I visited this clinic for the first time today. This clinic has been recommended to me about 5 times recently by happy clients. Dr. DeWayne Baugus spent time with me listening and asking questions to best determine where the focus needed to be for my treatment. He was very thorough and I had a very professional experience. I also had pain relief in my knee when I walked out, so that exceeded my expectation for a first visit. I noticed that Dr. Baugus had served in the Army and I thanked him for his service. He was very knowledgeable and I have another appointment on Monday. read more

Dr. Dewayne and his wife are the most compassionate people. I suffer from a rare genetic disorder that causes intractable chronic pain and PTSD. I've gone in there in tears and they always make me feel better because they are so empathetic to their patients needs. Very affordable 15/10 stars read more

I have never had acupuncture before but I have migraines a couple of times per month and thought it was worth a try. Deana is very invested in each patient and is genuinely caring. I've been to her office a few times now in the past two weeks and so far so good! Very affordable too! read more

We have administered over 26,000 treatments in the last 6 years of ownership. Patients travel from Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri for specific needs. As a Veteran Owned and operated business, we take a special interest in treating PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. We are trained in Hospital rehabilitation through the residency program offered at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Sarasota, FL. focused on Knee, Hip and Shoulder repair/replacement, stroke and traumatic brain injury. This includes extensive studies in the combination of both Eastern and Western medicine. The Acupuncturist also has a background in the Military as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical warfare instructor, previously a professor at East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL.

History

Established in 2011.

Maplebrook was established in 2011 by Deanna Connors as a private acupuncture practice. By 2012 the business structure was changed to community acupuncture and became a part of the POCA (People's Organization for Community Acupuncture, Oregon) network. This has changed the patient flow tremendously and were able to keep the doors open. In 2018 DeWayne and Ildi purchased the business and made it to what it is today.

Meet the Business Owner: DeWayne B.

DeWayne Baugus AP, DOM, LMT is a graduate of East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL, where he received his Bachelor of Professional Health Sciences and his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. DeWayne is a Licensed Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida as well as a licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). He has been practicing since 2006. During this time, Dr. Baugus has administered over 26,000 individual acupuncture and over 6000 massage therapy treatments. He created a talk show focusing on alternative and Integrative medicine (FL), while maintaining integrative practices with both Physical Therapy and Chiropractic offices, while helping the educational community system as a board member of the Education Oversight Committee. Dr. Baugus is also a US Army Combat Veteran, where he studied training, psychology and development for the government. He was tasked to develop the training system that all soldiers now have to complete before deploying overseas.

That may be ok for a stay-at-home mom with a morning appointment, but I work a pretty demanding job, and I need to know my availability better than this office provides. That would be the reason I would not use Dr. Rapp again.
