I had my first mammogram this morning, and I was feeling a little nervous. From the moment Hannah called my name, she immediately put me at ease. She explained every step of the process clearly, answered my questions, and was incredibly kind and compassionate throughout the appointment. Hannah's professionalism and knowledge were evident, and I could truly tell that she loves what she does and cares about her patients. Literally awful. Went back in feb for really bad migraines on the left side of my head thats i had since dec.They made my eye feel dilated, and made my life miserable. They sent me home with ibuprofen. My Girlfriend recently had to go for a cyst on her tail bone and back pain. They told her she had a bruise and bad posture and ignored her hypoglycemia and sent her home with muscle relaxers, ibuprofen and lidocaine. The muscle relaxers were ment to be off the market. She has a life threatening cyst and has to get surgery. It takes forever to get called and the staff so obviously doesn't care. They are un professional in the front office, they don't put you in a room and constantly misdiagnose. Don't put your life in the hands of these people and hope they get shut down. read more

I had a diabetic emergency where I home tested for ketones. I went to the emergency room in louisburg and was treated as a heart patient and not for someone with high ketones. I spent 6 hours in the ER and was sent home still with high ketones. Fortunately I have a very good endocrinologist who isn't affiliated with Maria Parham and was able to get my ketones down the day after my discharge. Quality of care is questionable i was not dehydrated and I had a good vein for an IV. The nurse still "couldn't find a vein" I'm not a medical doctor but I could have hit that vein from across the room and still she missed. Twice. Not recommended for true emergencies. I was in Maria Parham PT Unit for 10 days the months of Mar and Apr...I give both the nursing staff plus CNAs 5 stars...The Physical Therapy guys and gals were evil (Just Kidding) Erin would take that as a compliment ...They got me functioning again enough to pass all the therapy tests they gave me...all the therapists were very professional yet maintained good humor thruout the whole program ...I would and have already recommended Maria Parham to two of my closest friends...Thanks for a good job MP !!!!!! House of horrors!!! Selfish people except for the nurses who are always compassionate and sincere. Other staff members make it so obvious it is all about the money. Dr Dolan destroyed my life by proven improper care where he literally threatened me to stay on his choice of medication that I am allergic to during a hospitalization. I had an awesome medical experience at this community hospital - trauma center - specifically the radiology department. From the Team member at the entrance to being wheeled out to my vehicle - my customer service was first rate - everyone was patient- kind- caring- professional- the registration team members- Patrick - Timothy - the radiologist technician specialists & the Radiologist- Dr- I couldn't spell his name -was so courteous- the specialists & Dr thoroughly explained the pre- procedure- & post procedure several times- step by step- I was apprehensive but this team did their best to decrease the anxiety to the least level. I felt I was in very competent hands.My privacy was upheld during a fairly invasive procedure but I was treated in the most professional manner possible. read more

I am always impressed that the outside grounds are so litter-free, well-kept, and manicured. Every area of this Hospital looks so nice and is fresh and clean. The receptionist at the entrance of the Hospital is very attentive, kind, and friendly. She makes sure that she speaks to you when you enter the Hospital. I had an appointment for an X-ray and the intake staff was very pleasant. I was happy at how prompt they were in getting me into the radiology dept for my X-ray. All of the radiology staff team members were friendly and helpful. They also took the time to answer questions that I had. I recommend Maria Parham Hospital for their professional, pleasant, and caring services to everyone. read more

This place has a reputation for being unprofessional and that is very accurate. I had took my mother in law to the ER because she couldn't breathe. We had a wait time of 2 hours. When she was finally seen, they misdiagnosed her. They said it was just pneumonia, nothing serious and it was indeed serious, she had a terminal illness and they told us everything was ok. Imagine that. I won't type everything out, but if you care about yourself or anyone, don't come here. It's very visible that these people do not like their jobs and I've had a couple of them say it out loud. Save your time and go to Duke if you can or literally anywhere but here. I truly hope they get shut down. read more

I would give them a negative number if i could! Came in on ambulance this past saturday night in middle of a Crohns disease flare up that i thought I was dieing from. Thought my guts busted. Doc refused to listen to my stomach, said "i can't do anything for u if u have Crohns", say what. He said see ur GI doctor, i said have been for past 6 months i have an issue he's been trying to identify, hello Maria Parham Health listen to me. I was so delirious that i didnt know my name or adresss ans that pissed them off from the start. They only care about billling info then leave u alone seperated from my wife for hours. No help, no evaluation and not even a IV bag. No really, doctor daid my blood work was way low, hello that means I'm telling the truth about having a long term Crohns epidemic. But still no IV fluids, meds, vitamins or even offered a drink of water! Was them discharged, yes crazy from an ambulance. I was then stuck at this hell hold in only wet shorts n shirt, no shoes, wallet, phone. No cab, lift or uber would come here to get me. They must already know to stay away. If u need basi. Medical attention Do Not Go to Maria Parham Health! Duke should be ashamed to have there name on this so called hospital. read more

I was seen in the emergency room today. This experience was not something I am use too from health care providers. They sat me in the waiting room for over 5 hours with no treatment. When I requested to be released I was then yelled at by the triage nurse for something the attending PA failed to do. When your sick the last place you want to be treated like a criminal is at the hospital. This place is horrible to African Americans, economically challenged, socially displaced, etc. For a town that has its challenges, this should not be on of them. Yes I'm seeking a formal complaint route. read more

My sister was taken to Maria Purham today because she was hurting bad and come to find out its ketones, she also has diabetes and is a minor so my mom went with her. They didn't treat her for what she went for the even gave her what was supposed to be IV was something that a diabetic isn't supposed to take and she was given two bags of it. She was also basically placed in a closet/ for triage, no one checked up on her so my mother had to go find some doctor because they weren't doing their job. She told them how bad she had started hurting and she was crying they told her in 15 minutes they will check on her they still didn't, my mother once again had to go get a doctor and they didn't do anything, so she left before anything got worse and went to Granville Medical. No one should ever trust them and they need to be sued for mistreatment and they need to be closed down or at least find some real doctors and nurses that actually care for the patients and not just care about the pay check they will be receiving. read more

About 2 months ago, i had to go to Maria Parham with a kidney stone. Was not given pain meds that I was given for years even after I asked (I've had about 15 stones that required hospital). The drip that was put in my arm was not put in right, causing the drip not to work properly. After 2.5 hours, the Dr came by my room because I was still there. She put the drip in right and it finished. About 6 months ago I cut my hand and needed stiches. Was given an x-ray within one hour and after sittinh in waiting room for 3.5 more hours. I asked someone passing for a band-aid and was then taken in a hallway and the cut was super glued and I left. I have no confidence in MP. read more

My husbend had been bitten by a tick. He had a fever that made him sweat and had chills. We got to MP at 12:23 He was checked in at the front dest and a wrist band was put on. We sat in the waiting area for 3.5 hours. He was never took back for vitals. We left and went to Oxford. We got there at 4:03 and we where out at 6:36. Never again will i go to MP read more

My Daughter had to go to the ER 1/5/2019 because she fractured her wrist. We were treated exceptionally well by all staff from Registration, nurses, radiology and Doctor. We were in and out of the ER within 2 hours and that included the X-ray, time for Radiologist to read X-ray and seeing Doctor and discharge. Very pleased with the entire experience. read more
