I'm a Sam's club is greater than Costco advocate. I love both - and they have a lot of the exact same stuff but Sam's has better pricing across the board. I did price comparisons on toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen, pantry, staples, seasonings, and meat and Sam's Club beat Costco every time. Around the holidays, I love to get the massive wrapping paper roll and bonus points if you get it the day after Christmas for 50% off. I literally used a roll for 10 years and just finished it. My kids are gonna be sad that we have new wrapping paper next year. read more

Very busy location. Some good deals, and some not so good. Some snack boxes were good price - some are much cheaper at the Dollar General. I couldn't find the canned vegetables. This is the best member warehouse to purchase items in bulk. I frequent the food items the most. I use a majority of the items to stock concession stand fundraising. It's also a nice place to grab an inexpensive snack, too. The prices are so low that there is always a long line at the indoor cafe. You can get a slice of pizza and a drink for less than $3, and there other amazing items on the menu. They need more employees to work the counter due to its popularity. There are several paths to checking out: cashier, self-check out, and app checkout. I use the app check out to avoid the lines. You can scan the items as you shop and pay online. Be prepared to have your receipt checked before leaving the store. The employee scans online receipts and marks paper receipts. Also, there is plenty of parking and a pick up bay for retrieving larger purchases. read more

The only reason why I'm only giving 3 stars is because of the stocking situation! I've got an idea store Mgr! Why not have stock crews stock before the store is open? To think that customers could navigate through the aisles without worrying about pallets being in the way, would be an idea. Kinda like it use to be before workers became lazy. I have to say Walmart on Starshoot pkwy is finally getting all the stock on their shelves before the door opens. Bryan station Krogers is a hot mess. Publix is coming to Lexington soon. Of the two local Sam's, this one is probably the more accessible location, but also an annoying shopping center that's not the easiest to turn into and out of. I find the gas station usually has a line, and the store itself is pretty big but didn't have a ton of things I actually wanted. The other big shopping clubs seem to have a bit more in terms of healthier food (whole grains, nuts and beans, vegetables). Not to mention, I couldn't even find a mouthwash with alcohol here, which is hard to believe. I've got my club membership for gas, but it isn't saving me a ton of money and I don't find much other value in it. read more

I've had a membership here for years, my go to hear is paper products. They always have the brand and price that is cheaper than anywhere else. My 5th star for this location is for the office supply isle. Yes I have a thing for office supplies, it is what it is, don't judge. They have pens, pencils and notebooks that are unique and at a great price. I do love their Christmas seasonal displays this year but you need to hit these early. I bought my first Christmas gift here in October, and the decorative ribbon was already picked over by this point, because if you are making stuff to sell at church bazaars you buy early! This was the first time I've been to Sam's Club here. We walked past the jewelry counter and all the jewelry was literally sparkling! The selection of bulk items is amazing! I got some things for baking and was more then pleased to find ghardelli baking chips for 7.78 which was a 2 pound bag. What a steal! We briefly ran through the women's clothing and I found a couple of things I'd buy to my surprise! The store itself was clean and well organized for being as big as it is. I did stop at the food court and got a frozen yogurt for 1.05 let's just say it wasnt small ! I'll definitely be back again. read more

My absolute favorite thing about being a Sam's Club member is being able to purchase the cheapest gasoline in town. When gas prices go up and all of the other places jump to raise their prices, Sam's Gas usually takes at least a day to increase their prices. For example, yesterday gas hiked up to $2.29 per gallon at all of the places that I passed on my way home. Today, I scored gas here at $1.99 per gallon. I pulled up on fuses, with my gas light on, just like I always do. I'll never understand those people who have to fill up when they have a quarter of a tank or more... that's my parents. Speaking of my parents, they drive all the way from the other side of town to get gas here. I won't go that far, but I do love me some Sam's. The saving of the gas alone is worth the membership price. It's in front of the actual Sam's Club and beside Taco Bell. The location is super convenient. It has its own entrance from New Circle, so you don't have to drive out to the stoplight to get back on to New Circle. If you're coming from the Hamburg area, you can take the back way, Fortune Drive. Don't expect gas station amenities. You can't go in and grab a soda or cigarettes. It's strictly pumps and an attendant building. read more

Been going here since I was a wee little girl and I would give the store 5 stars itself and the food 3 stars now. We used to always get a fresh made pizza on the way out but they've gone from having 3 to 1 employee working behind the counter. This young lady was giving it all she had to keep up with everything but the lines were long, variety of pizza limited, the tables were filthy and an older gentleman was doing his best to clean them but I didn't see any disinfectant used, just a paper towel. Dad got a hot dog and they were out of the majority of the condiments. The store itself was still as it had always been well kept. One of the worst Sams Club I've been to. The bakery is a disaster and wasn't very helpful. I ordered a cake for the next day and am getting in my car for them to call me saying to go somewhere else because they're canceling my order due to already having too many orders for that day when they had already taken my order and confirmed it. Ok, so I'm loving this whole Scan and Go app they got. There are days that you have to wait forever to get through the line. Now all I do is can as I shop and then checkout and walk up to the door and they scan my receipt on my phone and viola! I'm out the door, I love it! It especially was amazing during the The Thanksgiving rush, when I only needed to get some bread and lemonade and the lines were terribly long. Yeah, Sam's Club just came up! I live over an hour away from this store and purchased a computer tower online in excess of $1500 with no option but to pay money for a "pick up" outside. Since I had a kidney infection, my neighbors offered to pick it up for me as they were going to Lexington. Unfortunately, an emergency came up for them and they had to turn around and come back home. I attempted to call the Lexington store twice, but no one picked up the phone (to tell them I was unable to pick it up as scheduled online). On Monday, two days later, my neighbor went back to pick it up and was told it was already put back. I was instructed by Lotus that "the only way" to purchase it was to go back online and schedule a pick up for another day and come back again. I told my neighbor this was ridiculous and since she was already there, put it in her cart and walk to the check and get the store manager. Suddenly and not so surprisingly, "Lotus" said that my neighbor could download the app and purchase it now. My neighbor did this. It had only been over 30 minutes of my neighbor's time at this point...... after 45 minutes and there still being issues with zero support, I again told my neighbor to get the manager, "Miss Sierra", who apparently had been paged overhead over a half hour ago - only once - and did not respond. Lotus did not attempt to contact the store manager again, and at this point, nearly an hour, my neighbor left. I put in a call to Miss Sierra who said everything was done exactly as it should have been, and even if she had answered the page, she would not have assisted us in any way with purchasing the computer. I'm from Florida. Had a manager been so outrightly snarky and unhelpful in Florida, I can assure you, she would have been fired. Welcome to Kentucky. read more

I have been a member since 1992. My Plus membership pays for itself plus or minus 5.00 every year that I have had it. Great tires cheaper then the so-called discount tire stores with "life of the tires" rotate and balance and road hazard. Every member gets free flat repair. I get sucked into Sam's Club because of those offers that pretty much pay you to take a membership. Plus, in St. Louis, gas at Sam's is usually 20 cents/gallon cheaper than the cheapest gas station. Here's why New Circle falls flat in my book; *The customer service desk ALWAYS has a ridiculously long line. (Although they do get points for being cordial.) *I'm not sure why I have to show my card at the entrance...because if you buy something, you gotta check out with the card so it doesn't really matter. (Is it because you have people coming in and scoping out prices? This is the only reason I can come up with.) I hate digging through my purse and holding up people. This has only happened to me in KY and TN. *The exit line takes FOREVER to get through; I feel like whoever is checking people out always has to have a small-talk conversation with each person in line. *Food court area is always a mess. But the real reason for the two stars: So I placed a photo order for some photo gifts about a week or so ago. I got a phone call yesterday, but there was no voice mail associated with the call. Since the "expected date" hadn't passed yet, I didn't know if my order was ready early or if they had a question about the order. So I called back. Well. The phone rang numerous times without any answer. It was then switched to the main desk, who transferred me back to photo. This new exercise in fun happened two more times before I got tired of it and told them that this was not the first transfer. So the front desk CSR placed me on hold because she said she knew that *insert name here* was there. She came back after a minute and said that the photo lab CSR must be with a customer because she tried calling photo lab without a response. Her solution was for me to call back later. Uh...ok. Repeated exercise in 30 minutes without anybody picking up again. Repeated exercise in another 30 minutes without anybody picking up again and then it switched back to the main desk. This time, the guy at the front desk said that he would page the photo lab CSR. Sounds good to me. So then...the photo lab CSR actually answers, and goes all irritably, "Who is this??" Really?? That's how you answer the phone? Whatever. I ignored it and started to explain the situation. She did look up the order, confirmed that the order had arrived, and then proceeded to hang up on me. Um...ok, I still had another question! So yeah, I don't know whatever happened to "is there anything else I can help you with?" or "Photo lab. Can you please hold?" but they need to reinstate that back in their employee training. read more

This review is specifically for their "Artisan New York style Cheesecake" from Sam's Club bakery. A family member went there today for pumpkin cheesecake. The bakery was out so he bought a plain cheesecake. It's large & the weight on it states 54 oz. The cheesecake sucks. It's lighter & fluffy & quite plain. I love cheesecake & I know my cheesecakes & actually like them plain. I do not appreciate stores selling "new york style cheesecake" without knowing what that phrase really means. A true new york style or chicago style cheesecake is dense & heavy - a lot of cream cheese goes into one. This is a sad imposter. I'm not taking it back for the price but will honestly throw it out. It's that sub-par. Very disappointed. Try Kroger's Private Selection cheesecake - same price, smaller cheesecake but a true new york style cheesecake. read more

Best place in town to get gas. Always lower then anyone even kroger with 10 cents off a gallon. Produce is a great buy and great deals on diapers and family items. I have been satisfied with most purchases. Staff is nice for the most part and helpful most time. Not every time is the best but everyone has good and bad days. read more
