Marcia took beautiful pictures of my daughter that we are using to commemorate her senior year in high school. I'm so glad we got to work with her. During my search for a photographer, the style and movement captured in her photos really caught my eye and made her stand out from the others. We have had a wonderful experience with Marcia on our photoshoot, we were there to have my daughter photographed and also for a family shoot. Location was great but started raining and you will never guess by the amazing photos we got. Sky eventually cleared and we even got a rainbow. She is patient and at the same time creative and active. My kids were very goofy and she knew how to handle them. With my daughter, she was able to capture her best angles and helped us with the make-up and selecting outfits. The final products arrived perfectly in Brazil, 2 wonderfull photobooks and one enlargement printed on canvas that is a true painting! Our friends and family were just in awe when they saw them. If I could give Marcia 100 stars, I would. I live in California and wasn't sure how to begin looking for a photographer to cover my sunset photos in Oahu. The photographer covering my date time ceremony, who was included in my wedding package, wasn't available so I started to look for a photographer. After looking at Marcia's portfolio, I was sold. It had been a long day since my ceremony was at noon. Our shoot was scheduled for 6:30pm (in time to catch the sunset). When we arrived at the location, Marcia was there completely set up and ready to go. I was tired, hungry, sleepy and just wanted to get this over with. She made it seem effortless, fun and had lots of ideas for different poses and lighting effects. We had so much fun taking pictures that we surpassed our scheduled time frame. Marcia kept coming up with different ideas which I didn't mind, because by then, I was really into it that I forgot how hungry I was. Long story short.... MY PICTURES ARE AMAZING!! Marcia photographed my wedding and we recently got all of our pictures back and they are absolutely beautiful! So many friends and family have commented that they look like they belong in magazines because they're so picture perfect. I'm sure our location helped with that, but most of it was Marcia! We only hired her for 2 hours around our ceremony because that's what our budget would allow, so I wasn't expecting that she would be able to capture all that much in that amount of time. I was pleasantly surprised though! She can work incredibly fast without sacrificing great photos! I also wanted the pictures of just the groom and myself to be taken someplace right on the ocean so we would have the sunset over the water in our photos and she recommended a place on Diamond head that was close enough to not waste our time with her, but absolutely beautiful! She's a really fun person that makes you feel comfortable immediately. We couldn't be happier with all of the incredible photos she took! The best part is that one of the services she offers is to make a website after your wedding of the photos so all your friends and family can view them and order whatever they want. Marcia is a wonderful gifted person. She recently did our engagement photo shoot on Lanikai beach. She made us both feel very comfortable. We did lots of different poses and she took so many pictures. Truly a blessing to have her photograph us. We needed a select amount of photos for our engagement party that was just a few weeks from our shoot. She helped us select our photos that were displayed at our party and she had them ordered right away. We had one blown up that we loved and it came out amazing! She even had the frame for us to frame it in and framed our photo for us. In addition to this Marcia created our Save The Dates. We wanted magnets so she created a 5x7 card with a magnet. They were stunning! So professional we couldn't be happier. We invited Marcia to come check out our ceremony and reception location she scoped out the place and even suggested where I should stand so that my hair and/or veil won't blow into my face. Although Marcia was a very sweet, helpful person, the photos we ended up with were horrible. We traveled to Oahu for a family vacation, and were planning to get our only family photos ever (we are a family of 4 with 2 young children) while there. Her website has amazing photos, awesome editing and colors, very artistic, and I just knew she was the photographer for us. She was very considerate and picked us up at our hotel, and then drove about 10 miles or so to Diamond Head beach. Beautful beach for pictures. It was at sunset, so I thought the pictures would be amazing. The wind, very predictably, was very strong. So, a month or so later we received our website with all of the 240 or so pictures on it. I was horrified. The majority of the pictures were awful. The pictures she took with the sun behind us, were unprintable. Either one or all 4 of us had a large white circle ON our face, so you couldn't even see our face. The editing was awful- making my daughter's skin look milky white (we had been laying on the beach all week), our hair was in our faces in 80% of them, and there were no beautiful edited special pictures. I was crushed, we had spent $180, plus a one shot chance at family portraits in Oahu, and ended up with nothing. I was so upset- I emailed her and she offered to sell me 40 pictures on a DVD for a reduced rate of $200 from $400. I just couldn't do it- and decided to save our money for family pictures here locally. I hate to say it, but it was a nightmare experience, such a huge let down- and we have nothing, not even 1 proof to show for it. CHECK REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING! Marcia was very nice but the whole experience was a let-down. I really did my research and I *LOVED* her portfolio. Now I question whether that is really all her work. My wedding was tough, no doubt. I was running late because I got in a car accident on the way to wedding and the ceremony was at sunset so we were racing against the light. But...rather than try to calm this bride's frazzled nerves or make a stressful situation better, Marcia actually made it more stressful. She said she would come with an assistant but arrived solo. Many of the shots she took were NOT technically proficient. I understand that sunset can be tough but my friends standing right beside her got better shots. Most distressingly, there didn't seem to be any emphasis on making people look good. (Maybe this was because it was so rushed, but I had hoped for one flattering bride pic. I got none. ZIP.) Many of her pics were taken from below, which isn't going to make most people look great. She did however yell at us repeatedly and ask us to contort our body into very awkward poses. I truly thought because of these uncomfortable poses, the pics might be amazing but...nope. The pics looked just as weird and awkward as the poses felt. Many of the photos she submitted had peoples' eyes closed. Two pics were of a friend (normally photogenic) scratching his nose and with his mouth hanging open. NO JOKE. I actually sent her a note and asked 'Who would buy those photos?' and she just removed them from the album. There seemed to be no interest in capturing flattering pics of people. For $600+ I got two lovely pics of my husband and me from the back that are usable. Did I mention I didn't like one of the front-facing photos of either my husband or me? Thankfully, I work in TV and several of my friends were taking pictures. Their photos were much better, much more natural, and a thousand times more flattering. read more

When planning my wedding, I knew that I wanted to have the best possible photography experience. As an artist, capturing photographs of our special day was an essential part of the wedding. When at the bridal expo, I met Marcia. I immediately knew that she was who I wanted for our photographer. She was personable, lively, and passionate about her work. When looking through her work, she had a special touch; all her pictures seemed to capture each couple based on their personalities and dynamics. She also loved capturing motion and candid moments. To get a sense of her chemistry with us, we scheduled an engagement photo session with her. As expected, she was fantastic and experimental. The final products turned out great, after receiving our photos, we picked a few to turn into an album. From there, she edited it even further! This really got us excited for our wedding day. Marcia did not let us down on our wedding day. She lived up to everything we expected and more! When we received the proofs, we were reminded of how wonderful the wedding truly was. Everything we weren't able to capture, as well as everything we wanted to remember, was there for us to view. Marcia also provided us with a new feature--an iPhone/iPad "app" that allowed us to view our pictures from our phones! Many people together claim to be "photographers," but I feel as though anyone can get a Nikon or Canon Digital SLR and take a bunch of pics with the probability that some will turn out beautiful. Marcia takes every picture purposefully. When it comes time to edit, my husband and I LOVE how she alters pictures. Sometimes its a blur, or change in filter, but it always gives off a whimsical feel. If you appreciate a true artist with a vibrant personality, Marcia is the perfect fit. read more

I love photography and did extensive research for a photographer on the island that can capture beautiful photographs of our family. I looked into her portfolio and was impress the images that she captured of regular clients. She captured women looking like magazine models. After deciding that she was the one that I wanted to work with, she called me immediately and asked what I wanted. She gave us tips on location and clothing. Once we met her at Waimalo Beach, my children both 4 and 2 warmed up to her easily. She knew how to make us pose and felt at ease. We had so much fun on the beach and sherwood forest that she captured such a great memory. She truly makes every photograph beautiful and the best it can be. She takes the time to edit and make sure the colors shine through. My family and friends saw our gallery and was very impress with her work. I assure you all that you will enjoy what you see after she's done with your session. We planned a destination wedding and I was nervous, particularly about the photographer. I knew that we had one shot and that this would be what we would have to hold onto our memories.
