I'll start by saying, I'm a complicated patient. I'm prone to anxiety and "what-if's" which leads to a million and one questions during my appointments and even in-between. I have a history of miscarriages, so when I found out I was pregnant, the staff really took care of me. I had HCG levels checked and was reassured constantly of what symptoms to look for. I had my son with the practice in 2022 and now we're back again with baby number two. Both times they've listened to all of my concerns and addressed them right away. I don't trust many people, but I would trust Dr. Alarcon and Dr. Tagechian with my life and the life of my babies over and over again. I've seen some bad reviews about wait times, but to put in perspective, I'd rather wait 30 extra minutes to ensure that my doctors are giving me all the time I need in the room than for them to be on time 24/7 and running out of the room at the 15 minute mark. Good care takes time and they're worth waiting for. read more

I had ongoing issues with this practice both before and after surgery, including poor communication and lack of follow-through. After surgery, a missed medication interaction led to uncontrolled pain and an emergency room visit the same day. Postoperative incision concerns were repeatedly reported but not addressed in a timely or effective manner. I ultimately had to seek care outside of this practice to receive proper treatment. This experience caused unnecessary pain, stress, and a prolonged recovery. I would strongly encourage patients to ask detailed questions about pain management and how complications are handled before choosing this practice. read more

I legitimately hate this place so much. We waited forever to get seen, they forgot to do a blood test they were supposed to do, gave me a pap without telling me, we decided it wasn't a good fit for us so we decided to transfer somewhere else and they took FOREVER to give us the release forms, keep texting me for appointments I've cancelled multiple times, and just charged me 200$ to my credit card. For what ? I have no idea and I'm sure it's going to take me at least a week to figure that out . So unorganized. read more

Talked about something dealing with pain while she's actively checking that area and that incurred an almost extra $300 charge to my insurance. I was belittled and villainized for asking preconception questions because of pre-existing family medical history. My takeaway was that I would not be able to receive any care from this office until I underwent extensive genetic testing. I was met with condescension that I would even consider trying to naturally have a child. The doctor made an incredibly hurtful comment that my medical history must have "ruined my mother." And the pap smear was far more painful than any I've had, leaving me with intense symptoms for nearly 24 hours. Any doctor that specializes in women's health should exhibit much more empathy given the sensitive nature of their patients' situations. I felt the need to share my experience with the hopes that no future patient has to go through what I did. read more

The office support at Marietta OB/GYN (West Cobb) has been extremely disappointing. While I understand that the doctors are great, there have been significant issues with the handling of my daughter's blood work and other office/scheduling related issues. It is very hard to get in contact with anyone in the office using the main office number. I have been hung up on several times during transfer after waiting an hour on the phone. TWICE, her blood work was not processed due to mishandling of the blood work. This is particularly concerning as she is high-risk and the tests were already scheduled late in her pregnancy. The most critical test, the 3-hour glucose test, was not processed due to mishandling of the blood work to the point in which it can no longer be used. The staff simply said "sorry" and asked her to retake it as if it were no big deal. This test takes a considerable amount of time to complete, especially when it makes you sick and you are still a working mom five days out of the week. Having to go through it again is frustrating to say the least. These problems seem to arise from a lack of proper checks and balances within the office. It is very easy to follow up with the lab to ensure all blood work is picked up on time. It is very easy to ensure the pregnant moms are scheduled for tests timely. I genuinely doubt the doctors are aware of how their office support is representing them. This should be one of the most joyous times in our lives, yet we feel the need to follow up on every test and procedure to ensure everything is being done and done accurately. read more

I have been going to Marietta OBGYN for years but I walked out of the office today and will never go back again! Dr Sims has always been amazing but she was unavailable for my yearly so I scheduled with the next available provider. She entered the room rude and frustrated that I had expressed to the young lady doing my intake that I wanted to research alternative imagining before scheduling my mamogram. She refused to even have a conversation with me, stating imagining other than a mamogram is not sufficient and she does not "play." Respectfully, it's still my body and something where I have a right to do additional research and have a conversation about. She has never saw me before, took zero time to ask me any personal questions, introduce herself on a deeper level or ask anything other than starting the exam, telling me how I should eat and home much I should exercise. She finished them exam, told me I'd get my order for a mamogram and literally slammed the door speaking with her back to me as she walked out. Truly the worst experience I've ever had, especially with someone I had never previously met before. I will not return again and I'll locate a new doctor. read more

I have been going to Marietta OB/GYN for many years. However, I will not be going back again. I went in October for a well woman visit (which is covered 100% by my insurance). Now I keep getting statements for an outstanding charge. I originally called on three occasions to speak with the billing department regarding such. The calls were answered by their AI attendant. I asked to have someone from billing call me back to discuss. No one ever called back. The fourth time I called I pressed something other than billing and got a human. She informed me the charge was for HRT (that was not the case as I get HRT through another provider). She informed me not to pay and she would look into it and get back with me. That never happened. So, I went into the office personally to discuss. They informed me that it was not for HRT it was for UTI treatment. That was not the case either. I did indeed have a bacteria in my urine, however, I had just completed antibiotics two weeks before my appointment. When I asked the doctor about the antibiotics he prescribed for a UTI (which I had absolutely no symptoms), he informed me that sometimes there is just bacteria present without it being an infection and it would not be a good idea to get the antibiotics filled and treat. That was all documented in my patient portal. They are still sticking with the fact that it was an evaluated and "Treated" and sticking with the charge. I sent evidence from my patient portal that it was NOT treated. They are still stating that I owe the charge. BEWARE, this is a horrible way to run a practice. read more

Cannot say enough great things about Dr. Alarcon, the nurses, and staff at Marietta OB-GYN. Everyone is kind, helpful, and professional. Scheduling an appointment is convenient and easy, and I never feel like I'm a burden if I need to reschedule (which I try not to do, but had to recently due to illness). Dr. Alarcon is, hands down, the best doctor I've ever seen. He listens to any and all concerns (big or small), is extremely kind & caring, and always makes me feel a sense of comfort with his knowledge and compassion. He offers so many suggestions, options, things to think about, etc. When I tell you that I feel seen AND heard... again, he's amazing. If you're looking for a new practice, look no further!! Avoid Dr. Doan. She is unethical. She made major changes to my medication without even telling me. The pharmacist asked when I went to pick up the Rx if it was correct because it had so drastically changed. When I asked Dr. Doan about this, she explained her reason for the change. It was such an important reason that I was all the more shocked she never discussed the issue with me. The medication change has thrown my life and symptoms into total disarray and I had to find a new dr who would discuss my health issues and my goals and how best to manage them. Worst of all, Dr. Doan was extremely rude and snippy when I asked her about all of this. She clearly does not believe that a patient has the right to know what risks her medication entails or even what her doctor is prescribing and why. read more

If you're pregnant ... run. I wish I would have come to the reviews first before trusting this place to have my baby. My pregnancy was the worst experience ever with these people. They don't listen, nor do they care. You're a number. Dr. Klein. If you can even call her a doctor was horrible up until the end. I nearly decided to have my baby at home because of her. She just instills fear in you, never gives you an option or listens to your wants. I was induced... against my will. I was given potocin even though I specifically stated I didn't want it. Doc. Tag is the absolute best! I'm 53 and have been going to see her for 20 years!!! Her associate Patty has been with her forever and she is also the best!! Their professionalism, friendliness, and overall fantastic offices are wonderful. I prefer the Dallas office as the Kennestone is hectic and have to pay for parking. The office is much more fancy at Kennestone, but something has to be said about good, small country office with warm feelings without the traffic and crazy parking. I would pay out of pocket for Doc Tag if she was not in my insurance plan. That's how much I love this woman! She makes you feel comfortable. SUPER FAST... before you know it, she's done! I made an appointment and she was very attentive and helped me try a number of solutions before finally landing on surgery to help fix the problem I had. The doctors have been good, but sadly this clinic does not follow the guidelines of the CDC nor of their own hospital. We have weekly checkups as we near the due date for our new baby and every visit, the entire staff in the check in/out area has their masks dangling below their face. We have reported this issue to the hospital. This has not been our only issue, but it is a good example of their general attitude towards care. We would have changed to a new clinic if we weren't so far along. In the future, we will follow the recommendations of several friends to go to Unified Premier Women's Care clinic instead. read more

For 23 years I have gone to Marietta OB-GYN and always had a great experience. Dr. Vonda Klein delivered both of my children. The staff has was wonderful and caring through the ups and downs of miscarriages and the news of our son was going to be born with birth defects. The warmth caring environment Dr. Klein and her staff exude resonates through the care they provide each patient. I recommend Marietta OB GYN to all of my friends. First and last time seeing Dr. Bardwell. Went in cause I have a cyst on my cooch and I wanted to get STD swab tested as well and he told me that since I had one previously he didn't know if my insurance will cover it. I told him to run it back anyways because I want to be tested (I'm not a hoe I'm just paranoid). He did it and then proceeded to tell me there's nothing he can do about my cyst (no antibiotics to help it not get infected, no nothing) and if it gets worse to come back and he can make an incision and fix it or whatever. He then leaves the room and tells me ya know I can change and all that. I change and leave to go to the front desk and he's standing outside beside the door and tells me he's gonna show me the back exit that leads right to the elevator and that I don't need to schedule another appointment. Um wtf okay? I think I can schedule as many appointments as I need/want, like do y'all not want my money or smth?? I found the whole experience very uncomfortable, esp the part where he told me that if I have any issues w the cyst to call and schedule an appointment but then afterwards told me I don't need to schedule any more appointments???? Make it make sense. If I could give him 0 stars I would. read more

I had an appointment yesterday (10/10/2022) scheduled for 11:45am which I arrived 5 minutes early for. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes only to be taken back to a room to be waiting for another 40 minutes for the provider. Nobody gave a heads-up that the Doctor was running behind. After over an hour of waiting, and asking Admin if I had been forgotten- I decided to leave... however the front office advised I would only be able to do that if I could make up the appt during the same week due to labs that needed to be ran (which I had already opted out of). I could not make up the appt for another day and was supposed to be home by 1 pm due to childcare issues. I did not even get out of the appt until 1:15 when my original appointment time was for 11:45. This is absolutely ridiculous- no one - except for Dr Gaynor seemed to care about this wait time. (While waiting in room - I also heard another PT ask if she was going to be seen because it had also been over an hour and she needed to get back to work...Other people being late should not affect my appointment time!) read more

This is the second time I've seen a doctor at this practice in the last six months both times there were huge delays in being taken back to see the doctor and the doctor coming in to see me. My visit this week was 45 mins delayed and then the doctor didn't come in for an additional 30 minutes. While everyone apologized for the fact that I didn't get to see the doctor until an hour and 15 mins after my appointment time this doesn't cut it. My time is just as valuable as the doctors time. Upon entering the facility the front office staff should make you aware that the doctor is running behind, and if the doctor is running this far behind in my opinion, they should be calling their patients and letting them know that they should come in 30 mins later so that you are sitting there stewing. Or offering to reschedule a patient if pushing it back by 30 minutes doesn't work. Having an hour and 15 minute wait that is not expected causes huge problems for families who have children to pick up from school or dogs to pick up from doggy daycare or just being able to go back to work and complete your day. This is totally unacceptable and needs to be dealt with. Well, I have heard that the doctor I went to see is phenomenal I can't get past this piss, poor customer service, and unacceptable treatment of their patients. read more

These 5 stars are once again for Dr. Tag and her nurse. I called the office with a concern, and Dr Tag was not available due to her popularity. I saw Cathy, NP, instead, in a hurry. Her nurse took my weight and I later learned she apparently didn't record it. No big deal but what is the point? In short, Cathy was fairly efficient but not overly friendly or sweet. Without much detail or explanation, she essentially helped but meh. The front desk and scheduling desk are okay. The amount of kindness, personableness, and professionalism by Dr Tag is why I won't waste my time going to anyone else unless there's a total emergency. I literally can't believe I've made it to my 3rd trimester here and they don't even know my name. They're so rude and inconsiderate. I make my appointments and make it here on time or prior for them to make me wait in the waiting area for 30 minutes or more it's so ridiculous. Then some lady brought her daughter upstairs and they're not even making her go back to the car and it's no visitors at all due to covid. Mind you we're all pregnant so how risky! Can I give 0 stars please? Literally the absolute worst traumatizing experience OF MY LIFE. NEVER GO HERE. The staff and doctors DO NOT CARE about you. They care about money and the easy way out. I had a confirmed pregnancy but my HCG levels were not doubling or getting to where they needed to be. I was having 0 pain. They were adamant about getting me in to get an ultrasound and I recently moved so I lived 1.5-2 hours away depending on traffic. They got me in for an appointment and when I got there I had to wait another 30-60 mins to be seen just to find out the ultrasound tech was no longer there when this is WHY I was asked to come in to be seen. They played into my fears and said I may be having and ectopic pregnancy and so need an ultrasound right away if something bad is happening. Even tho I had 0 pain. They rushed me along to the ER so I could get said ultrasound instead. I waited in Wellstars ER for 10 HOURS. I wasn't seen until 2:42 AM. Dr. Doan from Marietta OBGYN made me believe this was an EMERGENCY. If it was such an emergency .. why didn't the ER take me back right away? This was the most traumatizing experience I have ever been put through in my life. Thousands of dollars of medical bills later to remind me of my miscarriage I had at home alone. read more

If I could pick zero stars I would. Ms. Klein is completely inept. Unfortunately I've learned that good Obgyn's are few and far in between and she takes the cake in being terrible. I came in for incredible pain due to cysts found in an ER ultrasound a week and a half ago. She took all my history and then told me I had to have a physical exam even though she was able to view the ultrasound. I asked her if it was necessary since the ultrasound already verified what was going on, she said yes. I should have told her no. When she came back in to do the exam, she brought in a "chaperone". She didn't explain to me why this other person was there until I asked. Apparently it's for liability. I've never been at a doctor's office that required a chaperone. She stood in the corner in full view of my bits and I asked her to move to the side. Fortunately she did. The doctor did the physical check just to say "oh yeah, you have some masses". No duh, the ultrasound showed you that. There was absolutely no f-ing reason to do a physical exam except maybe that she gets more money from the insurance company to do it. She tried to get me on birth control which if you look at the studies are carcinogens and can make conditions worse...especially without doing any hormonal tests to see exactly where your hormones are at, but no, that doesn't make sense, let's just give all women birth control for everything even if it makes their issues worse. I digress, after this she said, you need surgery find a gynecological oncologist to do it (no referral provided). I said what about my pain? She said I'll give you some pain killers but you can't take your current pain killers with it. Great. Helpful. And what about monitoring this? She said, "you have fertility specialists, work with them. You've got a lot of people working with you, I'll see you next March for your pap". NO. YOU. WON'T. She also told me to start taking my low dose naltrexone again, which isn't enough to help my pain and prevents the pain medication that does work from working. Are you freaking kidding me?!? In the meantime my out of state doctor who prescribed the LDN told me to stop taking it so that the pain meds I need right now will work. I don't know what I would do without the good doctors in my life when I run into these poor so-called "doctors". Ms. Klein, you are one of the main problems with allopathic medicine. You do not do healthcare, you do sick care and very poorly. I will tell you why I'm working with a functional medicine doctor and naturopath (which you seemed to be truly bothered by). It is because doctors like you have failed me. I have been cut open, prescribed shots and medicines that made me sicker because no one cared to look at the root cause of why I was sick. It isn't genetic as ya'll seem to want to say. It is environmental, it is food, it is water (I had high toxic amounts of uranium in my system). It is doctors like you looking at us patients as dollars for drugs and unnecessary procedures. Also you recommend a pap smear every year when the American Cancer Society recommends it every 3 years. Why would you recommend it more frequently except that you get insurance money for it? You've broken the Hippocratic oath. You are doing so much harm. And while I am grateful to allopathic medicine for emergency situations, I'm really sorry started with allopathic instead of root cause medicine - I would have been in a much better, healthier place. read more

Dr. Sims is absolutely AMAZING! She was recently my surgeon and made my entire experience perfect. She was very thorough explaining the process during my pre-op appt. Knowing what to expect made me feel more comfortable. Dr. Sims and her team kept my wife and mother informed during surgery and recovery. My incision is barely noticeable. It's obvious that she took her time when closing the incision. I highly recommend Dr. Sims for any OB-GYN appointments, check-ups and procedures. She is passionate about what she does and genuinely care about her patients. read more
