I first contacted Dr Osipova in late 2017 to consult about recurring hernia issues. She was fantastic during my consult, answering all of my questions, drawing pictures, etc. Dr Osipova suggested I also meet with her partner for a second opinion, Dr. Adajar, who has a different perspective on how to treat hernias. So I made an appointment and did as she advised. Drs Osipova and Adajar were just as fantastic during that consult. I determined I was not going to go forward with surgery right now, but would work on some lifestyle issues to see if that would help. I had blood drawn and Dr Adajar let me know numbers and his recommendations based on my numbers. And then it went downhill. I talked with Dr. Adajar's assistant Michelle, and felt like I was being sold a used car. She wouldn't let me talk, and was just throwing out price tags for consultations that needed to take place, weight loss medicine and vitamins and hormones I needed to buy, etc. When I would try to talk, she wouldn't hear me and I finally just asked her to have Dr. Adajar call me so I could understand what this Xsculpt work was that he does, and talk through what would be the best course of action for me to take next. That request to talk to him was made over a month ago, and I haven't heard from him. I even texted him on his cell, since he used that form of communication with me after my blood test results were in. I got no response. The experience started out great, but then turned into something I didn't understand. And I am left with a bill to pay for the bloodwork and no course of action to take that you usually work out with a medical professional. I had to have an emergency gallbladder removal this past monday and what went from being a really terrible experience immediately became better when I was placed in the care of Dr. Adajar. I checked in at Advocate Masonic's ER after my primary care physician talked down to me, told me to go home and "deal with it" and that "no one would ever operate on me". I was in unbelievable pain and was terrified. A few hours later I was in the operating room with Dr. Adajar and his amazing team. His team was amazing. Not only were they kind, smart, and thoughtful.. they were hilarious! Honestly, I was so excited to get that thing out of me that the thought of surgery didn't scare me one bit. I had an amazing team and knew I was going to feel better in no time. Dr Adajar and his team put me at ease immediately. I had to stay over night and someone from his team checked in on me what seemed like every hour! They were so attentive! The team answered all of my follow up questions, they were kind to me and my wife, and so respectful of each other and the nursing staff. Once I got home I was in email touch with Dr. Adajar right away. He checked in on me, answered all my questions, and made sure that I was recovering well. I saw Dr. Adajar in May for outpatient surgery. He was awesome. His office/Advocate hospital fit me in for an office appointment within 24 hours, I had surgery about a week later and all was well again in my world. Dr. Adajar explained everything to me in both first and follow up visits - I asked a TON of stupid questions and he patiently answered all of them. He was also very reassuring the day of my surgery - as well as his team of students, nurses, etc. Everyone was so friendly that it really put my nerves at ease. After my surgery, he followed up with a phone call as well as email. Ask yourselves, how many surgeons actually do that? He went above and beyond and definitely had that "personal touch" that Maxwell also said. My recovery was easy and my scars are tiny. He really did a great job! Dr. Adajar has performed 3 surgeries for me in the last year to include an emergency appendictomy. He's been incredible. I personally requested him for my last 2 voluntary procedures. He goes above and beyond and pointed out several other issues that could impact my long term health that I doubt would have been addressed by other surgeons. How many of your drs have ever given you their email? He is constantly in contact and available before and after the surgery and instills a great deal of confidence at a time that can be very traumatic. He and his staff are the consummate professionals. Oh my Gallbladder, why do you do this to me?!? After discovering I had a major gallstone, my PCP referred me to Dr. Adajar, who I had already heard of and was very pleased to be referred to. From the moment he walked into the exam room, I knew if I needed surgery, this is the guy I wanted operating on me. Over the years I have developed an umbilical hernia that I finally realized I needed taking care of and my Personal Doctor recommended Dr. Adajar. I am happy he did. I went in for a consultation in early January and did not have to wait to long before he came to talk to me. He was very personable and down to earth. He told me exactly what would need to be done and said he could do it for me if I wanted. He gave me a brochure talking about himself, his experience and his practice. He also said to phone or e-mail him at anytime and he would get back with me as soon as possible. This he always did within a twelve hour period anytime I had a question about the upcoming surgery or post-op questions. I then would sit with his Aunt who took care of all the insurance matters and all surgery scheduling and they went out of their way to set the day of the surgery on the day I asked for. I was given ample instructions to know what was needed of me up until the day of surgery such as diet concerns or certain medications I could not take. On the day of the surgery March 5th. I was taken to Illinois Masonic and went through pre-op routines and then taken to wait for surgery. The nurses and residents all were very nice and considerate and even Dr. Adajar stopped by to say hi and see how I was doing as he came into the hospital still carrying his own backpack. The guy always has a smile on his face and that puts you more at ease. I was taken into surgery and a masked was placed over my face and within a few minutes I was asleep and before you know it being woken up. All was done and went very well. I now was officially in post-op where all my needs were attended to including making sure I did not experience more pain than I could handle. I was probably in post op for maybe an hour then I was released and told to call or e-mail with any concerns. I did a follow up with him at his office eleven days later and he took the time to make sure my work knew that would need extra time off to recover. I had to go into the ER about a week ago for a horrible pain in my abdomen. I had already known that there was a possibility that I would have have to get my gallbladder removed based on a previous ultrasound that found multiple gallstones so walking into the ER I knew what was wrong. Once I told the doctors exactly what was going on I mentioned to them that I had an appointment with Dr. Adajar to talk about getting my gallbladder removed and the doctors instantly had Dr. Adajar's team assess me. Once everyone had explained the procedure to me and let me know, in detail, what was going to happen I felt very comfortable with my decision to remove my gallbladder. But the most comfort came after speaking to Dr. Adajar. He was completely sympathetic for what I was going through and did a great job putting me at ease answering any and all questions that I had. The day of the surgery everyone that was going to be in the OR with me was extremely polite and they all introduced themselves to me. They all did their best to help me relax and feel at ease with everything that was going on. Their patient care was WONDERFUL!!! They really did everything they could to make me and everyone around me to feel comfortable. I went to Dr. Adajar when I was told I had gallstones. The wait in his office is very reasonable and not very long. Dr. Adajar came in and said to call him "Marc," which I thought was a really nice touch. I really liked his bedside manner. He's very personable and real. He is not a robot. I had my gallbladder out a month later. I like that Dr. Adajar encourages e-mailing him and he always responded very quickly to any e-mail correspondence. It was so much preferable to calling an office and leaving a message with a secretary. The surgery went well and I couldn't really have asked for a better physician. I'm surprised I have not written a review before. I've had 3-4 surgeries with Marc (and one with Maria) they are both very good doctors. I'm not sure what makes a surgeon good from a technical aspect, but I am alive so they meet that criteria. The best thing about the practice is that you feel like family and never like a number. I first went to see Dr. Adajar to get an opinion about a recurrent hernia. I was pretty leery of surgeons in general after my first hernia repair surgery had failed, and my initial plan was to get a few different surgeons' opinions and then decide where to have the surgery re-done. But, after one consult with Dr. Adajar, I felt lucky to have met him and was very confident having him perform my surgery. It is apparent that Dr. Adajar really cares about service to his patients and his community. He is the most personable surgeon I have ever met (and I've taken my son to quite a few!). He is so smart and easy to talk to. He gives honest answers to all questions and really wants you to ask any questions you may have. He even asked that I email him several times after the surgery to review how I was recovering! I was also very impressed with his thoughtful technical recommendations (why he prefers laporoscopic surgery, pros/cons of lancing seromas, etc.). Dr. Adajar and his staff far, as well as the nursing team at St Joseph, exceeded my highest expectations. The office staff at Precision Surgical Group were very polite and easy to talk to. The surgical nurses were also very kind and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable before and after surgery (extra blankets, snacks, etc.!). While of course the best case would be not to need surgery at all, I will definitely return to Dr. Adajar's office should I ever need surgery in the future. read more

I met for a consultation with Dr. Adajar in May, 2016 in regards to my hemorrhoids. He was very up front regarding the recovery time and pain I could expect if I decided to have a hemorrhoidectomy (removal of the pesky hemorrhoids). I appreciated his honest and open opinion that he didn't find the surgery completely necessary but he left the decision for me to make, which I appreciated it as he had provided me all of the information I would need to make an informed decision. I decided to wait until November, 2016 to go ahead and have the procedure done. The surgery occurred at Presence Health - St. Joseph's hospital. The unit where the surgery (out patient) was done is new and very nice. I can't speak enough praise regarding the nurses, anesthesiologist, and Dr. Adajar. After the procedure, Dr. Adajar emailed me throughout the next two weeks continually checking up to ensure I was doing well and answering all of my pesky questions. All in all, Dr. Adajar and his team were professional yet made me feel comfortable and at ease for a slightly embarrassing health issue I have been dealing with the past few years. The recovery has gone much better than I (and Dr. Adajar) had anticipated! I am sure this is due to Dr. Adajar doing an excellent job during the procedure, as well as following his recovery regime outlined for me. My primary physician referred me to Dr. Adajar, so I was confident going in. But the experience turned out better than expected from beginning to end/ How often can you say that about a medical experience!? I had a large, painful, abscessed cycst. Dr. Adajar removed it quickly and skillfully. He explained how to dress the wound and patiently answered my questions. That was just the beginning of the good experience. Over the next week and a half there were a few times that I was concerned about whether it was healing properly (it required active participation from me in dressing the wound properly every day). Dr. Adajar had provided his email address, so I queried him several times. He always answered promptly, sometimes within the hour. He asked me to email photos of the wound, and he was able to assure me that it was healing extremely well. I'm almost fully healed. Dr. Adajar removed a rather large cyst from my leg earlier this month. He was professional, humorous and inspired confidence when first meeting him as well as the day of the surgery. I was impressed... they wanted me at the hospital at 9 for a 10:00 surgery. I got there at 8:30 (figured I could do some reading) and they had me in and out and back in my vehicle by 9:30. I was referred to Dr Adajar from my PCP for a inguinal hernia. It took Dr Adajar about 3 seconds to diagnose my inguinal as well as an additional umbilical hernia just by looking at me without even touching, if that gives you an idea of how good of a physician he is. Dr Adajar was very receptive to my concerns of being a first time surgery patient. He explained how the procedure would go and at the procedure itself he made me and my parents feel very comfortable. Dr. Adajar did a minor surgery for my mom and it was an such a smooth experience. We were all very nervous and his staff helped put us at ease, they were all wonderful! The male nurse at the end, that helped with dismissing us and answering our questions was great and funny! I saw Dr. Adajar at his office in Thorek Hospital for a herina repair via laparoscopic surgery. His care was very good and he has considerable experience with this procedure. The surgery went well with no complications. One big plus is that he used email to communicate with me. Any issue I had I could email him and get a response, which is really uncommon for most doctors as far as I know. Hi all, I am a 34 years old man and it's been two months now since I had an Inguinal Hernia repair procedure done by Dr. Marc Adajar, on the left and right side, at the Swedish Covenant Hospital. The procedure went well and I was back home after three hours. Since then I took it easy and the recovery went well. It was very easy to keep in touch with Dr. Adajar via email. He was checking up on me regularly to see how I was feeling and how the recovery was coming along. After a few weeks, I started easing up into exercising since I like to be active. I took it easy and I have to admit that I felt sore in the area, but that is to be expected after any surgery. At the hospital, everybody was very attentive and overall was a great experience. The only downside from the whole experience was that at the follow-up consultation I had to wait over half an hour to be seen by the doctor( it might have been the front office's fault). In the end, I highly recommend Dr. Marc Adajar, he is a great surgeon, positive, attentive and seem so enjoy his work. read more
