On the rails

What a desert gem! Friendly treasure hiding in the west valley. It's hard to describe, but I'll try! Maricopa live steamers has so much desert land! It's got an old west town vibe Then several freighters full of train parts and gadgets. Run by volunteers, collecting donations, you can get in line to tour the tracks on one of the engines. The engines go around the desert dust with small little surprises built along the way. My sons were thrilled with this more slow train, as it didn't have scary steam or move overly fast. Everyone was very friendly- we got there close to closing and so we didn't get to explore more, but will be back in the fall. I also see so much potential out here! There's no food or drink on site that I could see, but I could see crowds flocking for fun and food trucks!

This train park is incredible. Non profit, donation based, with a love to share the world about the history of all things trains- building, maintaining, educating, you name it. Thank you Hank and team for a train trip unforgettable! Not to mention your passion and love for railroad cars. Our little conductor in the making is "all aboard" the Maricopa Live Steamers! We will absolutely be back and cannot wait; especially for the Christmas tree special. Thank you again!

Slick City on Thunderbird Rd in Glendale is now one of my favorite places to show off to friends…read moreand visitors. Among all the different slides there is something for everyone from 6 (my grandkid) to 76 (me)! Although they are all fun, my favorite slide is the Python, followed by the Royal Flush. But I recommend you try all the slides! This is a great place for birthday parties, there's a cafe and lots of tables overlooking the playing floor. There is also a special area with toddler-size activities. One thing I especially like about Slick City is that through the adventure of slides, it teaches children self confidence and helps give them the courage to overcome fear in a healthy environment. Granddaughter (7 yrs) climbed up to the top of one of the tallest slides, only to start crying from fear and then she'd climb back down. 15 minutes later she'd go up again, only to come down, defeated by her fear. She kept it up (learning determination) until she finally found the courage to slide down from the top. The smile on her now self-confident face was priceless. She had conquered her fear! She went back and rode that slide again at least 10 times. The place is pricey but well worth it. Note: you must purchase a pair of their special traction socks in the slide areas. They do not allow any other brand, so save yours for subsequent trips.

We LOVE Slick City! Every time we go the staff is very friendly and supportive. And honestly that…read moreis the p The plus because you. Annoy beat what they had to offer. The slides are creative and fun, the basketball court is well kept and functioning. Overall the entire facility is clean, fun and a happy place to be.

My son loves coming here and I cant wait to get out of here…read more Its so dirty. Any place you sit down its sticky and crumbs all over all the tables. I have to use my own sanitizer and get napkins to wipe down a place to sit. The bathrooms are disgusting. Never clean. Out of toilet paper and paper towels. Lack of comfortable seating. Not everyone wants to pay to use massage chairs and you cant sit in them comfortably without using them. The line to check in is ridiculous. There should be an exoress kiosk for those with memberships that you put in your phone number and it spits out the wristband. The 2 workers at the check in take 5 to 10 minutes to check in new families who have to sign up and sign waivers. It is so Loud. The constant loud beeping of machines and on the weekends, the birthday party announcementst hurt my ears. I leave with a headache everytime. Due to the lack of cleanliness at tables and seats and the bathrooms I highly question the cleanliness of the mats and ball pits. Never mind the kitchen.

I had a very disappointing experience at Urban Air. I came in with two children who are both under…read more40 inches tall and specifically asked for the Shorty Pass. I also presented a complimentary Basic Pass voucher that I had received on a previous visit. The cashier told me that the Basic Pass only covered the trampolines, but since we wanted access to the deluxe attractions, we would need to upgrade. That was completely fine with me. However, instead of charging the Shorty Pass upgrade price for my child under 40 inches, I was charged the full Deluxe Pass price of $26.99 instead of the $11.99 Shorty Pass. After realizing the mistake, I spoke with the manager. Rather than correcting the pricing error or issuing a refund for the difference, I was told that no refunds could be given and was offered another Basic Pass voucher. That does not resolve the issue. I didn't want another Basic Pass--I simply wanted to be charged the correct price for my child based on the pass that should have applied. This situation could have easily been avoided if employees were properly trained on the different pass options and how promotional vouchers can be applied. Customers shouldn't have to pay more because of employee misinformation. I hope Urban Air improves its staff training so this doesn't happen to other families.
