Environment was absolutely very rich with culture. The ladies and gents wore colonial style attire and all had a very clean appearance. There was indoor/outdoor seating that was enchanting because of the trees and birds frolicking about. I immediately became an addict of the oreaja pastries. I went basic today and asked for a fajita which isn't really a Mexican dish. It's a Tex-mex meal. Never the less, I was very satisfied! Oh yeah and the tea was delicious too. La panadería es sin duda la especialidad de maque, mis favoritas son las conchas de vainilla, pero recomiendo el chocolatin, orejas y un pan relleno de crema pastelera que es delicioso. Los desayunos a pesar de no ser tan sustanciosos tienen buen sabor. Recomiendo mucho ir a desayunar a este lugar, aunque, los fines de semana suele estar lleno por lo que tienes que esperar unos minutos para entrar, lo mejor es llegar temprano (entre 9-10 am) para esperar menos tiempo. read more

Excellent place for breakfast in the Satelite area. Try to get in early, as place can get really crowded after 10 am for brunch on weekends. Tamales are very good, as well as machacado norteño or chilaquiles (try "al maistro"). Pastries are a must, by far the best in the area. read more

We visited El Maque on a Sunday morning after we finished an appointment in the area. Some friends had previously recommended it to us. We arrived at just before 9:30 am. From the moment you walk in, a wonderful buttery and sugary smell of baking envelopes you. There is a bakery workstation at the entry so you can see the pastries and sweet breads being made by hand. There are several indoor dining rooms, outdoor terraces, a greenhouse area, and a patio. The atmosphere is lovely. It feels completely peaceful and well tended. The service is wonderful. The waitresses wear retro ruffled and starched uniforms. They were very attentive. The foot was completely fresh, simple, yet beautifully prepared. They had a special chipotle chilaquiles that were delicious. The omelette was delicious as well. Not in a Julia Childs kind of way. More of in a traditional Mexican kind of way. The baskets of pan dulces that they brought for us were fresh and delicious. The orange and mandarin juice tasted like it had been squeezed on the spot. The teas were wonderful. Overall, a completely satisfying breakfast experience. We got there at 9:30 am on a Sunday and the place was half empty and we were seated immediately. by 10am, the last tables were filling up and after that point I'm sure there was a wait. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I'm already looking forward to going back. read more
