In October, I paid over $500 for the hydrojet service thinking my drains would be clear from vent opening to the sewer main. They did everything from the front yard vent. Since then, I have had a plumbing bill for $675 to repair work as a result of trying to clear my vent line in the kitchen, and now I need to rent an auger to clean another vent line. I called them and they said with that service, they will only go on the roof if there is no other way to get to the lines. Since we have a yard vent, that's all they do. By working only from the yard, they jammed everything under the house into the vent lines and I now have another set of bills to clean that out. Watch out! read more

Mark was absolutely phenomenal. I made an appointment for Tuesday, which was their first availability. I asked if it was a possibility because I had to work if they could come at the first available timeslot which was 8 AM they give you a two hour window so we had 8 AM to 10 AM, I got a text at 7:20 that they were on the way they arrived just before 8 AM early. Super happy. They were only there for about nine minutes, easy-going and very informative They gave us plenty of information and said we would have a report within a few hours and we did . We also do sewer inspection at the house that we are purchasing. We will continue to do business with this company. read more

Sewer pros did my sewer inspection on a new house I purchased. Told me everything was good and serviceable on their video. A year later I am replacing the entire sewer line for $20,000. Showed the photos to several companies that came out to give me a quote and they all said they never would have passed that inspection. I had no idea what I was looking at, but they all pointed out several spots where the pipe was already eroded away. Don't trust Sewer Pros information at all. read more

Do not use Sewer Pros; they do not warrant their work! Sewer Pros snaked one drain line for my home on April 9, 2024. This service was scheduled on March 28, 2024, taking the first available appointment. Appointment confirmation email had incorrect date and the wrong phone number, so I had to call back to get the correct information updated. Service Completion notes on this job were as follows: "Kitchen backup. Cable only. Office has $219 No cam per owners brother Floor drain backed up with washer and kitchen use. Cabled from the floor drain out about 50ft with drum machine multiple times and removed a blockage of grease and food particles. Ran lots of water through the standpipe and kitchen sink while cabling and the line is flowing at this time. No warranty due to excessive grease and food buildup in the line. Recommend using the garbage disposal sparingly and disposing of grease in the garbage to help prevent backups." My brother was with the technician during the service; he did not witness "excessive grease" and the noodle was the skinny kind from a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup. Also, the technician did not say or infer in any way that his work wouldn't be warranted. Thus, I contacted SewerPros to request the work be warranted, which Sewer Pros declined. On Wednesday, April 17, 2024 (8 days after Sewer Pros cleared the drain line), Tenant sent a photo showing the floor drain again overflowed. As Sewer Pros couldn't come back out until Friday, April 19, 2024, my brother rented a 30-foot manual-feed snake to clear the line and found debris remained in the toilet line. The debris did not have any grease on it! While the technician was nice when he came to the home, he didn't get the job done nor did he tell the customer that his work wouldn't be warranted, waiting to capture that on the service invoice sent via Email. Look for a different company than Sewer Pros or rent your own snake (less than $20 for 4 hours from Home Depot) so you know the job gets done right the first time. read more

I just had my pipes cleaned and not even two weeks later, I have a backup in the house. I called Sewer Pros and they told me that I needed to pay someone to come back out to do the Hydrojet service. Had they made that recommendation initially, I would have paid for it but the service repairman told me that I could do work in the fall because he went ahead with the cabeling. Hired this company on the recommendation from our home inspector. Wish I had called a different one. The tech completely missed the fact that on our 80 year old house we were buying that the cast iron main drain was comprised. It had very little structural integrity left. The bottom 2" of the pipe was missing. He should have known that cast iron of that age was going to be a problem. It's the one reason we hired them to look at it. They said it was fine and needed to be cleaned. Every plumber we have shown their photos to has said the same thing. The bottom is missing from the pipe and it's needs to be lined or replaced. Used this company for a line inspection when we bought our home. The technician scoped the line and said we should get the home owners to do a reinspect just in case, but the video we got from the company didn't show anything of importance. The reinspect was done by the same company, a compromise was fixed and we thought everything was OK, We moved in and after 5 back ups roto rooter finally found a huge compromise that was missed. They watched the sewer pro's video that was furnished to us and showed us the failure of this company to do their job correctly. When sewer pro's hit a snag they simply backed out of the line and didn't go any further. If they had done their job and gone a bit further we would have found this to begin with and never would have bought the house. Sewer pro's negligence cost me thousands to get that fixed. We had to dig up lines and break up the basement to get to the old pipes so they could be replaced. No company is perfect but after asking two other professional plumbing companies, besides roto-rooter, to look at the video, all of them had the same opinion, the company didn't do their job. One professional even had the opinion that the technician lied on the video and claimed he had done something he had not. So we had a simple choice, pay thousands to get the job fixed or pay even more to get a lawyer and seek compensation for the mistake, we went ahead with just fixing the problem because the money lawyers wanted just to look at the case and start building a case was more than what it would cost to fix the problem. I don't expect everyone to be perfect and we all make mistakes, but this mistake ended up costing me thousands of dollars that I shouldn't of had to spend if they had done their jobs correctly. I would never hire this company to even clear my lines. So many problems were missed and they were obvious problems (at least they should have been obvious to a company that does this for a living). Want to get your pipe snaked? Go ahead and hire them they may not mess that up, but I wouldn't trust them with a line inspection before you buy a home, you may end up paying much more than you expected like we did. read more

The SewerPros - where they won't fix your plumbing problems, stay until they know the cause, or take care of customers - but they'll "lead you in the right direction." Like many of the reviewers below, SewerPros originally did our new home inspection, gave us an estimate, and were hired to do the cabling work they had recommended. After getting the keys and moving in, we had a man from SewerPros come out to do this cabling work. He stayed longer than expected, but said the job was done. We paid him extra for his extra time. Then, a week or so after his visit, we flushed the bathroom in our basement toilet and FILTHY SEWAGE WATER came up through the basement shower. We were horrified. Of course, we called SewerPros and they sent the same man back out. He claimed that, because our first job had no guarantee or warranty (due to us not having the correct access point from St. Louis County Public Works and because he had found "wipes"), it was considered "another job" and we'd have to pay him again. He did more cabling and did another video. He showed us "hundreds of baby wipes" and claimed those most have been put in there by us, recently, because he wouldn't have missed those wipes the first time. Neither my boyfriend nor I flushed any sort of white fabric cloth (except toilet paper) down our toilets, and we had barely used the basement bathroom at all, at that point. He told us we'd have to have someone else come out to do hydrojetting, but told us not to call Roto-Rooters because they'd charge too much and wouldn't do a good job. We did call Roto-Rooters, and they were the only ones who came out, found the problem (hundreds of wipes stuck in the pipes for the toilet and shower, clogging our plumbing). Justin from Roto-Rooters explained this, guaranteed our job for six months, and worked with us and our insurance company to clean up our now-contaminated basement and get the costs covered. After all of this, I called a supervisor from SewerPros this morning, hoping he would understand our frustration and work with us. Instead, he talked over, continued to explain how I was wrong, and continually said "we led you in the right direction." 1) No, you really didn't. 2) I didn't pay to be led; I paid to have a job investigated and fixed. I'm not sure how they continue to run on this business model. Instead of "the customer is always right," their mottos are "I trust my guys" and "you are wrong." BE WARY. Even if these guys have done your home inspection, go elsewhere when you actually need the work done. If you have yet to hire a company for an inspection, I'd stay away from SewerPros. (Three visits including inspection, upwards of $700-800, no answers, no customer service.) *******Reponse to Rick below, since this is the only way to respond publicly*********** The statement - "this situation was caused by wet wipes being put in the line between May 27th and June 4th, and not by any negligence on our part." is both 1) false, and 2) again, is the business blaming paying clients, rather than taking care of them. FACTS -We used that toilet once. -Roto-Rooters uncovered 100+ flushable wipes. -We had only lived there a handful of days, and you all were called out to do the work on our move-in day. -SewerPros worker told us someone had likely flushed those in the last couple of days, or even the last hour. Roto-Rooters explained that they were actually in there quite a while and being pushed down, brought back up again (and clogging the restroom pipes). -Logically, previous owners flushed hundreds of wipes in that particular restroom. At the end of the day, SewerPros should have uncovered the issue on the first visit, but did not. SewerPros should have snaked or investigated that bathroom more closely because that's where sewage was building up, but did not. This has become a nightmare the first week we're moved into our new home. Instead of taking care of the customers, believing them, and listening to them, we were told we were incorrect and blamed for an issue we didn't create. You're not a police force, army, or brotherhood. You're supposed to be a business. "I believe my guys" shouldn't take precedence over "take care of the customer." read more

Today I experienced the worst customer server treatment that I have seen in months. Sewer Pros have been to home twice to clean the drains and the main line is clogged again. I was told the soonest a tech could arrive is next Tuesday, 5 days away. We certainly cannot live in a house without toilets or showers. Since they have already been here twice, October and 9 days ago, I would have expected a higher priority but they treated me like I was the clog in the sewer. Twice the office staff got nasty and refused to listen to any reasonable discussion or raise the problem to owners or management. We have used them many times for our home renovation business but will no longer tolerate this incompetence. read more

CAUTION BEFORE YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY! The manager Elisia (Spelling?) just hung up the phone on me after calling me a liar. She told me that I didn't direct her employee to do what I needed to do. Unfortunately, it is not my job to direct their employees. They are naturally supposed to do what I call them out to do. Job was to locate lines, they did an integrity inspection instead. After charging me $300.00, none of this info is useful. All Elisia did was argue that they were right, and that I am in the wrong. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will be going to BBB and Attorney General! Response to the owners comment: This is completely false - I called the next day to get this figured out. I told the supervisor that coming back out was not an option because the landlord was accepting a lease the next day. (I have recordings of each call to prove it, I also have the recording of the call where your supervisor hung up on me) I called 3 different times after and got no call backs, until today, I called again and finally got through. I did not request an inspection, I was very clear in the beginning that I wanted to locate the lines. This was clearly explained to Tabitha the receptionist. I am sick of being called a liar from this company - the customer service is horrendous. I recently purchased a new home and used them for my line inspection. They were great! After moving in I had a paper clog (my fault) and they quickly returned call hour phone call and came out the next day and had the problem fixed in 30 minutes. Jim was the service man and did a great job explaining what he was doing, worked very fast, and gave great advice on how to prevent it from happening again. Today, I had a kitchen clog. I called this morning and they were able to get to my home within 2 hours. Kyle was the service man and did a great job. WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We are selling our house and as part of the inspections process, Sewer Pros was called to scope our sewers. They said that the sewer was so full of roots that they couldn't even get scope all the way through. Then the Sewer Pros Rep. tried to talk us into getting the most expensive service and was really pushy. When we said we had our own company and had just had them come out and clean the lines, he got all nervous and loud and demanded we use them because they were more reliable than our company. DUE TO THAT REPORT we had to pay to have our lines cleaned. We had our company come and scope again and they found NOTHING!!! Like I said, we had just had the sewers cleaned and the sewer lateral line replaced, so I knew Sewer Pros had to be lying. What makes it even more interesting is that our sewer guy said he did a job in Kirkwood just like this, where Sewer Pros had claimed there was a ton of expensive work to be done and when they were called for a second opinion, they found nothing!!! Our company didn't even charge us to scope since they found no blockage at all! That's how you know they are trustworthy!!! Do not use these con artists! Great quick service at a reasonable price. Some companies say they won't give a quote until they are on-site and then charge a service call fee too. Sewer Pros charges a reasonable fee which they will tell you upon contact and gets then gets the job done. I have several rental houses and use them for all my sewer work. read more

Roto-Rooter is like Band-Aid. When you think about getting your sewer unclogged, the big brand names pop into your head, or at least mine. But my experience with the big names is that they always leave themselves room to exploit you once they're on the job. "It will cost $95 to get your drain running, and if you need more work the technician will explain your options and pricing." Once you go down that road you're in trouble. Getting the sewer open enough to let water go down it can be the first step in a much more demanding undertaking, as was my experience today. Andrew showed up quickly and punctually, and the sewer was running within 15 minutes. But then the real work began, and it surprised even him how long it took to defeat a tree root the size of a python. He spent a full hour battling this monster in bitter cold weather, and maintained his good nature throughout. A delightful and very capable young man. I recommend The SewerPros because they give you a fixed price upfront to do the job right, and explain that if the job takes more than 75 minutes, which it rarely does, there is an incremental increase in cost--a price I forget now, but that is perfectly reasonable. If you want to take the guesswork out of the job, and you want the job done thoroughly, I recommend The SewerPros highly. read more

SewerPros were hired by a buyer for a pre-purchase inspection on our sewer lateral. Our vent had been covered (good catch) but when they marked the location, I believe they intentionally missed marked the spot. We paid a plumber for several hours probing for the vent, SewerPros said they were + 3 feet in any direction, when we called another service they located it dead on and just under a yard blanket, it took 2 minutes to fix. We have PVC lines and have not had a single sewer issue in 25 years, even though all the pictures look clear they recommended hydro jetting, which of course the buyers requested. Between us and the buyer, we spent over $1,000 that in the overall scheme of things benefitted no-one! read more

Be sure to get the exact scope of work in writing. When their two hours are up they are done whether the project is complete or not and then they claim this was told to you over the phone! Be sure to only ask for the cabling the camera inspection is useless unless the line does not have water in it the technician even made this comment and you have to unclog the line to do the camera inspection. Then the company says we need it because the camera inspection is a requirement by the City of St. Charles for the lateral program because we must have bigger problems. The City of St. Charles does not require or even look at the camera inspection report for the lateral program they require they do their own camera inspection. The next day we had Premir Sewers out to our house and worked on the clog until it was unclogged it was a pleasure to work with a company that completes the job. read more

They did the sewer inspection for the home we're buying in Sunset Hills. They were early for their appointment, got right to work, and took the time to talk to me after about the findings to make sure I wasn't alarmed. I had a significant amount of roots growing thru the clay sewer pipes. Rather than try and tell me it needed replaced (quite costly) they explained to me that it's just simply an annual maintenance item. They took the time to explain to point out to me why it was happening, and provided the price of the service if I wanted to have them do it before I moved in. They also followed up with a written report included narrated video of the camera in the pipes. it was super clear and easy to understand what the problem was. They will definitely be coming out to clear the pipe before I move in and annually there after. I highly recommend you let them do a sewer scope before you buy a house. read more

My husband purchased a container of rootx for $100 from them and the lady at the desk gave him instructions on how to apply the chemical/pesticide directly in the toilet in the lowest place in the home. My husband and I reviewed the instructions he was given and read the booklet with the product. The booklet said to not put the product in the toilet but directly in the sewer cleanout. We decided to follow the directions of the lady at the office. I followed the directions exactly as she stated but the product did exactly what the booklet said it would, foam out verses foam the plumbing line. I took pictures and called sewer pros immediately. I told them what happened and they said someone would call me back soon. I did get a call back soon, but was told they couldn't help me since I didn't pay for them to install the product. I asked for a middle ground solution but was only forwarded to contact the manufacturer. The company should replace the rootx product since they gave poor instructions on how to install. If they knew this needed to be installed by a professional plumber they should not be allowed to sell to the customer directly. I want them to replace the $100 spent or the product. I am willing to pay them the $60 to install but they need to replace the product for installation. Unless something changes soon, they are unwilling to help or to admit they gave poor instructions so you could be scammed into spending more money with them!!! BEWARE read more

Had one of the worst experiences with this company, I do not recommend them to anyone! There was no communication what so ever and when I called back they were completely unhelpful and rude to the point they hung up on me. Felt mislead and taken advantage of by this company. I called because we were purchasing a new home as is, it was older and had a lot of mature trees in the yard so we thought for sure there would be roots in the sewer lines. When they came out to camera the guy was there a total of 20 min which included introductions. He could only get the camera down about 30 feet before he hit roots. Said they would need to be cleaned did not explain that his company offered that service, just said that was all he could do and that would be $189.00. I called the Sewer Pros office that day when I got home to inquire how it works for them to come back out and re-camera the lines that we just paid $189.00. I was told they would come back out for another $145.00, and would clean the line out for $175.00 but if we would of ordered it all together she says it would of cost $310.00. I then requested them to come back out and clean and re-camera for $121.00 which was the difference between the $189.00 we already paid and the $310. and she said they could not do that as I needed to request that service at the time I called. I explained to her that they never told me what services they provided and how they worked. She said they have been very busy and they did not have time to explain all their serves to everyone that called in, that you should know what you need and want! Sewer pros are exactly what they advertise pros. After a family member called Rotor Rooter on a Saturday night their technician showed up and proceeded to cable the sewer without results other than the cable coming up in the other bathroom and breaking the toilet. The tech promised someone would be back on Sunday between 11 and 2 with better equipment and correct the problem no one showed or called. Then we were promised service Monday between 8 and 11 am with a 30 min before arrival call. I called sewer pros and they said they would probably be there within the hour. Well they both showed up at the exact same time kinda knew that would happen. I took them both inside and told them of my predicament then turned to Rooter and told him he was fired and meet your replacement Jim from Sewer Pro. Jim put the camera down the pipe first then the cable machine had things up and running in less than an hour. WAY TO GO JIM!!! Very professional and was very clean he put down drop cloths and covered the walls with them also. Sewer Pros is a ***** in my book anyday. THANKS JIM!!! read more

We hired The Sewer Pros for a routine camera sewer inspection to ensure the line was clear as part of the process of selling our home. Due to their limited availability, my husband had to meet the technician while he was on a work conference call on his cell. He did speak with the technician but was unable to monitor him the entire time he was in our home. After the technician left, we realized that he had splattered sewage all over our basement in a 5-7 foot radius from the stack in our basement where he had inserted his equipment. There was sewage all over my floor cleaning equipment (Shark floor mop), clothing steamer, laundry washer and dryer, previously clean clothing that was neatly folded on top of the dryer, laundry baskets, dehumidifier etc. Many of these items were unable to be properly sanitized/bleached and had to be thrown away. I called the company and they claimed they had no one available to come out to clean up the mess. They contacted me 3 days later with an offer to send out a technician. I informed them that of course, I had cleaned up the sewage and damage myself as I couldn't just leave that sitting all over my belongings for several days. The company reimbursed us for the $239 they had charged for the cabling, but I found this to be woefully inadequate compensation for the replacement of contaminated items and for our trouble to have to spend several hours cleaning up sewage, which is a human health hazard. The company didn't seem to care about our concerns or the cost of the damage they caused for what should have been a routine quick inspection that did not leave any mess behind. I am appalled that this company calls their technicians professionals and would strongly warn anyone against allowing these people the opportunity to damage their home. read more

The Sewer Pros have done three inspections for me over the last year. Every one was completed on time and in the most professional manner, with the inspector arriving at the promised time. The inspection results provided are comprehensive, well documented, and their advice is sound. Their focus is on the needs of the customer, not just knocking out inspections that can be billed. One of my inspections indicated some issues right within the first ten feet. The inspector stopped and recommended the line be cabled before proceeding. This simple courtesy prevented me from paying for a second inspection. Once the line was cabled, the follow on inspection was characteristically complete and well done. The Sewer Pros are honest brokers that do not perform any of the cabling or repairs that are found to be necessary.
