Visited Maria's today while in the area. Warmly greeted by man at the counter. The food was excellent and the restaurant and restrooms nice and clean. We dined in and you serve yourself in getting drinks. They bring your food but there is not actually a server that waits on the table. I think this is a plus because no tip is involved. We went here to try a different pizza place and they had no wait staff, so you had to order at the counter. There were two lines "ordering and picking up" but apparently that line didn't matter. There were plenty of people working in back, but nobody organizing the growing crowd in the entryway. We wound up leaving without ordering because this was nothing but chaos. We were looking to have a sit down meal, not stand in line and take my meal back to the table like it was a food truck or cafeteria. We had Maria's delivered tonight. One person wanted spaghetti, one wanted strips, and one wanted pizza so now we have leftovers for days.The food arrived warm and would have been better if it would have arrived quicker so it would have been hot. The gentleman who delivered it was very nice even though it was very hot out he had a smile and appeared very friendly. read more

Alright, the dining room was about 90 degrees last Friday when it was so damn hot outside. But hey? When you order a 7 buck double cheese bread and it's an entire 10 inch pan crust with about two pounds of mozzarella? When a 5 buck plate of onion rings is an entire piled high platter of thinly crispy battered goodness? All homemade. The sauces? Homemade. The chicken strip dinner is at least as good if not better than the more well known chicken establishments in Ladd & Rock Falls. The large baked tortellini is bigger than anyone else's for 7 bucks. Best chicken strip (aka chicken crack) ever! And the pizza is great too! Prices are reasonable. They deliver to Woodhaven and Yogi campgrounds. We call it 'chicken crack' because it is so addicting! I'm from Chicago and have eaten at literally every pizza joint in the city and from what I can tell you, Mama Maria's Pizzeria ranks way up there. Their spaghetti and meatballs are amazing and the pizzas are just as tasty. I swear they put one pound of cheese on the large pizzas. For a family of 4 came out to about $40 and we left stuffed. They take debit/credit cards so that's a plus in Amboy. We're definitely coming back when we pass through Amboy, IL. read more

We had a girls night out and decided to try a new place and it was the best decision we could have made.We orderd pizza,baked ravioli and chicken strips for are main dishes and for an appetizer we ordered the bruschetta. The pizza was amazing right amount of cheese the crust was perfect. The baked ravioli was so cheesy and the sauce was delicious. and the bread they served with it was a whole loaf. The chicken strips are freshly batterd and there sauce was the best house sauce I have had in a long time. The bruschetta was good but not really bruschetta it's more cheese garlic bread with tomatoes on top but it was still good.The portions are huge. well worth the money. between 4 of us there where still left overs. The food is ok, what is really messed up about this is the lack of care for current health concerns. When I went in, not one of the ten people behind the counter had on a mask properly. One under a chin and one worn below the nose. That was it... the people would actually pull the mask off their mouth in order to talk.. the food ended up being ok. Love to support a local business but it is ridiculous that they aren't wearing masks nor asking customers to. read more

Maria's is a great restaurant and the owner knows customers by name. The food is terrific. Delivery is super fast and always hot! I highly recommend the chicken strips! The portions are large and there will always be leftovers!!! The prices are reasonable. The dining room is very nice and the servers are also great!
