We purposely moved here for the schools, Turpin and Sherwood. This summer was full of preparation for our current Sophomore son. You start by doing all of the online registration and then drop off all the important paperwork at the district office (see my review for there, too). A few weeks before school started, we were invited in by the counselor to create a class schedule. The counselor was so kind and thorough, helping explain the in's and outs of the school to us. Fast forward to new parent orientation: the staff gave us a very detailed overview of Turpin and everything it has to offer. A few days later, our son went to the new student orientation where he learned how the schedules work, where to go on the first day and how to succeed at this school. We have been SO pleased with the staff from this school. A week before school started, there was an open house type event where you could tour the school from 8a-8p! It was so nice to be able to freely walk through the school and find lockers/classroom! This is a very busy campus! Lots of active students who have Turpin pride! On the first day of school, the teachers and staff were outside cheering for the students. It is so obvious that the staff at Turpin cares about their kids. I am so, so proud to be a Turpin mom and our family loves this school district so far. The principal went out of his way to give us his personal phone number so we could have one more walk through of the school over the weekend if we wanted it. Now that is someone who cares!!!!

We went from a private school in Anderson worried that we would have a lot of trouble going to a…read morepublic school after so many years and we were so wrong. Turpin has been amazing and my daughter finally feels like she has found some people like her. Her classes are wonderful and grades have remained good. She did have a lot of homework freshman year but it has seemed to settle down and be exactly the right amount of homework now. The teachers have always been on top of communication in regards to my daughter having ADD and any help she may require for tests and homework. In the three years here we have never had a bad teacher. The principal is amazing along with all the vice principals, they are top of any issues I may have in regards to testing or SAT or ACT questions or any other basic question. We are so happy here and the community is great.

Passing by, St. Ursula Villa hardly looks like a school; it's more like an old castle. Little do…read moreCincinnatians know that this building was once home to R.K. LeBlonde, a legend in the Queen City's machine tool industry. LeBlonde built his mansion in 1913. European heritage is prominent throughout the structure, such as lead peaked windows and a stone exterior. While some renovations have been needed, I was pleased to see most of the original home untouched and intact. LeBlonde lived in the house until his death in 1953. Afterwards, the property was willed to the Archdiocese and became St. Ursula Villa in the 1960s. St. Ursula Villa is a beautiful landmark rich in Cincinnati history. Since this is a private school, the most respectful time for viewing is on the weekends when classes are not in session.
