I hired this calligrapher because her prices were lower than other calligraphers and…read morelets be honest after all the other wedding expenses a calligrapher is a nice touch but definitely not a priority. She gave us a price of 3.75 per envelope (outer with full address for recipient, my return address, and inner envelope with names), which I thought was reasonable. I gave her a two lists- one with full mailing address and another list that only required the name of the person (no mailing address, no return address- just a name)- she charged me $3.75 for ALL envelopes. When I asked her why she wasn't charging me $1/line (her standard rate per line) she became very confrontational and rude and proceeded to tell me that I insulted her for not thinking that her work was worth the price. Yes, there are world renowned calligraphers that are featured in magazines whose talent is worth $3.75 a line- Marie Antoinette isn't one of them. Don't make the same mistake I made by wanting to save a few dollars. There are PLENTY of great calligraphers who are talented and will not need to resort to this type of behavior.
