I've been to another Soundrunner before, so I came here since I live in town and know the strong reputation of this small chain. I came in desperate need of new running shoes. I'm hard to fit. I have problems with my arches and also have wide feet. A very kind staff member, can't remember his name, was more than helpful. I tried on about 6-8 pairs and I ultimately went with the first pair I tried on (sorry about that). The staff member was super knowledgeable about all brands, shoe fit, etc. I trusted his opinions enough to buy my shoes and Ive already ran in them once and I think they are the perfect fit. I love that the store offers a treadmill to test out the shoes, but maybe it doesn't have to be located in the front of the store by the window? The store is in a great location, in the heart of downtown Fairfield. Parking is a slight issue. I don't believe there is a lot so I just parked on the street. They offer a lot of running groups/activities and once I get back into the swing of things, I'm going to look into them more. read more

I was greeted warmly by all when I entered Sound Runner and, received extraordinary help and service from Phil. He was determined to figure out the best shoe for my problem. Wonderful experience! Always a pleasure working with people who know what they are doing and who are beyond courteous. This past Saturday, (October 13, 2018) I went to Sound Runner for new sneakers. I was greeted by the lovely Eilee (sp) who asked me to take off my shoes and then to walk. This store is very old school in their ways which I love and they are beyond thorough. My feet were analyzed immediately, I was brought out a few options and each time was asked to walk for review. The treadmill in the store is a great touch so you can truly test the shoes out. I was even offered a nice pair of socks to try which I ended up buying because I liked them so much. Normally, I'd look at this as a simple upsell but totally worth it. I never felt pressured, felt beyond comfortable and can't wait to go back. Do yourself a favor and make a trip here for a wonderful experience and a solid pair of sneakers you won't regret. Headed to Fairfield for coffee and walked by here and happy I did. I've been looking for new running shoes since a recent knee injury. Walked in and was greeted by a friendly and kind face. The rep was extremely helpful and offered me to try on several selections with the use of their treadmill. Walked out a happy customer with some new shoes that I will start using Sept 1st to get back into running full time again! It is like a throwback to have such caring service in a shop. Between Eileen's smarts and their amazing machine that reads everything about your feet, she brought me two different pairs of running shoes, both of which fit and felt great, and left with me to wear for my long walks. Though I've purchased some accessories from Sound Runner Fairfield, I just purchased my first pair of running shoes from them. I've been a runner nearly 40 years and I must say, the customer service care at this store was incredible ! I have a host of running issues and I am extremely selective with my shoes. Eileen and Brian were extremely patient and careful with me. It was as if I were a patient and they were physicians in terms of carefully considering all my needs and finding a solution.
