I hired this mariachi for my moms 65th birthday celebration on 8/25. I was looking for a mariachi in the Ontario area and found Mariachi Tecuala here on yelp. They did not have a lot of reviews but all of the reviews they had were excellent so I decided to give them a try. They were responsive, showed up on time and best of all they have a female in their group. I don't know mariachi music that well but everyone, friends and family, at the party loved them and said they sing and play really well. I found Mariachi Tecuala here on Yelp. I contacted them one day before the booking date I needed. I was responded to within a few minutes. I received a quote for a one hour performance. Which was for that upcoming Saturday morning at 7am. My family and I wanted to surprise my mother for her birthday with a mariachi serenade. Jesus and his mariachi band made all this possible. Jesus was a complete pleasure to speak to over the phone as well as in person. They arrived on time and were ready to go as planned. My mother woke to Las Mañanitas playing at her window. She came out of her room and was so touched she was shed tears of pure joy. Not only was I initially impressed by their professionalism but when they began to play and sing, my whole family was taken back with delight. They harmonize and sing so beautifully. They have a true talent. They knew all the songs we asked them to play and they had such great personalities. Even though it was a small audience with it just my immediate family Mariachi Tecuala performed as if they were on stage in a grand auditorium. They did an absolute terrific job. We were all brought to tears at one point or another during their performance. I was so nervous that I had contracted them on such a short notice that they wouldn't turn out to be a good hire but they were amazing. I would not hesitate to contract them again for another future family event. I highly recommend them. Go ahead and book, they will not dissapoint you. I hired Mariachi Tecuala for my mother's 100th birthday party. Wow!...is all I can say. They were amazing! Everyone loved them and I know they handed out a few business cards at my party. I hired them along with Rico Espinoza the Flamenco guitarist/DJ. Rico played instrumental guitar to set the tone for the first hour and then Mariachi Tecuala came in and played for two hours. They took a little break and Rico filled in with his amazing DJ mix. When the Mariachi left, Rico stayed as out DJ. It was the perfect mix of two different musicians with three different sounds. I really hate to give this low review bc I really wanted to like this group, especially with the beautiful harp they use, one of the main reasons we hired them. But to be honest my husband and I feel completely ripped off by this group and for various reason. We just want to put it out there for if and when you do decide to hire this group. To start Chuy is a cool guy, he's responsive and does maintain in contact but it takes a lot more than that to meet your customers expectations. We hired this group for our wedding to play for 3 hours. Granted the ceremony was about 30-35 mins but being that my husband and I wanted mariachi for the entrance of our ceremony and for when we both exited after the ceremony we agreed to hire them for 3 hours versus 2 which would have been only for the dinner. The mariachi then stood around for the entire ceremony and did not play other than the two songs, I guess you can say it was their 'free time' 'break' so I figured ok, once cocktail hour starts they can sing away for a good while, that did NOT happen bc as Chuy informed me when I asked where the mariachi was going, they get 2, 15 min breaks. I thought to myself, they had a 30-35 min break during the ceremony but ok, I did not say anything. My husband and I then ate our wedding dinner with no mariachi as we wished bc the mariachi NEEDED to take a break and not just ANY break a lunch break, our food, our ALCOHOL, OUR TIME!!! They all ended up enjoying our wedding dinner and our open bar and let me tell you that didn't take 15 min, it was more like 30 mins give and take. Now I don't mind sharing our dinner or drinks but not on my time!!! How about you eat and drink after you complete my hired hours? My husband had to send someone to get them off their 30 not their 15 bc our wedding had no music. To say the least there were a lot of different times during dinner with no music, it's sad bc we spent a good $1,425 with the harp. My husband and I did the math bc we literally had to ask each other a few times, 'where's the mariachi'???? It got to the point where taking time was simple bc they were gone more than they played. We totaled to them only playing for a total of 80 mins, so basically one hours rate of $475 was paid to them so they can be on a break, have dinner and drinks. Not to mention one of my uncles offered to pay them another hour and they refused bc they had somewhere else to attend. Now I completely understand that but that explains why on our time they took advantage and enjoyed dinner etc. Very disappointed. I recommend you time manage accordingly and do celebrate with the event but perhaps once you have completed your mariachi services. I hope this helps the group as well as a future client. read more

We initially hired them for 2 hours but our guests enjoyed them so much we ended up paying an extra hour. I usually don't write reviews but i don't want the same thing happening to others that happened to us. Chuy the person we spoke with yesterday 1/23 said he and five of his mariachis were booked for the date and time requested but his group was 12 mariachis and he could send the other six but not himself. Okay, we could live with that. He asked for a deposit on Venmo and it was provided. On 1/24 I began receiving messages and phone calls from a number I did not recognize. We'll come to find out that Chuy did not have anyone available from his Mariachi to attend the event that a day before he quickly took my deposit for. He had another mariachi contact me and say he was sorry but Chuy could not make it and asked him as a favor to fill in. Very uncomfortable at this point. When I tried to talk to Chuy about it. His response is since he won't be able to make it this new guy is his representative. If that's he case then why the additional phone calls if it's all the same group. On top of that the new guy stated his mariachi name is completely different. Chuys response to that is it's the same group they just use a different name. Again, I thought it was the same group why different names. He was trying to do a bait and switch and didn't want to admit to it. At this point I can't trust either of them as I don't know who will show up. When I try to cancel he says he won't give me my deposit back because his mariachi didn't cancel (Remember he's the one who had a completely different group call me but according to him that's not cancelling). He tried to say it's till his group and he canceled other gigs because of it (that doesn't make sense because he said he was booked already and his other group was coming to out event) the other group that doesn't exist. Not to mention he never stated anytime in our text messages (yes everything is on text so proof is there) that there was no return of deposit if canceled, again booked on 1/23/19 canceled 1/24/19. I would think twice about booking this mariachi because he might revive someone completely other than the one you booked. read more

Mariachi Tecuala were amazing blessings to my family. From the first day I talked to Chuy, he was friendly, professional and really good at communicating promptly. They performed for my grandma's 90th birthday and they worked with our vision from the time they showed up (early) till the end of the night. We asked them to surprise my grandma by entering by walking down the ramp and serenading my grandma. We had several people ask us throughout the night for their information because everyone enjoyed them. At first I was a little disappointed bc they were only four mariachis and I was told there would be five, but about 20 minutes later, the fifth mariachi singer came and boy, could he sing! It almost made it better that he came a little later. All the of the mariachis who sang had excellent voices and they the instruments sounded wonderful too. My grandma kept requesting the same songs twice because she loved them so much and the band was very gracious and accommodating. After the first hour they took a quick break and we paid them the agreed price in cash with no issues and then they played a second hour. Their price was affordable and we would definitely book them again. The entire process was so smooth and they will make any party a fiesta to remember. read more
