We opted to share two savory tartes and save dessert for the Christmas market. I also ordered a vin chaud as I was a bit cold from the boat ride. I took a look at the regular menu, but there were way too many things to choose from. So we sticked to the lunch items. Lentil soup, chicken curry, veggie curry, yellow curry soup. The food was served within 10 minutes and we enjoyed it very much. The soups were really tasty, and the curries had a lot of flavor. Everything was made from scratch. The ingredients are listed in German, still if in doubt it's safer to ask the staff anyway. You pay 1,55EUR/100g for everything with some exceptions - depending on the day, noodles with sauce or potato pancakes with apple sauce are only 1,25EUR/100g - make sure to use a different plate for these so they can be weighed separately at the checkout. There is also a lunch menu from 12-2 o'clock that is not weighed and costs about 6EUR per portion. The best thing about the place is that is offers a huge variety of vegetables, salads, dishes and dressings - they also have nice desserts incl. gluten-free ice cream and all sorts of cake. They are all well cooked and sometimes even spicy. Again they don't offer any meat, it's purely vegetarian - some dishes are even vegan (if marked so). Downside is the price as well as the location, because the interior is not very appealing, furniture seems cheap or randomly chosen at best. Also there's no A/C even though the sun is shining through several windows in the ceiling. The staff is very unprofessional though helpful if asked for help. Also everything is very clean and tidy, which is nice. Good thing is also that it's not very formal, anyone eats there, students, working people, old people - just anyone. Coleslaw is not mayonnaise based like often seen in US ,but this one is flavorful with adequate amount of vinegar in it, and not sour at all. If you come to this wonderful town, please dine in here. You will not be disappointed. BTW, the hotel is as good as the restaurant. Really right in the heart of everything, yet quiet at night. The staff is super friendly and professional.

My sister in law, which has celiac disease, specifically ordered a GLUTEN-FREE pizza and when the pizza was brought to the table, I asked the server to confirm this was gluten free. It was NOT. They took it back without telling us if they would make a new one, give us a refund, and for 35 minutes, we waited for a new pizza. We tried to contact the server, manager, etc and for another 45 minutes waiting for the check to pay. My sister in law suffers from internal bleeding, stomach cramps, and MORE if she ingests even a gram of gluten. So it's HURTFUL when a restaurant will not only make this mistake of serving a pizza non-gluten free, but not apologize or give your patrons even a minute of your time. DO NOT COME HERE. I realize gluten-free restaurants are difficult to come by, but I will not be coming back and WARN anyone that attends to beware of the service and food they serve because it was truly HORRIBLE!
