If you like cooking Indian food at home, then this is the place to go to get your spices,…read morevegetables, poppadums, chutneys and so on. Food Hall has everything you will need. Spices stocked range from hard-to-find black cardamom pods to fresh curry leaves to ready made masalas. They have tens of different types of lentils and pulses of all colours shapes and sizes including pigeon peas, black, yellow, green, and red lentils. They also carry an excellent range of proper poppadums which are great fun to cook at home, either in deep oil, in a microwave, or over a naked flame: watch them puff up and make your kitchen smell of whichever variety you've chosen (cumin, fenugreek etc)! They stock pretty much every type of Indian chutney/pickle imaginable, often with several different brands of each. There was a taste test table for one brand set up at the front of the shop when I last went in, dabbing brightly-coloured pickles onto tabs of pitta bread. Two long freezer cabinets contain bags of ready made samosas, pakora and other delicacies, in addition to pre-chopped and portioned blocks of fresh ginger and garlic wonderful for time-saving if you cook Indian food frequently! Anyone who enjoys cooking Indian food and hasn't already discovered this wonderful source of supplies should check it out.

This is the most wonderful Thai shop, there is everything you need here but there is only one thing you really need - the curry pastes. All made by the owner, they are tastiest curries I have ever had, I buy them in bulk as they last for a about a year in your fridge and they are incredibly cheap. If you have left over veg or meat you just pop one tablespoon on paste to one can of coconut milk- et voila! Do you fridge a favour and visit.

They have a huge selection of spices and have what I need 9 out of 10 times, as well as tinned beans, coconut milk, curry pastes, etc. Lots of dry goods like rice and legumes. They have a small selection of fresh produce like garlic, ginger, lemons, chillies, aubergine, okra, etc- your typical veggies for Indian fare. And the prices are really, really good. Much better than Tesco's down the road. If I know they will have it, I come here first because: -Those happy men! They will help you out! -Supporting a little local store -Holy crap, it's cheap. Be careful, there are two Seewoo websites, so make sure you're on the right one. I've now ordered twice, and while I'm grateful to be able to get delivery, they are not a fully slick service so there might be the following issues: 1) When you email the order, you have to wait for them to call back to give you a delivery date. This could be days/up to a week later. And it has to be delivered the next day after they call you to take payment 2) I had an order come a day later than was given 3) I've had items missing from my order, some charged and some not 4) I've had an item expiring 4 days before my delivery date, and another expiring the same day. 5) They cannot process refunds at this point, the only thing they can do is after COVID lockdown is over, you have to visit the shop in Chinatown with your invoices and complaint, and they will sort it out there. So if you're willing to accept the above, then this is a great way to get some Asian groceries delivered directly to your door.

If you spot a traffic jam on Lisle Street, you've probably found the store - there are usually trucks unloading outside, which blocks up the narrow street. That's quite apt as the aisles inside are also quite narrow and the place can become quite crowded if there are lots of people inside. It has the usual mix of fresh and canned/preserved Asian goods. I don't shop here often and find it a little hard to navigate. The range isn't bad though it's not as comprehensive as some of the bigger supermarkets. However, as it's off the beaten path, sometimes you can find something here which is sold out elsewhere. So you may see me at Seewoo!

Let me just mention some of the stuff they have: prawn crackers (to make on your own with oil at home), sweet chilli sauce, soba (japanese noodles), wasabi, chili oil, wasabi peas (spicy but good), soy sauce, japanese stock, seaweed, crackers, and its best to go and have a look because there is bound to be something there you'll love!
