I've played here several times now. I return because I enjoy the feel of the place and it's affordable with a cart. The last time I played, the greens were fast and my drives went a lot further. The downside is that the course definitely needs more water, I can imagine that the greens get really difficult when it's the peak of summer heat with little rain. The sand traps on several holes need some major work. They are over weeded with some marked ground under repair. It's priced appropriately for the condition of the course. read more

Went out on Sunday 6/20/21. Golfed 12 holes in 4 hours ridiculous, slow play, this course has No course management, people spending 5 minutes looking for golf balls. zero golf etiquette, people sitting in the fairway with no one on the green. left after 13 holes. Stay away unless you have a hole day to waste. sand traps rock hard. Lucky the cost is low, just play in your backyard. read more

Average course, but the way this establishment is run needs to be changed immediately. Arrived 15 min early for a 2:45 tee time and ended up waiting an hour and 45 min for a cart. The older man running everything was completely wasted at 2pm (openly drinking beers) and couldn't remember anyone's tee time/information--absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Only giving it one star because I was a fan of the giant sandtrap. ALSO, my cart ran out of gas at hole 13..... read more

The locals call this Maple Rock. The fairways are not watered. In fairness the course has some interesting holes including a 600 something yard par 5 and is priced fairly for the quality of the course. The greens are in pretty good condition and are fast. The food in the restaurant is pretty good with a fish fry on Fridays. read more

This was a nice course, lots of fun holes and some crazy sand traps. Wish they had more water holes but overall it's nice! Overall I really enjoyed the place, nice staff and greens were well kept up. I think that this course would be great for anyone of all ages. Check it out! read more

Club House: Great food (including Friday fish fry). The pro shop is more of a small retail store. The people that work there are not pros, but they are as helpful as possible. It is not fancy, but it is very comfortable and has a couple of big screen TVs so you can watch the golf channel after your done playing. Course: Beautiful course with watered fairways. While the greens get a lot of use (and abuse sometimes) they are fast and roll true. The Sand Traps need some TLC (but remember this is a county course), and there are times when play is slow. Over all, Pets is a great course for the person that just plainly enjoys the game. They have multi tee boxes that make if fun at any level. Slow down, take a breath, see the beautiful state park around you and hit them straight. I love playing at pets, to me the best of the county golf courses in Kenosha.

I understand that aeration needs to be done, but the greens that were not aerated were poorly maintained and lacked consistent surfaces. There were depressions on the greens from previous pin locations. The fairways were inconsistent with poor grass conditions. The bunkers were wet and solid and some were sand-less. Landscaping looked shoddy. Entire course was badly in need of water. The people were very friendly and the pace (on a Friday morning) was good. But these did not make up for a crappy course. We will not be back anytime soon.

The menu was prime rib (with gravy and horseradish sauce), sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, apple bread stuffing, carrots, rolls, dutch apple pie and more. We were able to order a few a la carte items to go along with it (hard apple cider, extra sides etc). It was plenty of food and our family loved everything. They included easy instructions for reheating in the oven so on Christmas our house still smelled like all the delicious food (without all the work!). The entertainment was great, and there were no serious injuries. Racine County Fair does a great job with the entertainment and vendors; walking through the barns and seeing all the animals and artwork is fun, especially if you're bringing kids. Getting to the Grandstand area early would be my advice if you plan on seeing a show. Get there at least 30 minutes before it starts, or you'll likely be frustrated with finding a place to sit. They sell ear protection for kids, which is wonderful for those who forget theirs at home. My advice? Bring your own because everything gets loud, and you'd be well-advised to bring ear protection.
