Our guide, Kiera, was fantastic -- knowledgeable, relaxed, encouraging, and clearly wonderful with both people and horses. The scenery was breathtaking, and the ride felt like a real adventure rather than just following a trail in a line. We crossed a beautiful river twice, rode through gorgeous mountain terrain, and truly got to experience the landscape. My horse, Buckwheat, was such a character and made the ride even more fun. We especially appreciated that the ride felt personal, peaceful, and authentic. You can tell the horses are well cared for and that the guides genuinely love what they do. Highly, highly recommend this experience if you're looking for a scenic and memorable ride in the Truckee/Tahoe area!

She is so much more than an experienced trail guide -- Stephanie is a knowledgeable historian, an engaging storyteller and an eager teacher of the local flora, fauna and local lore. I'll never pick and smell sage again without thinking of the tale she shared about how cowboys once used it for cleansing back in the day. An early morning ride through the quiet beauty and serenity of the Tahoe National Forest, taking it all in from atop sure-footed Whiskey, was the absolute best start to the day -- and an experience I look forward to enjoying again and again.

So many different trails. A very easy paved 0.4 mile loop hike, gravel path hikes, and of course, rough dirt hikes. Potential flooding, especially after a huge winter. Stay on the trails, as many paths have natural erosion. Stay safe. There used to be a fish hatchery here, see website. Not sure if it closed...? Also lots of wildlife; again, stay safe - Coyotes, bobcats, mule deer, black beers (we get this at the house also, LOL), mountain lions, rodents (too many to name), bats, birds, reptiles, etc. Atmosphere - Visitor center may be small, but they are packed full of information. Also cool decor, see pictures. There are also campsites, BBQ, picnic areas, volleyball courts, horse shoe, clean bathrooms, and plenty of parking (cars, RVs, buses, etc). There is even a stage in Eagle Meadows for events. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm (hours are also seasonal, see website). Clean bathrooms throughout the different parking lots and camp sites. Horse trails and minimum bike trails, see picture. Visitor center; it was actually open today. Thank you volunteers. Last time we were here was during the winter; what a difference with the seasons. Service - Self-service today. Price - Free today. Owner Comment - Thank you Washoe County for another great park!

This is the kind of camp that makes me wish I could be a kid again. No really. After picking up my…read moredaughter here this summer, I have total camp-wayback-jealousy... whatever that means. OK - What it means is this: I want to be a kid and go to a camp in the Sierras, where I get to live in a cabin in the woods, with my friends, sing songs around the campfire at night, eat great food, swim in the river during off hours....and Oh Yeah - Play soccer twice a day with guidance from professional-grade coaches from around the world (mostly Europe.) And then end the week with a "World Cup" playoff where each training group forms a team representing a different county. Why didn't they have this place when I was a kid? Oh wait, they did. Two Rivers has been around for 42 years now. My daughter has been lucky enough to enjoy visits over two of them so far. My visit here blew me away. Not only did the camp owner greet me and chat with me in the parking lot, he stood up during the closing ceremonies and spoke fondly of the counselors and the soccer family they've built here. Many of the trainers and counselors are repeats (with one coming back here for 17 years straight). During some of the example campfire songs and tributes from the staff, the owner became a little choked up and had to pull out a tissue. It was very sweet. My daughter had a great time and made some great memories. I hope the soccer bug stays with her and she decides to return again next summer. If she does, maybe I'll get her an oversize bag so she can sneak me in.

She immediately asked if she could go again next year and bring more of her teammates along. We said yes, and we'll also be sending our 9 year old son along with her.

Really, I think there was a hidden agenda encouraging me to go, because he knew I'd buy something, which would mean another home cooked meal! I entered on the side of the building, and there were instructions to ring the bell for help. There was a room that had a small cold case. I already knew what I was going to get and it was in the case. Some beef bones and a packet of Korean ribs. I asked if they had bacon, but not at the time. The bacon has been requested a lot, and they purchase the pig from a third party, so she just said to call before coming down. The bones are big for my dogs, but I will see next time if they can cut them in half. I'll definitely be back when they have bacon.

The meat was frozen in a sealed plastic bag. I was a little disappointed to see that at first but I tried it anyway. I bought 3 lbs of ground beef and a New York style cut steak. I took them home and used my best receipt for burgers. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised. I thought I was really going to hate them and be super disappointed. I like it and so did everyone else. I think I did make the paddy's to big because man was I struggling to get the second burger down. It's like when you like the taste of something so much you want to keep eating because you just can't stop. This place made me eat to much burger. Thanks for making me eat to much Wolf Pack Meats. I blame you for being to delicious. I will say parking is sparse but you don't have to worry about it to much. This place needs an update or a remodel of the building if you really want to by hyper critical but I don't really the damn meat is delicious. Keep killing those lovely delicious cows for me thanks! Well, I will definitely be back for more. Just thinking about those damn burgers make my mouth water. Damn it! I WANT BURGER NOW! Haha thanks for reading my review.
