Mike & Nancy clearly pride themselves in running a world class b&b. We stayed in the Spring Hollow room, which had a wood burning fire place and a tub that (kind of) fits 2 people, and a sweet king sized bed, and HEATED BATHROOM FLOORS. Nancy made some killer eggs, waffles, and multi-grain pancakes. They have a sweet dog, Beckett, who loves getting pats on her back. Well worth the 45 minute drive from Killington to a) get away from the crowds; b) get a way nicer place to stay (sorry Killington, most of your accommodations are a bit run down...). Beautiful and cute B&B near Woodstock Vermont! It was just what I was looking for for a nice and relaxing weekend away. Their rooms were beautiful and had all that we needed (the sheets were some of the best I have ever experienced). The hot tub and heated tile floors also made my day. The service was great. The owners prepared a delicious breakfast every morning and also paid a lot of attention to detail. They provided a glass of wine in the evenings, and left small gifts like chocolate, a watterbottle, a pen, and even Vermont maple syrup. I would definitely come back here- hopefully during Fall Foliage! read more

Truly gorgeous bed and breakfast. Since I first started this review (almost 2 years ago...), I have stayed an additional 2 times and have another visit planned in the late winter. Needless to say, I am hooked! The innkeepers (Mike & Nancy) are very friendly and accommodating, and keep the inn in immaculate shape. Everything is kept up as far as cleanliness and repairs. I always get a great night's sleep because it's so quiet (being somewhat in the middle of nowhere, at least for this New Yorker) and the king-size beds are incredibly comfortable. And if your room has a fireplace, Mike supplies new kindling and firewood every afternoon so you can have a fire every night you're there! And they give you nifty souvenirs for the nights you're there. As far as the breakfast part, Nancy takes pastry and other cooking classes at King Arthur's, so the breakfasts are always delicious and very well-crafted. Additionally, there are fresh baked goods and beer or wine waiting for you in the afternoons. They're also really great at the extras: restaurant recommendations (Barnard Inn is a must-try!), advice about attractions in the area (Sugarbush farms) and they even lend you snow shoes for the trail you can follow from their back yard. Unbelievable! Maple Leaf inn is unpretentious yet finely executed. Great location as an anchor point to sites and scenes around the vermont area. The breakfast is handcrafted, great, and explained as its served. The innkeepers also do a great job making the place seem 'brand new', fresh, and cozy upon arrival. We came to vermont specifically for other places in the area but will end up remembering this place the most. read more

What an amazing romantic two-day stay in the Autumn room of Maple Leaf Inn last week! From warm welcoming at the door by Mike and Nancy to saying our goodbyes on the day we left our stay was simply perfect. Our room on the second floor was absolutely adorable: wood fireplace, fantastically comfortable bed and linens, cozy environment - we instantly felt at home. The owners, Mike and Nancy, are warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful. They give 120% to all of their guests. The Maple Leaf Inn is probably the most beautiful inns we have ever stayed at. We are definitely returning for another great vacation very soon. read more

Here's what I found to be the best things about this little B&B: 1) unpretentious yet comfortable, exclusive and an upscale feel 2) the warm, homemade muffins that come out of the oven every morning with your breakfast and 3) lack of cellular service in the house. Only landlines available. We were able to make last minute reservations and stayed two nights. Woodstock is a short drive away and the surrounding landscape is just breathtaking. The air in our room was a little stuffy, but that was my only complaint. Nice jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, comfy beds with lots of soft pillows and even direct TV (for those that want to watch TV on vacay - not me.) I wasn't a huge fan of all the breakfast items. Skip the sausages if you can and ask for a second helping of the homemade pancakes and muffins. Both amazing. Also, the OJ didn't taste fresh. I'd skip that too. Overall, great time - the owners are super friendly, helpful and very gracious hosts. Will definitely come back if we're ever in VT. read more

I have to say, this place really is full of small comforts...this was our getaway destination for our honeymoon in February. To be completely honest I wanted to feel about this place inside of myself, the way it appeared to me physically AT FIRST. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that we don't travel much, we were very run down from the wedding AND then the long drive up from New York but when we first arrived we had a little bit of a hard time getting comfortable- again we are not used to traveling AND we happened to be the only guests on that Monday-wed that we stayed (off season). I couldn't wrap my head around the feeling of being in somebody's home and the unfamiliarity of it all- I came to discover that bed and breakfasts are very different from hotels. We felt really weird the first day and night when we arrived-despite the fact that it was immaculate, warm, cozy and full of every little comforting detail you can imagine. I guess we couldn't shake the feeling that we had invaded this place in some way it was VERY ODD. It may also be that we were in the middle of nowhere and scared the crap out of each other discussing Whitley Striebers book "COMMUNION" while driving there and were convinced we would be abducted by aliens in these great north woods at this quiet bed and breakfast (our first ever experienced by the way). Then the next morning all of that changed- We got to know Mike a Nancy a bit, and the breakfast they made us was mouthwatering beyond belief. Nancy made us maple pecan scones that explode with flavor and had a slight crunchy sugar texture on the top- one of the best baked items I have ever had in my life. After that we had FRESH pineapple's with blackberry's followed by A BREAKFAST PIZZA!!! OMG it was insanely creative and also delicious. If we were not stuffed to the brim we would have asked for more. AND we ate all of this in our pajamas in the dining room. This made us feel at home, Mike Nancy turned out to be pretty awesome and we were able to quickly shed off our feeling of being out of place. In fact,The ONLY issue I had with this entire place was that the bed was just to soft for my liking- the sheets were like baby kitten soft which was delightful but the actual mattress became uncomfortable after a little while ( i have a sensitive back). It was hard for me to sleep well but this is just a matter of preference- I know to ask for a room with a less squishy bed. If you love squishy THIS IS YOUR ROOM ( the winter room) Overall we loved our stay here and will be back for sure. Nancy was an unbelievable cook and Mike keeps that place tip top all of the time. They have a weird sense of humor just like us and by the time we left we felt very at home- and sorry to leave. things I loved ?: -the coffee/tea bar they set up with everything imaginable on it AWESOME -the sheets -the food -the decor -the closet with the fridge full of sodas and the pillow and towel stock -the heated floors -a zillion channels on the TV and easy chairs that recline (some newly weds we are right? watching the history channel in recliners when we should be doing the deed lol) NOW we understood why everybody raves about this place. It was beautiful and run impeccably AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE we WILL BE BACK if not just for those damned scones!!! ;) read more

While this B&B is beautiful and there are lots of nice touches to it, the owners are not very friendly and leave a lot to be desired. Five of my friends and I stayed there in mid August 2011 while on a biking tour through Vermont. The setting is beautiful and the B&B well-maintained, but a couple of things about the owners rubbed me the wrong way: 1) The owners employ a young Romanian woman as a housekeeper. It really turned mne off when they referred to her as their "slave." While they may have been kidding, this comment was very inappropriate. 2) We had to leave the B&B the next morning at 7am. Breakfast here is usually served ~8:30am, but we thought that the owners could at least prepare something for our group to eat. Not only did they not offer to prepare breakfast for us, they didn't give us any break on the price when it came time to settle the bill. There are plenty of beautiful B&Bs in Vermont. If you're looking for a B&B where the owners make you feel welcome and value your business, stay elsewhere. read more

Absolutely amazing B&B! My girlfriend and I spent a weekend here and could not have been more pleased. It's about a 15 minute drive from woodstock, set back from the road a bit. The rooms are immaculate and unbelievably comfortable. Mike and Nancy immediately make you feel at home and are so friendly and generous. Breakfast was fantastic both mornings and we were stuffed to the gills. I'm not one to return to vacation spots very often but the Maple Leaf is just too amazing not to experience again! read more

One of the best B&B's I've ever stayed in. Quiet. Had a fireplace, wonderful, and a really comfortable bed. Terrific Jacuzzi style tub. Owners were so nice and helpful with everything. Hiked in the woods to the rear. Had a great time. Recommend highly. No traffic noise whatsoever and only a 12 minute drive to noisy downtown Woodstock. read more

Mike and nancy could not make you feel anymore at home than they do. The rooms are comfy and homey and the breakfast is to die for! Had blueberry pancakes,bacon and fresh fruit with yogurt that was all incredible. They are an amazing team. Every night a new treat on our pillows. Take our word, you want to stay here. read more

This is a very nice B&B. The breakfasts were pretty good. It is kind of in the middle of no-where. So if you're looking for a "get-away", this is a good choice. But just know that your options are limited. This goes for dining too. Max's down the street is really good, but anything else worth trying is going to be a bit of a drive. We had a third floor room which never quite got cold enough (this was July), but I'm sure 10 months out of the year this isn't a problem in VT. The owners are very friendly and helpful. read more

We stayed for six nites in the Summer Retreat room while our friends stayed a floor above us. The inn is clean, comfortable and well-appointed. We all enjoyed our stay! Nancy and Mike felt like old friends by the time we left. They greeted us each time we returned from our day's travels and seemed genuinely interested in what we did. Mike suggested several good restaurants as well as things to see and do. My husband developed some neck pain and Mike provided a heating pad as well as some Salonpas, which helped. Beckett, their dog, was a bonus! She is well-behaved and available for play. The breakfasts were incredible and carried us to dinner most days. Nancy is an accomplished baker who willingly shared recipes and provided seconds for anyone who had room. We've stayed at many B and Bs and the Maple Leaf Inn is definitely one of our favorites! read more

This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at The Maple Leaf Inn over the course of two years. Why do we come back? The Maple Leaf Inn is a pristine property nestled in the lovely Barnard area. The rooms are charming and immaculate. The laid back inn keepers are well versed in how to keep their guests happy: home made cookies, free WIFI, an afternoon glass of wine or beer, and each night, little gifts are left for you to find as you return from your day. The breakfast hour ( and it is an hour 8:30 - 9:30!) is worth getting up for. 3 delightful courses which vary day to day. All in all, you feel pampered and rested. read more

This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and Mike and Nancy made it an amazing experience! We stayed in the Autumn Woods room which had a fireplace, which was flanked by two wing chairs and a king size (incredibly comfortable) bed! The small special touches like chocolates on the nightstand, Vermont syrup on the pillows and personalized attention made this one of the best trips we have ever taken!
