If I could leave negative 3 stars I would at this point. They were quick to respond to my initial assessment of a consultation. I was matched with an attorney in my state after a bit of time. But I still had hope. Shawn was the initial nice guy/financial guy. The first and only time my attorney has spoken to me over the phone was in early July When she was assessing my case, she buttered me up. She ensured my case is easily defendable- and winnable (child custody/divorce) Her name is Saundra "Sam" Meyer - she reps different states including my own. Her plan is to enact temporary orders and a one-time adjustment to a counter petition. FOR $6,000 (I've already paid over $1k) somehow my soon to be ex-husband, who is mentally unstable and had just been arrested for driving drunk to the kids' school, totaling our car, and attempting to pull them out of school resulting in a disctrict-wide lockdown plus over 40 screenshots of texts, police reports, personal letters from the superintendent of the school banning him for life from the district PLUS him taking the kids for a weekend where we agreed upon their return where he immediately cut contact with me and told me the day they were due to come home for summer school that I'd never see them again (80 days and counting now) had beaten my efforts to the clobbering and put out his own temp orders, withheld the kids from me/alienated me, and is asking for sole custody and child support...I was the stay at home mom for over a decade while he was the provider, and somehow his dirt-eating local attorneys have filed multiple case files against me while my attorney only filed a notice of appearance less than 2 1/2 weeks ago, she won't answer any questions when I email her, my "team" at Marble won't answer any questions -the one time they did they told me my attorney had drafted the temp orders and would have them filed that day (spoiler alert: she never did file anything at all) they won't answer me if she'll be at my upcoming hearing in 8 days for his temp orders. They won't tell me anything. At. all. My attorney won't tell me anything at. all. She told me last Friday she'd call me. No call. Today I called Marble and I was told my case manager would call me today. She didn't call. My email to my attorney today? No answer when I requested we speak about my kids and my case. I've practically been begging. And to mention- I have been as polite as can be, the whole way I have been mild mannered and patient. But I'm feeling taken advantage of. Stolen from. What's worse, is I've even had to call CPS since this all began because my ex called after 50 days of silence to tell me to pick up the kids so he "knew they were safe"...he cut contact again, further showing instability, I've made welfare checks many times. What makes it so enraging is that I fear for my children in an unstable environment and I'm seeing that my own "team" could care less about them. Two 9 year olds and a 2 year old and their safety, stability, and job to defend me and their future mean absolutely nothing. Where's the moral compass, Marble? If I could post the emails between my team and I, I most certainly would. If they'd wake up and do what they could to help me protect my children and bring them home, acknowledge me in the slightest, I'd happily edit this review to reflect their diligence, I'd be happy to say "maybe I just needed more patience, maybe it's so quiet on my end because they're taking all that I'm giving them documentation-wise and building the case of stone I know can be easily made to do their absolute best for the kids and I. Even my kids' school district is trying to do what they can to assist because they witnessed his instability. But I can't even get a measly moment of attention. $6,000 for unrendered services and an emotional rollercoaster made worse by those who ALSO signed a contract to do their part. It's for the kids, it's all for the kids. I need someone from Marble to step up and say "we're trying, here's that phone call we promised you over and over. Thank You Marble Law I don't know where to start. But let's start off by saying Marble Law is a "unbundled legal services" provider. Research the term. I needed something that allowed what I could afford. This service is for those that cant quite hire a attorney but can do something. Quickly. Just putting that in there for anyone lost in despair like I was. Take note. Things may seem expensive. But after what I've been through? It's the convenience and the ability to do a payment plan that private attorneys wont do. You pay just to say hi with private attorneys. An that anxiety alone cripples the ability to even function or manage daily life. I will state that you have to be patient through this process. Meaning, do not allow the emotions control you. I was forced to learn court is not a place to ever end up. Be humble my friends. I was served papers for a custody battle stepping off the front line from a COVID unit. Served the same community as a firefighter at the hospital I worked the frontline. An I'm being served? I didn't have the energy or even mental ability to even UNDERSTAND this. I struggled going through legal aide and ALL these expedited motions saturating my ability to keep up financially. Then one day on one of my obsessive hunts for counsel. I found ML. It was a grueling process. But when I needed them? They showed up and gave the resolution I DESERVED to this matter. My advice to ANYONE needing document preparation, counsel for a hearing, anything that doesn't allow you to be Pro Se. As a parent? Know your RIGHTS. Be considerate of the other parent. If they are a good parent regardless of what happened in the marriage/relationship. Let the other parent have their rights too. The kids need both of you. If that is not an option. PLEASE follow the proper way to obtain what's RIGHT for the kids. Study. Study. Study your case. Court truly is the last option. Don't be afraid to set boundaries. Don't trust anyone. Write it down an get it notarized an signed by BOTH parents if there is a temporary modification if you can't afford to go to court. AT LEAST do that. Lastly, be very comfortable with your attorney. If it's not a fit? COMMUNICATE! Email. You have their contact once your retainer is established. Our kids are not a game. An if you don't follow the appropriate approach with rational reasoning. The kids suffer TREMENDOUSLY!!! Apply the services to the appropriate matter. Be patient. Be accommodating. Go to court. An just face this ugly monster with courage and grace. Superb! That's the word I would use to describe my attorney, Justin Snell, and the experience I had working with him. Mr. Albee and Ms. Parsons helped me throughout my divorce, which was probably not an easy task. In the beginning, I was a heartbroken, confused new mother, transitioning out of the Army.
