One of the few local bakeries open 24 hours, Marilet's serve one of the yummiest spanish bread and pan de coco among the many local bakeries across Manila.
Their spanish bread is always served hot because the store actually never displays it. I asked the tindera where the spanish bread is and they said they put it beside the oven so that it's always hot. The filling of the bread is generously distributed up to the end parts of the bread so that when you get your first bite, you get to taste the filling right away. For Php 3/bread, this isn't really bad!
Pan de coco is only sold at around 4pm and in a few minutes, its already sold out. Just like the spanish bread, pan de coco is served hot. The coco filling inside is sweet enough to balance the bland taste of the bread. Best paired with soft drinks, this pan de coco is knock-out for many people in the area. I frequent this area and I always make it a point that I buy any of the bread sold. read more
