This was our second time ordering as an employee group and the second time we did not receive a large portion of our order. They were rude when we called to let them know what was missing and when we returned to the restaurant to get the missing food we were called liars and made to pay again for the missing food items. Will not order from them again and will inform my coworkers at the hospital not to use them. read more

Was visiting for out of town, found this place on accident! I loved the food. The decor was a little strange, it was Asian, Spanish, and European. Once our food was served, our server disappeared, but there was a lot of food to keep me busy. I recommend this place. read more

Just like the original, but a little something to add flavor to the beans and rice. Jorge and Ivan have done themselves proud. Maybe a little less busy than the original, but I suspect that will end when all of N. Topeka discovers this Topeka treasure. They've added queso con carne as an appetizer or side. Try it, you'll love it. All the favorites are here too -- polo feliz, pollo palalpa, burrito grandotte and Ivan's tacos. Work your way through the entire menu before picking a favorite. This is a frustrating post. I called to place a to go order. The lady that answer the phone ask me if I could hold. I said yes. What I didn't expect was to be on hold for 37 minutes. Yes I said 37 minutes. I normally wouldn't wait that long before hanging up. After being on hold for 5 minutes I decided I was going to make their phone busy so they would possibly loss business from call in orders. After 37 minutes of waiting someone hung the phone up. I called back to place my order. When I went to pick it up I gave them a ear full. They lady apologized saying I'm sorry I'm working by myself. I don't believe that because when I parked my vehicle to go inside she was outside talking to another lady dressed in a work appron. There was a gentleman also with them that I recognize from being there before when I went to pick up food. I think she was too busy socialising with her workers she forgot to come back to the phone to take my order. I will think twice before I order from them again. Good food poor service. Sad this happen to me. Hopefully this was a one time problem or they will lose business from other customers. That could cause them to have to close the business from lack of people coming there. read more

Was hungry for Mexican food. Stopped in for a take out lunch, May 3. When I got the bag home I could not believe what I saw. One little tiny cold taco. Styrofoam container, opened it and was horrified, beans were liquid and were all over tortilla filled with hamburger. It was so disgusting looking no one would have wanted to eat it, /There was also a little cold container of some kind of thin sauce that tasted awful and a bag of chips with grease spots all over it, When i first went in was not impressed with cleanliness of place. The asked if I wanted order to go. Said yes. She pointed to a counter and a person in the back. He wanted to take my order. I said don't you have a menu? I don't know what you have to offer. After I got it and made what I thought would be a good choice, Got the order and went home. This my favorite Mexican restaurant in Topeka. Reminds me of the delicious Mexican food I ate growing up in So. Cal. The staff is great, the food is good and the Margaritas are the best. Give it a try, or 4 or 5 tries. You won't be disappointed, unless you're looking for the bland Tex-Mex most Topekans rave about. read more

First time eating out at Margaritas Jalisco and I wasn't all that impressed. I had heard from a friend that the service was poor but I gave the place the benefit of the doubt and tried it. I would have to agree and say the service wasn't up to par. With being a new location the service should be exceptional. The food was decent, portions were not as big as expected for the price. To start off with if I could give this zero stars I would. I went to this restaurant with my family and the food was awful. The rice tasted like it was reheated in the microwave and was mushy and stuck together. The tacos were barely edible and to make things worse the employers were rude and the atmosphere was terrible. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town! Gorge, the owner is awesome! Fresh food, friendly atmosphere and great Margaritas!

We have eaten here three times now, all for lunch. The food was very good! We have pretty much only ordered things with chicken every time delicious. Service was ok, not exceptional, not horrible. All in all we are pleased with this restaurant. The decor has a bit to be desired although they have some remarkable paintings. I think I saw Chinese writing on one of the tables, which was a bit different but we believe that items should be re-used or repurposed when possible, so kudos for that. I don't have a lot a good things to say about this place. I gave it 3 tries. The 1st 2 times I couldn't even get waited on. The 1st time, I sat at the bar and no one even acknowledged that I was there. Same thing happened to my son and I the 2nd time I tried to eat there. I decided to give it one last go. This time I decided I would call in my order that way at least I would get waited on. I called in asked for a taco, an enchilada, and cheese dip. I was told that I would be ready in 5 minutes. I told them that I would be there in a little more than 5 minutes and did they need my name. I was told no because they weren't busy. I got there 8 minutes after I called. My food hadn't even been prepared yet. When I got my food, I was told be very careful with the bag. I found out that the bag had not be packed very well. So I get home, the taco was ok. The enchilada was passable, but the sauce was very sweet and had very little cheese on it. Now the cheese dip, while pretty good, was not even melted. I would not recommend this place at all. 3 strikes and they are out. read more
