More importantly, there was little to no urgency or effort when it came to collecting rent that was months behind. As the owner, I felt like I was the one pushing for action, instead of being supported by the management company I was paying. A major reason you hire property management is to protect your investment, handle tenant issues, and enforce collections. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. The lack of follow through and accountability cost me both time and money.
