We recently had new Hunter Douglas Duette Architella shades installed in our dining & living rooms. We got several quotes, including from Costco. We went with Blue Sky as they are a local small business, their prices were competitive and this type of shade is superior from an insulation standpoint to many others on the market. We fulfilled the dream of buying a home of our own in March 2020. While we waited for the custom shutters to be manufactured and shipped, they even made sure we had plenty of temporary shades to give us the privacy we needed all through our home. At installation, a couple of the shutters came in an imperfect condition. Staci and Alex made sure that new ones were ordered, that we understood that they were not leaving us with these and that completely new units would be installed. These folks have been just great to work with getting shutters and blinds in my new home. The owner actually came out (& I live 40 miles from Reno) and took all the measurements as soon as the window openings were completed (plastered and painted) - before escrow even closed - so that I could get the windows covered as soon as possible after taking possession (who wants to live like a fish in a fishbowl?). One glass door required a custom shutter - it really turned out great and finishes off the entire floor where the rest of the windows have shutters. Their installer was considerate and careful, and just skillfully completed what with what to that point had been a very pleasant and professional process. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these folks no matter the job, big or small, custom or generic (remembering that rarely do any two windows actually have the same size - so to some extent, every window is custom). I can't say enough good things about Blue Sky Shutters and Blinds. Several years ago we replaced almost all the blinds in our home, except one window. At that time, we used a well- known local business and were pleased with the results. Last summer we were ready to replace the blinds on the one remaining window, so I contacted the business we previously used - I emailed, called and left a voice mail, as well as stopped in and left a message (owner wasn't available). That "well-known" business never bothered to respond to me (and still hasn't to this day), so I looked for a different company, and that's how I came across Blue Sky Shutters and Blinds.
