Looked at online reviews and decided to go get pizza here while in Galena. The waitress was very good. We ordered meatballs and bread for appetizers. They were good. We ordered sausage, canadian bacon, mushroom and onion thin crust pizza. It was very bland. Hardly any taste - more mushroom than anything. Left half the pizza. We went with a party of 5 about 5:30 on a Sunday evening. Got right in. I ordered a Limoncello Collins drink which was delicious. Our table ordered Fettuccini Alfredo and 2 pizzas. One Portobello and Mushroom with Italian sausage added, and a Sweet and Sour Hawaiian. the Hawaiian we ordered on a cauliflower crust. They also have a gluten free crust option. Food was delicious. I have to say that, based on the food reviews and pictures, Cannova would have been my second choice for Sunday night pizza. However, the reason we chose it was because several reviews mentioned reliable delivery, which was important to us on this occasion. And it turned out to be a great decision: although they quoted 75-80 minutes for delivery, it arrived in just over an hour. How was the pizza? Pretty good, not the best, but very solid. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to try the food at this establishment. I emailed the manager regarding a large order I wanted to place. He responded by telling me they need at least 3 days. I emailed on a Monday, the party I was hosting was on Saturday. I emailed again telling him exactly what I needed and then he ghosted me. Walked into Cannova's right after it opened and had the restaurant to ourselves, around 12:10. The vibe was old school Italian meets quaint bar. Let me tell you- it was perfection. This place is small and always packed. Short hours, open 4-8 when we went on a Wednesday. (Lot of restaurants in Galena are closed Wednesdays) We had a thin crust pizza, it was delicious. Full bar and lots of wine options. No draft beer, they had a number of bottled selections tho. Several people did take out when we were dining. We've been going to cannovas pizzeria for over 30 years. We experienced different owners and staff. We've seen remodeling and the shortening of the bar. Many changes over the years, yet the pizza has always been very good as well as the service...now everything about it is "next level". Great service , really nice wines and I think the pizza is better than ever ! I still bitch about the tables being small but even that has become endearing. Great service from Nate. We were pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful locally owned Italian restaurant in charming Galena Main Street district. We had the chop salad a couple of glasses of house Chianti and a 10" pizza with beef, not pork sausage! All for 40 bucks. It was a nice touch to have complimentary home baked bread with our salad. Wait staff was great. They said maybe a 20 minute wait but to take a seat at the bar and if a table opened up we'd get that table. Then, we got a table in less than 5 minutes. Yummmm, this pizza! My mom and I ordered pizza delivery from Cannova's while in Galena (we stayed at an Air BNB). The woman on the phone was very pleasant to talk to. We ordered the New York pizza (without tomatoes). The menu had a lot of intriguing options, so choosing what to get wasn't easy. I was told it would be an hour for our pizza (which would have been fine,) but we were pleasantly surprised when it showed up in less than 30 minutes. The delivery driver was GREAT and fun to chat with. The pizza was so so good! They did not skimp on the garlic and it really made the pizza! The crust was thin, and the cheese was melty and there was plenty of it. This is some of the best pizza delivery I've had in awhile. Bravo! read more

Good pizza and they delivered directly to our hotel room. It did take forever (80-90 min), but they told us in advance so we knew what to expect and that was fine with us. My Wife and I love Galena and decided to detour to here on our way home. I remember really liking the pizza from here and made sure to stop again for dinner. Once again we got the garlic bread which was good, but the pizza was once again the star for me. I feel as though their pizza matches up to any other pizza I've had, at the very least it's the best thin-crust I've had. Who knew it was possible to get a delicious, thin crust pizza delivered to our rental property on a busy holiday weekend? While our pizza was very warm and no longer hot, it was delicious and delivered as expected, but by a super nice driver. We were told it could be a 1.5-2 hour wait for delivery within the Galena territory which was fine with us because we were snacking too. And, the fact that it tasted so good it was eaten before I could take a photo says something, right? We would get their food again on another visit but probably eat in the restaurant so the food is hot and so we can try more of their food. read more

The small salad was a decent size. The creamy italian dressing was delicious. The bread came with olive oil and vinegar dipping sauce that had cheese and other seasonings. We ordered pizza. It was a good cheesy amount. Was very happy with the crust being thin and crispy. It wasn't overkill on mushrooms or pepperoni but it still had a decent amount. Our waiter was prompt and food came out fast and hot. The pizza was ok cold the next day, not my favorite pizza to eat the day after but re heated up it was good. Prices seemed reasonable except for liquor. 10 bucks for a rum and coke. Someone told us this place had the best pizza in town. I definitely would recommend it. read more

Ordered a pizza from Cannova's while on our weekend trip to Galena. It's located on a beautiful street. Right in the heart of the downtown area. With all the covid stuff going on, they aren't serving or seating people. You can call and order for pick-up. We kind of picked up the pizza and took it over to where we were seated across the street. It was all pretty casual, so it was cool. Pizza-wise, I think we ordered a pizza that had too many toppings. We asked to seat 7 and they said "we only take up to 4 in a party"... fine... so we ask to split to a party of 4 and a party of 3. Nope. Reached out to Cannova's Pizzeria a week or so in advance to ask if I could pre-order pizza & salad to be delivered to our rental within a 30 minute or so timeframe and they were awesome! Called in just after 4pm (just after they open) on a Wednesday to order 4 large pizzas (Typo / BBQ chicken / pepperoni / cheese) and 3 house salads sans the meat and dressing on the side for delivery Friday between 7:30-8:00pm. Friday our delivery came PERFECTLY and everyone in our party loved the pizza and salad. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more
