We brought LSF a very beloved, not fancy pony that we had come to the end of the road with and had been trying to sell for a year. We were scared of him and he was increasingly reactive. LSF spent an incredible amount of time rebuilding his and our confidence. Suffice to say, the pony is loved and a delight and we hope we get to keep him forever. LSF takes care of horses like you would yourself if you knew how, and they teach you along the way. They've also built a lovely community. The tween kids convinced us to start our kids, and it's been great to be at a place that helps build character, in addition to being thoughtful about safety. Also it's such a beautiful spot. Basically heaven on earth. Come, because it's wonderful. Don't come, because we want to save stall space for more horses for us :)

Our guide, Kiera, was fantastic -- knowledgeable, relaxed, encouraging, and clearly wonderful with both people and horses. The scenery was breathtaking, and the ride felt like a real adventure rather than just following a trail in a line. We crossed a beautiful river twice, rode through gorgeous mountain terrain, and truly got to experience the landscape. My horse, Buckwheat, was such a character and made the ride even more fun. We especially appreciated that the ride felt personal, peaceful, and authentic. You can tell the horses are well cared for and that the guides genuinely love what they do. It was a perfect blend of…read morespecial time with the farm animals (holding baby bunnies! walking goats!), learning to care for the animals (branding manes and tails, picking horseshoes, touring the stables), crafts, and pony rides. And I was blown away by the pony show on Friday morning! The counselors were so caring and great with the kids and 4-H values and true equestrian skills are evident in all the kids learn in a short 5 days. I cannot say enough what a gem this place is. Only one exit down the road from downtown Truckee but a world away and we could pick her up at lunch and still have a family afternoon together. We felt so lucky that we found out about this camp. We will definitely be back!

There's plenty of parking available and in the office is where you'll sign some paperwork and pay. It was $60 for an hour ride. You're allowed to bring your phone and a Fanny pack. I was placed with a group, so we were a total of 5, including the guide. I know for next time to book for the two hour session. There's a bit of uphill and downhill on the trail. The trail is pretty worn in and I felt so comfortable on the horse I was on. I got placed with the horse named Blue. Genuinely loved the experience and found it so calming. I'd love to do it again whenever I'm in Tahoe again.

I have previously been to the amphitheater for a Summer concert and loved how intimate of a venue it is. They also hold various events at the interpretive center throughout the year. When I come here though, it's usually to hit the Trails. There are 3 trails, the 1.5 mile Ranch Loop Trail, .4 mile Quail Run and .2 mile Flume Trail.
