I do not know if it was just Discover doing that or Marathon, because I use a Discover card; however, I found that to be insane! Anytime I buy from Shell it is usually a $1.00 hold and then it charges me the exact amount. Because of this dilemma, my credit limit is kind of bogged down (I set a pretty low credit limit on my Discover. $90! I actually thought for a minute that I got skimmed!
