I absolutely love this place! My dog had ripped one of my favorite bodysuits and they reconstructed the whole piece! Amazing!! I am also very pleased with the rest of the other alterations I have taken in, such as : readjusting the waist on my jeans, changing zippers and hemming of a particular asymmetrical dress, which I was also quite impressed with how precise the alteration was. I asked to get a bridesmaid dress with about 3 layers hemmed several inches. I didn't need to make an appointment. At the store, I wore the dress along with the heels I'm going to wear so they could show me how much they would take off. It took them only 1 week to finish, and it looked great. I tried on one more time with my heels to show them before paying. It came about to about $37 total, which seemed like a pretty good value for a quick, well-done job. read more

This past weekend, I had a bridesmaid fashion emergency and Ta Tailors came in like superheroes to save the day. A bridesmaid dress I got had the zipper break the night before the wedding. No tailor shops were open, but I took another dress with two layers to Ta first thing in the morning and they completed the work super quick and so well that I thought at first nothing had been done since it looked like the original manufacturing. The dress fit so well and the wedding that afternoon was saved. Also, the work was done for a reasonable price and of superb quality. They did great work and i couldn't even discern the new stitches from the old ones. They also reconstructed some pants pockets for me (Because pants without pockets are useless. to make a long story short, i tried putting my iphone in my pocket and apparently it was just a giant hole. that iphone took a long journey all the way down my pantleg. now THAT was awkward.) Got a peacoat fixed here after it developed a tear on the inside along one of the stitches. They had it ready in a few business days and only charged $5. The fix appears to be well done and should be good for awhile. The staff were friendly and had it done on time (about 4 business days). Cash only, so make sure to plan accordingly. Horrible experience! The people here are procrastinators! I dropped of my dress to be altered and was told to come back in one week to pick it up. I came back in exactly one week and my dress was not ready. They never even started on it! Then I told them I won't be able to come back for a few months to pick it up thinking that would give them plenty of time to alter my dress. Its in the little shopping center at the NW corner of Bay Area Blvd and Hwy 3 (with Dollar Store, Sport Clips, SAS shoes, Bedrock City, and a few more). I've had suit pants tailored there and a zipper replaced on a pair of jeans. Just this week, I took in some new hiking pants to have the pockets extended--although designed for travel, the zippered rear pockets were too shallow to fit a regular wallet, let alone a passport. The lady at the counter had trouble understanding me, but got another employee from the back who immediately understood my request and told me it'd be $5 each plus tax, cash only. That seems totally reasonable to me. I picked them up 4 days later and they are perfect for my needs. The ladies there were all very nice and I highly recommend this place for alterations. read more

I brought in a pair of jeans to get hemmed since they were long for me. Easy enough, right? I tried on the jeans so the seamstress could get an idea where to sew and I asked for one centimeter shorter. She refused and whined that it would be too short. Once I got it back it was one centimeter too long and now that I have worn it for a few months, I can now confirm that my jeans are tattered since the jeans are still too long. Twice now i've had this happen at this place. Took in long sleeve blouses/tops to have sleeves shortened to just above elbows. Owner pinned sleeves exactly where i wanted them to be shortened to. Last year (2016) there were 3 tops where the gals in back doing the alterations didn't pay attention to where the sleeves were pinned - so they cut and hemmed them much too short. Owner still had the cut off material and said she'd have material sewn back on to try to fix. But the 3 tops looked awful with the material sewn on to the sleeves; i donated them to Goodwill. Owner apologized, said she'd be sure it never happened again - she'd supervise. I took some clothes in to be altered after this BIG mistake and they were okay. But just 2 weeks ago (2017)i took in 2 blouses to have long sleeves cut down to elbow length. One was brand new Talbots top - NOT cheap! Owner pinned sleeves on both tops at the length i wanted them cut down/hemmed. I double-checked where the pins were put just to be sure! But when i went to pick them up, OH NO! The sleeves were cut much too short! Same mistake again! Owner would not take any responsibility, argued with me where she had placed the pins. I told her i double-checked, and said she knew i always have my sleeves cut & hemmed to just above the elbows. There is not enough supervision to the people doing the actual alterations. They are under pressure to get the jobs done, get in a hurry, become careless! I would NOT take in any clothes that are special to you or that are real valuable. Because there is good chance your clothes won't end up altered exactly to your specifications. read more

Horrible experience. Took my daughters wedding dress to be taken up on the sides and add the bussel. All they did was add silver hooks on the back that were visible and argued with us when we said that is not what we wanted. Took the dress up but not the lining.. After 2 tries paid the $175 (very over priced) and walked out the door. My dress needed to be hemmed, asked them and they wanted to charge $140 as said it had to be done by hand. So we went to one by the mall, they fixed it and charged a lot less. Then to hem my dress it was $40 and still was hemming it by hand. This place might be good for minor repairs but that's it and they are very over priced.. read more
