In need for alterations to get a work blazer taken in, I found this location online after a quick google search for a tailor in my area. I had high hopes, but was unaware that my poor blazer would be left coming undone at the seams, and only slightly more fitted, after it's 3 week stay at Margret's Sew Clean. Upon walking into Margret's Sew Clean, you are immediately greeted by an overwhelming, but mainly pleasant scent that's reminiscent of a fall candle. The aroma provides a nostalgic touch, which seems to linger on your garments for days after picking them up, serving as a constant reminder for Margret's mediocre work. When I first arrived, I explained to the nice looking blonde woman at the counter, who I now know to be named Julie, of my needs and was escorted to a small dressing room. There I tried on my blazer, while she pinned it to the desired fit. The process was quick, simple, and left me at ease, thinking I was leaving my sweet blazer in the hands of a caring professional. Little did I know, this confidence was quite literally about to be unraveled at the seams. After 3 weeks of waiting, I received the much anticipated notification from Margret's...my order was ready for pickup. I arrived near the end of the day that the message was sent, eager to take home my newly fitted blazer. Julie, the same woman who had fitted me a few weeks prior, asked for my name and promptly found my garment on the large, circular, metal rack, which seemed to hold at least a hundred other items of clothing. My dearly missed blazer was wrapped nicely in the same plastic garment cover used at most dry cleaners and draped over the hanger I brought it in on. Her prices were reasonable at about $30 to get a blazer taken in, but I guess labors cheap when you only finish the job halfway. I left Margret's Sew Clean that evening, wrapped garment in hand, with a feeling of relief that I had finally had the opportunity to check this long awaited task off of my to-do list. When I got home, I carefully took the plastic encasing off of my blazer and slipped it on. I will say that it fit better than when I originally brought it in, but no where near the way it was pinned on me. I'm aware that nothing is perfect, and I'm by no means a seamstress, but there was definitely room for it to be taken it at least 1-2 more inches. This however, was not my issue with Margret's service. The problem arose when I took a closer look and realized that the seams of my blazer were quite undeniably coming undone. I again would like to mention that I am not a seamstress, but I would like to think of myself as competent enough to rightfully be under the impression that when you take an item to a tailor, you receive it fully sewed, and not in a worse condition than when you had it in your procession before. I am not only left disappointed, with a distain for fall scented candles, highly inconvenienced, but also feeling betrayed by Margret's Sew Clean. I entrusted them to complete a straightforward task and am now out of $30 and left with a blazer that is falling apart at the seams. I raise this review as a cautionary tail of my experiences with this business and ask you to consider exploring your other options. My story doesn't have to become yours and you don't deserved to be ripped off like me and all of the EXXON workers that I discover were also deceived by Margret's Sew Clean. Apparently there is a lack of basic knowledge when it comes to how ethics should be applied when running a business, including a history of scamming entire corporations, to leaving work unfinished but charging customers as if the job was completed. I hope that the owner of this business learns to find passion in her work again, as I know life after lockup can be difficult to readjust to, but rehabilitation is possible. And to all of the customers of Margret's Sew Clean, I hope that the stitching of your garments holds together better than Julie's commitment to quality work. TDLR: My blazer was left unfinished, the seams coming undone, and an obvious lack of business ethics. read more

I took several costume pieces to her to be cleaned including an unusual long fur vest. When I picked up the costume pieces, the vest was missing. She made me feel that I had not brought it in even though I had the receipt where I had left it and paid for it. She claimed to look for it, but now three months later has never contacted me to apologize, offer to reimburse me, replace it or even mention it further. Absolutely HORRIBLE service, and ridiculous prices. This lady was not only ridiculously rude, but actually had to audacity to challenge me to find someone cheaper than she is. She charged me $100+ dollars just to taper 3 shirts plus put zippers in, and it took her 2 WEEKS to do it. Also, the dry cleaning is very subpar. I requested that stains be removed from the collar of some white dress shirts, I got them back, without starch, (I requested heavy starch) and the stains still in place. My girlfriend went to pick everything up,I told her that it was paid for, and the lady said it wasn't. My girlfriend called me on the phone to confirm, and I said that I was coming up there. When I got there, the lady left, and had her employee try to sort it out. I had the poor employee call her on the phone to speak to me, and she (the owner) was very rude and full of excuses. I recommend going somewhere else with better and faster customer service, as well as cheaper prices.... Yes, there a plenty of them out there that are MUCH BETTER THAN YOU MARGARET! Also, she does NOT adhere to the hours of operation that she has posted. Often she opens late and closes early. read more
