I'm…read morepretty sure I struggled to even read yelp reviews in order to help us finally find some food to eat. So we just decided to walk into town where we stumbled upon this amazing place. The decor and warmth of the restaurant was top notch. The gentleman who greeted us and served us was so helpful. We were so jet lagged I'm sure he had a hard time understanding our mumbles. The menu was easy to read and he was able to pair beers and ciders to us perfectly. The food was amazing. The portions was so big. My wife and split the chicken curry, I had a side of chowder and she had a side salad. We still had food left over because there was so much. My son and the fish and chips and it was devoured. My youngest had the kids fried chicken and said it was the best chicken she's ever had. There wasn't a single complaint about this place. So if you stumble into Ennis lost, hungry, and needing a relaxing place to eat, try this place.

My only negative would be that it needed a bit more juice to it. I ended up asking for some extra gravy but my gosh, I'm glad I did. Possibly the best gravy I've ever had. It was a rich, and thick red wine gravy. It was amazing and when mixed in with the stew, I was in true Irish heaven. Pass me the bread it's time to mop this up! Alex then fancied a dessert and opted for the crumble. I had a spoonful or two and I must say it was very nice. Not usually my kind of dessert but it was sweet and the ice cream creamy. Very nice. The pub itself is very traditional Irish, they had live music playing and the atmosphere and decor was warming with the dark woods and warming fire. Lovely. Well known as a trad pub with great live music at the weekends. Last time I was in there saw a band called araby do a version of florence and the machines cosmic love and honestly thought it was a cd. Great atmosphere especially at weekends and it stays open late. Along with knoxs it would probably be the most consistently busy pub in ennis. The fish was decent, unfortunately like all other places, it was not seasoned. The fish came out fast. The fish are fried in advance and placed under the warmer, but they don't sit around too long as turnaround is quick. Inside, you have two dining area to your left and right, nothing fancy and some dining tables outside by the main door. I do appreciate that you can choose different fish types for your fish and chips. They need to do better job of cleaning the tables, didn't really see anyone taking care of the dining tables during our visit.

They use a Brown Crab I believe, which is kind of like a stone crab that we have in Florida, but served hot. DELICIOUS!! Main course was a seafood pasta and grilled Hake. Both amazing. I can't say enough great things about Linnane's! I would come back here in a heart beat. This was some of the freshest seafood I've had in a long time.
