I emailed Trish for some more information on pricing and was pleasantly surprised by the price. I went with her maternity and newborn session package as it was the best deal I could find and I knew I wanted both done. Now not knowing Trish at all before going into the shoot I was nervous. I have never done a professional shoot before or any kind of pictures done with a photographer. To my surprise, she was truly amazing. She was open to finding a spot that I wanted for the maternity shoot. We even had a few hiccups due to weather. Trish was professional yet friendly enough to make me feel comfortable when posing. She even was open to getting any poses or images I wanted to recreate (Not every photographer allows that). I personally think she did a better job then the photos I showed her off Pinterest. I love every single shot from my maternity shoot. Once our little munchkin was born we brought our munchkin to Lovely Daze Studio. The amount of patience that Trish had with our little one was a blessing. She was determined to get the shots that I wanted and she sure did! I was so nervous having someone else handle my newborn but she was so gentle. All of our photos came out amazing ! We ended up getting a beautiful memory book of the photos. I'm a bit Type A with event planning, especially with this one. The venue recommended Allan Reider and I can see why. A couple weeks before the event, I visited the country club to familiarize myself with the space then called him to save the date. While he was friendly and jokey, he was serious and knowledgeable about the details. I was almost finished developing a video slideshow of my friend's life and wanted the final version shown as much as possible at the event to honor his wishes. Allan recommended showing it on loop in one of the rooms near the entry above a fireplace on a plasma TV and in the main banquet hall on a 7-foot screen via projector. This was exactly what I wanted. I dropped off the slideshow on Blu-ray a week before the event then Allan and his crew tested it on multiple players at their studio. A couple of days before the memorial, I received a family member's request for a song to be played during the eulogy. Allan gave me options and recommended the best bang for the buck. The day of the memorial, Allan called and texted me a couple of hours before the start time to assure me that everything was already set and in place. Come showtime- seamless! They charge outrageous prices for single photos/digital images, as well as photography packages, which should be a value.. We are NOT a low-income family; however, the prices they charge are disgusting. Their cheapest package was in the 200 dollar range and that included just one pose and 3-4 photos. I call that highway robbery! If I think they are overpriced, I can only imagine what people from a lower income bracket feel when they just want to remember their child's senior year but cannot afford it. They keep emailing you telling you, "This is the last chance to order your child's senior photos..." but then they do not even offer a cheaper price or a coupon to just get a few of them! I am also going to voice my opinion about this to the school and the district because they clearly chose to use this company at the high school level when they use another, much more affordable photo company for all of the schools below grade 9. Lors, do better. I will be taking my child to JCPenney myself and getting my own, affordable portraits taken to avoid getting ripped off by sheisters like you.

Megan Yates recently photographed my family in a documentary style photo shoot. The shoot took…read moreplace in my home over a 3 hour period. The final product feels like a moving love poem to our crazy, beautiful life. The photos capture our reality in a way that posed photos never can or will. And to be clear -- these aren't "let's dress pretty and pretend to be candid" photos. She somehow was able to blend into the surroundings and just capture my kids being kids. She reassured me that we didn't have to look or act a certain way -- the beauty is in the imperfect tiny moments. Even when my kids starting fighting over a knocked down tower of magnatiles, she found a way to create art: you see a little brother crying, yearning to be just like his big brother; a big brother deeply saddened that he has to deal with his kid brother knocking down his masterpiece, but controlling his frustration and not hitting back; and a mom consoling both children in different but equal ways. I love the images now. But I think that some day, maybe 10 or 20 or even 30 years from now, it will be these images that I'll treasure more than any.
