I do not know where to start. This office was referred to me with rave reviews. I did not experience what I hoped. I found the ultrasound room to lack my cleanliness standards. I was asked to disrobe and there was blood remnants that had not been cleaned. I mentioned it and the tech cleaned it right away. Also, my gel was not warmed although I saw three other gels that appeared to be in a warmer (which also needed some extra cleaning). The best part here is that the doctor on call, a female was the nicest person with the best bedside manner. In my opinion, the doctor I was sent to was rather kurt and brass. Peachtree Women's Specialist's has impacted my healthcare from young adulthood to present motherhood. I became a patient of Dr. James Knoer in 2012. Over the years I've brought a number of health concerns to Dr. Knoer. He has always taken the time to listen and provide thoughtful, researched and experienced information to make educated choices about my health. Most recently Dr. Knoer delivered my second child. He had prepared me weeks in advance of the possibility of a cesarean. I was empowered with in depth knowledge of all the possible scenarios, outcomes and options. This allowed me to make informed decisions about my delivery every step of the way. I was a patient at Peachtree Women's Specialists throughout the duration of my pregnancy. There were many things to like about this practice: the convenience of multiple office locations, the reliability of someone always answering the phones, gentle nurses, and of course, great care from several of the physicians. Dr. Matthew and Dr. Roberts were my primary providers but I also saw most of the other doctors throughout my pregnancy. Dr. Roberts' impeccable bedside manner, evidence-based care and responsiveness set me at ease. Dr. Matthew delivered my baby (via cesarean) and did an incredible job; I healed beautifully thanks to her excellence. However, we will not use this practice for our next pregnancy because we had such a negative and demeaning experience during our single visit with Dr. Knoer. My wife and I met with him during a rotational visit late in my pregnancy, and he was shockingly cold, condescending, derogatory and dismissive. He scoffed at our questions, quite literally rolling his eyes at one point, and spoke to us as if our very existence was irritating to him. As a same sex couple, his treatment of us left us feeling unwelcome and unwanted in the practice; I actually left the visit in tears and spent the remainder of my pregnancy in a panic that I could potentially end up with him on delivery day. Had it been earlier in my pregnancy, we would have switched practices at that point. It was the greatest relief when he happened to be out on vacation near my due date. While I certainly wish that our experience with Dr. Knoer was an anomaly, I've unfortunately read similar reviews from other patients remarking on his discriminatory treatment and therefore will not endorse or utilize this practice moving forward. read more

I saw Dr. Counihan at the Brookhaven location. This was my first visit with this practice and it was a great experience! I love not having to pay for parking. Getting in and out of the office was quick and easy. I was checked in quickly and didn't wait long before I was called back. Dr. Counihan spoke with me for a while (15-20 minutes) before leaving so I could change clothes. They have fabric gowns and sheets which is so much better than the paper ones most offices use these days. Dr. Counihan talked with me during the exam and it was over before I knew it. I was out of there in about 35 minutes. I've recommended this practice to several friends. read more

Terrible management. They entertain themselves with petty sadistic pleasure of treating customers badly. The reviews on here seem to corroborate my opinions on how they operate. They recorded the wrong location on my first appointment and the wrong MONTH on the rescheduled one. Thankfully, I called before the second appt instead of depending on a communication and wasting my time driving out in between work. I'm sure I got the right info that time because the person who picked up was not 'Liz' - the one who booked my appointments. I believe bad service is a reflection of bad management and leadership. I see Dr. Roberts, usually at the Vinings location. I was very nervous about seeing a male OBGYN, but he is so nice and wonderful that I am now at ease. I haven't seen any of the other doctors, so I cannot tell you what they are like, but if you are able to, request Dr. Roberts. He encouraged me when I was having doubts about having a child (even though I have always wanted children) and now that I am pregnant he told me feel free to call any time if you think of any questions. I sincerely hope he is on call when I need to deliver. I'm taking one star off simply because sometimes the front desk staff give me incorrect information. I was told I could walk into the Collier location and get my labs done. Turns out I need an appointment. I was told that the labs at Collier open at 7:30 AM. Not true, they don't open til 8:30. I was also told at my first prenatal visit that there was no co-pay. Well, at the next appointment I was given a bill for the first visit's co-pay that I was told didn't exist. Sometimes they don't answer the phone and I have to go by the office to schedule a visit, this has never really been an issue because I lived literally a mile away when I started going and after that it was always on my way to work, and it only happened one time. (I am a receptionist and I get how overwhelming fielding a billion calls a day can be.) Overall nothing to really get riled up about, I would just advise you to call and double check things if you are even slightly confused. They should get right back to you. Oh, and again, request Dr. Roberts. You will notice that not one review has anything bad to say about him. read more

Dr. Sheena Harmon is a complete gem. Not only was her bedside manner polite and warm, she also explained the physical reasons for my severe cramps, and helped me genuinely understand more about my body than any other doctor ever has. I recommend her to every other woman I know! read more

One star because our bodies deserve more than what this office "might" be able to offer. The other doctors may be OK but Dr. Knoer was cold, insensitive, and even condescending. He implied my female issues were not physiological rather psychological. Not to be sexist I know there are other male Dr's out there who actually care and are talented at what they do. However, he turned me off to male gynecologists/ob. There are some things one must go through in order to truly be empathetic or at least sympathetic. I see other reviews find him fine, but that's not good enough when it comes to your health. I prefer someone who can consistently provide quality care with an excellent bedside manner. That's more important than a practice that can only sometimes provide good service. read more

Dr. Knoer is my Gynecologist and his bedside manner is impeccable. I have been going through the worst pain,no other physician ever treated me with so much respect until this great doctor. He understand that my fibroids are truly harmful for me. When I left his office my first encounter I cried because he was the only Doctor who new I needed immediate action. Although i respect the other reviews, I absolutely disagree. As someone who has worked in healthcare for many years, I find it disturbing the total dereliction this practice has regarding patient care. The doctors are nice as are the lab techs however if your practice depends on morons (in the office) who either pour out your specimen prior to testing it and not letting you know or someone writing a prescription without the dosage on there and neglecting to call in the proper script, what use is being nice? I expect the same level of healthcare that the doctors at my job provide to our patients. I sat with a UTI (which, by the way I had to practically beg them to test for) for over a month and a half. I would not recommend this practice to anyone, including my worst enemy or a half dead dog. read more

Peachtree Women Specialist I'm writing this letter to express my feelings. I know that nothing can be done to change my birth experience that I had with this group, but I decided to give my feedback as you can maybe think better about and could help another woman to have a better experience than I had. For me, my whole pregnancy was something I expected so much. I had a hard time to get pregnant and after some time we were sent to Dr. Lisa Hasty at ACRM where we had an outstanding service. After a very emotional and stressful moment we were finally pregnant with IVF help. We graduated from ACRM to Peachtree Women Specialist to see Dr. Archie Robert who was my doctor since 2005. I had a good relationship with him. I love Dr. Robert and trust him. I had in my heart and mind that I wanted to have a normal deliver and I know that it's not always that way we plan and that is not the case here. Keeping in mind that I had to face a placenta previa until 35 weeks and I had to be clear out from my neurosurgeon. I am a very rare patient who survived an aneurism surgery and Dr. Robert was careful with me. I was very pleased with that and it made me very comfortable. I want you to stand on the point of view and imagine myself on the day I got at the hospital. So, it was January 5th 2015 around 1:45pm my water broke when I was not even 37 weeks yet. That day was one of the most expected moments of my life, not only for me. I was becoming a mom and husband a dad. It was the moment that I and my husband was becoming a family, a moment that my parents were becoming grandparents and meeting their only daughter's son. Our baby was so expected and we had so much love involved. I tried for so long to deliver my first son normal and all that I wanted it was to hold him on my arm and feel his skin to mine. That was the moment that I and he were becoming two separate human beings. It was January 6th 2015 around 9pm that Dr. James Knoer made the decision to take to the operating room for a C section. I felt so devastated and broke inside. I understand that the doctor has made the wiser decision that is not the case, but he didn't have any care and kindness to give me support and love at that moment. I had a birth photographer with me became it was something that I choose to have and it was for sure very important for me. Neither Dr. Knoer, nor the anesthetist, was supportive or care about my decisions or my birth plan. On that moment a small thing of taking the birth photographer with me in the room would have made me so much better. Unfortunately I feel like that moment was stolen from me. All I can remember of my birth was the nurses taking to the room. They were very impersonal and were there just to take my baby out of me. On the room, it was cold; my husband didn't get to room until my belly was already cut. I was alone, tired, scared, crying and tied to the bed. No one in the room cared about me or my feelings and even worse they were begin part of the most expected moment of my life and being rude at the same time. They were on the other side on the curtain talking about their own lives while cutting my bell. I felt horrible. I felt like a piece of meat. I was awake and becoming a mom. Dr. Knoer didn't even say congratulations and he didn't talk to my family on the hallway. All he wanted was to leave us. The whole point it isn't about normal versus C-section or allowing the birth photographer in the room or not. It was all about how everything was handled and how much Peachtree women specialist worked as a whole. I had so much help and my family and friends made fell loved that I didn't end up with postpartum depression. I took me over 3 months to talk about that day. I was just one more patient at your clinic, just one more number and just one more file on shelf. Peachtree Women Specialist maybe a place where doctors just know how to let the women's body try to do it normal and if not you just cut the patients' belly out and give a baby. It feels like vets do the same way, they don't care about the patients feeling or option. I don't feel like coming back to you. I'm so glad a found a doctor who cared about me and my family. I'm happy that I found a mother/baby friendly doctor and hospital. I want to have someone who can respect me and my option. read more

An insurance change this year means I have to switch my gyn from Dr. James Knoer, which is a bummer. I've had appointments with him in both his Vinings and Atlanta office, and give the highest marks to him and his staff. When I had a concern outside the scope of his practice (non-gyn related), he gave me some great advice and a recommendation to a colleague. The staff has been incredibly helpful in transferring records, refilling prescriptions, and even fitting me in for a last-minute appointment. An easy 5 stars. read more

Went here for a bit and then switched practices. The care was fine but very medically traditional. Very set in their ways -many of which seemed anachronistic or overly complicated. Their office manger Jenni is the worst. Trying to get any paper work, financials, etc taken care of is like pulling teeth. She never returns phone calls or messages you leave for her through other people. It's pretty horrendous and infuriating. We all have better things to do than chase after an office manager. While it seems trivial it's just indicative of the practices lack of patient focus. read more

Mixed reviews. Dr. Knoer is wonderful. He has delivered 2 of my 3 children and despite his patient load, always takes the time to listen, ensure your questions are answered and is compassionate. Other the other hand, I can NOT recommend Dr. Counihan. I have met her 3 times and 2 of the 3 times, she was cold, rude, and impatient. The other time she was super friendly to the point of fakeness. Plus we have had to go to my son's pediatrician 3 times since his circumcision because she did not handle it correctly - it is costing us time and money.. If you like a roller coaster, go to her but if you want consistency see Dr. Knoer, Dr. Dozier or Dr. Roberts. read more

I have been through three pregnancies at this practice. Dr Roberts delivered both my babies and helped me through an emotional miscarriage. I have been so happy with my care both physically and emotionally. I felt fully supported during my deliveries and now that my baby days are behind me I continue to experience wonderful care. They care more about their deposits than the care of their patients. I am waiting to see if I can give delivery in a midwifery over a hospital because of the disgusting capitalism of birth in America. Barriers to this are health related. Everything in my pregnancy is perfect thus far, but I am waiting on one last test. They have contacted me multiple times to get a deposit despite the fact that I have said I may not give birth at that location, and therefore would not need a deposit. If it weren't for the exceptional and caring brain of Dr. Babaliaros, I would be gone by now. Overall bad customer service. Each time I visited I waited about over an hour after my scheduled time to go the back. My final appointment was scheduled at 300pm. I wanted to discuss with the doctor my procedure and receive clarification on the procedure before scheduling. I was sitting in another waiting area behind the front desk (415pm) and I overheard the doctor (Dr. Knoer) say to the nurse 'What are we still doing here?' Very rude although I'm sure the doctor did not know I was sitting there. He was slightly condescending during our visit but eased up when he realized I was simply wanting to make sure I understood the process before slicing my stomach open... I've called several times to speak with the practice manager on my bill. It always goes to voicemail and she never calls back. Needless to say, I went with another doctor which I've never waited 5 min after my scheduled appointment time. I would not recommend. read more

Dr Knoer is FANTASTIC. He was our OBGYN over the past ten months, and delivered our baby last week. I have yet to meet a doctor who is more prepared, thoughtful, competent and caring. We are a mixed race couple, and loved the diversity of Dr. Knoer's office and of the maternity ward of Piedmont Hospital, where our wonderful baby was delivered. The office visits were a model of efficiency and human touch - we had lots of questions and he was calm, knowledgeable and patient, giving us all the information we needed to know about genetic testing, ultrasound results, and risk factors related to age and race. The experience of delivery comes with a great deal of anxiety, and Dr. Knoer went well beyond the call of duty to make us feel comfortable. He greeted us with a smile on induction day, reassured my girlfriend and I, described all the steps of the procedure in detail, and left his number for us to call during the night in case of emergency. On delivery day, he was a rock - steady, confident, and on top of things from minute 1. When our baby's heartbeat dropped, he instructed Veronica, an exceptional delivery nurse, and my girlfriend on what to do, and quickly and safely extracted the baby. The postpartum care was stellar - all the nurses and doctors at the hospital went the extra mile, and were super supportive. If you want a safe pregnancy and delivery, with the most professional doctor we have ever met, choose Dr. Knoer. A++++. read more

This review is for the location in Brookhaven, but I put it under Paces, since the Brookhaven location wasn't available on Yelp. But when I was burned badly by my prior OB/GYN with multiple mishandlings of Rx's, Peachtree Women's Specialists were able to get me in the day after I called, despite me being a new patient. The clinic is clean & modern. The staff were all SUPER sweet & understanding, & so was the doctor! She was able to get my Rx called into the pharmacy in no time! DEFinitely sticking with this one. I recently gave birth to my first child and had a great experience with this physician group, particularly my primary obgyn- Dr. Melissa Counihan. Dr. Counihan was wonderful throughout the entire pregnancy and, in particular, the birth. She was professional and had a calming influence. She is a great doctor and I'm very thankful she was on call the night I went into labor. I would absolutely recommend her for anyone looking for a laid back yet smart and skilled obgyn. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Lillian Schapiro for a number of years now. She is a wonderful physician and skilled surgeon. She spends time with you, really listens to your concerns and offers sound advice with a plan. I've never felt rushed when meeting with her. To me she is more than a doctor, she's a healer. I have seen her for 13 years and had surgery last year which she performed and my recovery was amazing.i work for the largest healthcare system in Atlanta but I choose to go out of network instead of being treated like cattle. Reading the other reviews makes me realize how very subjective these things are. So far I have had great experiences with almost all of the doctors in this practice. I especially love Dr. Dozier and Dr. Roberts. On the other hand, I have not been a fan of Dr. Knoer. I think that he is smug, doesn't even pretend to care, and generally has a terrible bedside manner, and then I read these reviews and see how much others really like him. It just goes to show that the choice of doctors is so very personal and subjective. I remember going to a doctor once that a good friend of mine recommended because she loved her. I thought she had a terrible bedside manner and never went again. I say that to say, take my opinion and the others with a grain of salt. Ultimately I think we have to just try doctors for ourselves. One doctor's personality may be a great fit for me, but not for you and vice versa. read more

I actually love all the doctors here. I have been with the practice since 2008 and love them all. I like the convenience of the lab and someone to help you handle insurance claims. That part they have down. It's also nice to have the nurse triage to ask questions too. I will say I'm super bummed and thinking of leaving the practice because of lack of follow through with the nurses. This is out of the norm for them. With my last pregnancy the nurses time and time again have not followed through. I have even called back several times and left several messages with a week span. When they have called back I have gotten a response that was unfriendly or said they would call me back after speaking with the doctor or another nurse and ended up dropping the ball. Coming out of a c section it makes me nervous and feel a little self conscious of why aren't they calling me back. I really hope it's something that can be corrected and maybe they are short handed or adjusting to changes. read more

(Buckhead Location) - I'm so disappointed with how I have been treated as a patient here by the office management. After needing to reschedule an appointment, they scheduled it on the wrong date without my knowledge. I ignored an auto-call that was clearly in error but then received a 'no show' bill in the mail for $50. After two weeks of calling and trying to get ahold of someone to explain and remove this charge from my account, I was told that it was my fault for not being more pro-active and they would not allow me in to see my doctor until the balance had been paid citing their financial policy but surprisingly, I could still have the original appt date that I had originally scheduled which they refused to acknowledge. I think the doctors here and the care are great, but being held hostage by their management office is absolutely unprofessional, unethical and completely enraging. I will be looking for a new doctor due to their disgusting behavior and profiteering patient policies. They will not receive any more 'business' from me or anyone else I know. read more
