I have very complicated windows. They are oversized, triangular, and located in places where it is difficult to fit a ladder. And of course they are so high, any window treatment would need to be operated by a remote. Over the past two years, more than 5 companies have come to look at them and they all said "it can't be done". Some didn't have the right shapes,. Some said even if they had the right products, the install was too complicated. However, Alex, from Marcie's Window Fashions, likes a challenge. She said she could do it and she gave me a quote. Still, I was skeptical. How could every other shop (including other Hunter Douglas dealers) say it was impossible and yet Alex was prepared to quote me a fair price? I took the chance because I hated the light pouring through my bedroom windows even at night. Yesterday Don the installer came, and installed my fabulous new shades. They are beautiful, motorized with solar chargers (so I don't need a 16 ft ladder to charge the batteries myself), quiet, and completely block the light that was so bothersome before. And they cleaned up after themselves leaving no mess. As if all that wasn't reason enough to be thrilled, both Alex and Don were a real pleasure to work with. We had Marcie give us a quote for shutters and 1 vertical blind in June 2018. We had other contractors come out as well and the experience with Marcie and her knowledge of her products she sells was over all much better and economically feasible. I called the office to see if they would refer me to the manufacturer to get replacement clips for the repair. We have very large sliding doors in our living room that get blasted with the afternoon sun and so had been searching for the perfect answer to the glare when a friend recommended Marcie's. Even though our rolling shades have not yet been installed - and when they are I will include a tag to this review - I needed to post just to say that Brittany was extraordinary! She is so patient and explained all options and was not the type of person to sell you the most expensive blinds. She listened to what our needs were and showed us the best option. They were large , heavy blinds. Six months later I was ready to fix the window problem. Twenty days later, on 11-06-19, her installer came to my house and installed all nine shutters. The shutters look fantastic and I was amazed how fast they were manufactured and installed. I had shutters at my previous house, but I paid twice as much as what Marcie charges and they took much longer to manufacture.
