Absolutely unacceptable experience. The front desk staff repeatedly entered me as the primary insured even though I clearly explained multiple times that I am covered under my parents' insurance plan. Instead of listening, they continued entering the wrong information and repeatedly told me my insurance had been "terminated." The problem wasn't my insurance--it was their inability or unwillingness to process the information correctly. A simple mistake turned into a complete waste of my time because no one stopped to actually listen. The level of incompetence was shocking. Rather than trying to solve the issue, they kept insisting the system was right even after I explained exactly what was wrong. It felt like basic problem-solving and customer service were completely absent. On top of that, the office atmosphere was terrible. Staff appeared disengaged, several were on their phones, and no one seemed interested in helping patients. The entire place felt unprofessional and poorly managed. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. I'd gladly drive to Oxford or Durham before ever coming back here. This office seriously needs better training, better management, and staff who actually listen to patients instead of creating problems that never should have existed. read more

Worst place ever. Was going here every week for bad cough and congestion and mind you I am 33 weeks pregnant. Doctor continues to tell me I can take anything pregnant and continues to tell me I just have a cold. My OB then tells me a month later I have a severe sinus infection and wants to test for pneumonia if medication can't help bc of how serve it has become!!! All the doctors and front desk workers are extremely rude!! read more

i injured myself while camping in the area, and was blessed to find FastMed Urgent Care to treat me! I did not have an appointment but didn't wait long. Registration was easy, the staff was welcoming, and Michael had a great bedside manner. Went in for a leg wound requiring stiches. 10 days later went back and they were pulled. Wound immediately opened back up. Treated it with temporary stiches for several days then went back again. Did nothing but put more temporary stiches on it. Week later went elsewhere and got anti biotics. 4 weeks later and the wound still isn't healed. Place charged me twice. Physicals, urine tests, sprains might be ok but I wouldn't go for anything more severe. read more

Went to urgent care Henderson Beckford drive 6, :30 .having pain plenty ear pain level 8 / 10. I was told I could not be seen because patients must have appointment to be seen. I sat appointment for 11:00 next morning. I arrived at urgent care at 10:40 am. 3 people in waiting area. I was not taken in back to see doctor at 12 noon.I waited another 50 minutes to be seen. ,and I still have not been seen by a doctor. Yesterday when I came there were only 2 people in waiting area. When told I need to make appointment and come back next day.why is it called Fast med or urgent care they say you need appointment to be seen. read more

I had a terrible experience here, but mine had nothing to do with the wait. We were actually seen quite quickly. My son presented with high fever, random vomiting, and headache. He was also complaining of slight pain around his ear, but it was more general head pain. I was concerned because his temp had reached 103.6 earlier in the day. I gave a complete and full history to the nurse, including the headache and vomiting symptoms. I did mention he has a history of ear infections. He was seen very briefly by the PA. He did a very basic exam and determined he had a bilateral ear infection and told me he could call in the prescribed antibiotic if I wanted him to (which I thought was weird - why wouldn't you just call it in?). Overall I was less then impressed with his exam and demeanor but because he is prone to ear infections I assumed that is what this was. We got him home and he immediately vomited the amoxicillin and Motrin I tried to give him. I was eventually able to get him to keep it down. Today he woke up and wasn't any better after two full doses of antibiotic. His fever again went up to 103.6 and he was shaky. He vomited again when trying to give medication. I was able to get him in with his Pediatrician. His normal Pediatrician looked in both his ears and said they were clear. He then did a good exam, TALKED TO MY SON, and took into consideration his whole entirety of symptoms. He looked at his throat and said that, coupled with the vomiting, headaches and high fever were classic signs of strep. He said he did not have an ear infection and that two doses of antibiotic would not have cleared up a true ear infection. Basically he was misdiagnosed. On top of that I looked at the discharge paperwork and it said he was presenting for ear pain, which is NOT what I told them. I gave them a full history including my concerns about the vomiting and the fact he had had two full days of a headache. He was diagnosed with something that he did not have and symptoms were ignored that could have gotten us a true diagnosis yesterday. Thankfully the antibiotic is the same for both. But what if it wasn't? What if it was something more serious that was missed. I will not go back and cannot in good conscious recommend it to anyone else. read more

I'm on vacation and this is the closest medical office to where I'm staying. I fractured my ankle and can't walk, came here to get it looked at and was turned away because they don't do walk ins. When I told them I drove an hour the lady said they have one opening for 5:30 (it's 12:45 right now). I assume an emergency care facility had at least two openings for emergency patients. read more

I highly recommend FastMed in Henderson, NC. Upon a recent trip we were treated with professionalism and supportive care of a loved one. From the moment we entered the front door All staff treated us like family. Julianne, Ashley and Brittany went over and beyond to provide the care that was needed...staying until well past closing time even though their families were waiting for them at home. My family and I have utilized this urgent care on several occasions over the last couple of years and have found the staff to be professional and caring. The Drs are VERY THROUGH. and really concern about you getting better. This location is always very clean and serve you is a very timely matter. This is the only urgent care I use. I showed up at 8:00 today and it wasn't open even though it's suppose to be .. at 8:05 I called number on the door and was told " I'm waiting for rest of my staff to get here" at 8:19 staff arrived .. walked into the door at 8:20 and told the girl I was having severe chest pain she proceeded to ask for ID and insurance card.. I did not have my insurance card and again repeated that I was having severe chest pain .. this lady proceeded to smirk at me and argue with me about insurance card when I'm standing there having severe chest pain. This is so far past unprofessional it's not even funny. I will never return to this place and if that's the type of service they provide then it needs to be shut down. read more

Don't bother with their "quick" on-line check in! Such a joke. My wife checked in online for an 8:30 appt. On sunday morning, we even recieved a text at 8:10 reminding us to be there at 8:30. Here it is 9:30 and still sitting in the waiting room. All the other walkins were seen but not us. Gave us some bs excuse that because our insurance company (BCBS) did not have co-pays printed on the ID card we had to put a credit card on file. Then we were told by the nurse that the 8:30 was NOT an appointment time just a suggested time. Never again. read more

Today was my first visit to FastMed Urgent Care in Henderson, NC and I admit I was skeptical because I have had bad experiences in the past with "Urgent Care" type facilities. I was having an asthma flare-up and had not realized that my rescue inhaler was running out and I had no more refills. After multiple attempts to get in touch with the doctor who originally wrote my prescription (quite a while ago), I decided to give FastMed a try. I could not have been HAPPIER with the service I received. The wait time was minimal, and Dr. Wendell Johns was very caring and concerned, taking the time to review my history and asking quite a few questions before giving me a breathing treatment right there at the office and writing the prescriptions I needed to overcome this episode. I waited over an hour even though I did everything online, even scanning in my ID. They diagnosed me with just a UTI and gave me antibiotics. The NP wasn't concerned that all my symptoms were on their "get help immediately if..." list from the packet they gave me. I ended up going to the ER the same day because I felt something wasn't right, turns out I had a kidney infection and had to have IV antibiotics and I was getting septic. Their negligence is inexcusable, instead of listening to my symptoms and letting me know they couldn't treat me I was sent home with antibiotics and told to come back in 3 days if I didn't feel better, that advice could have been deadly. I've tried to contact their customer relations department and have been ignored for a week. read more

I had an scheduled appointment this morning I checked in with no problem, the receptionist took me to the room to wait on the Medical Assistant. Medical assistant, came in asked me my why I was there: I explained chronic sinus issues, headache x 4 days. She asked if I've been around anyone with covid not that I'm aware of, routine question. I wear a mask when I'm not around my family. The MA stated people lie and you have all the signs of covid; have you been tested? I stated no but if you feel I need it, and the insurance covers it you can test me. She argued with me; called me a liar in front of the receptionist in the lobby. The doctor acted as if he had an attitude with his arms folded when he entered the room, I told him the exact same thing. I have a headache x 4 days. I have chronic sinusitis, that's why I'm here. So now every symptom you have can be covid. They refused to give me the covid test, MA stated she didn't say that I have symptoms of covid. MA was very unprofessional arguing with me and I told her stop over talking me, she's a public servant worker and she should not be allowed to talk to anyone the way she was talking . I spoke in the same manner as she spoke to me. The receptionist intervened. This is a job you need unless you wouldn't get up early and work. I stated to her I'm gonna report you and make sure to leave a negative review on your behavior. MA stated "I don't care". I will continue to push forward with this situation. I'm not saying all that was said, it would be about four pages, this sums it up in a nut shell. Hire professional people and she brags I work at Duke.
