We had an event at a remote location in Marin, so it was important that we find a service who could accommodate special instructions. From all the reviews with five stars, Marin Car Service seemed to be the perfect choice. And they did not disappoint. Just before pickup time, we decided to stay a little longer of the driver could accommodate if we paid for it. I sent an email asking if that would be possible and if the driver could call me. Within five minutes, I had an email response and then the driver called. I talked to him about the change in plans and gave directions to a new pickup point. Brian was prompt and safe but went above and beyond in helping my 88 year old mom get into her house when she discovered she had locked herself out after returning home. Brian took her to the store to buy batteries for her garage door opener as that was not working. Then he called the fire department who came and got my mom into her house. We chose Marin Car Service based on yelp reviews and I'm glad we did! The car arrived at our house 2 minutes early (perfect!). The driver was very nice and drove well; we felt safe throughout. She showed how great she really was when I left my wallet in the car when she dropped us at SFO. I texted Brian and he immediately had our driver call me and she turned right around. For the ride home from SFO, the driver texted us right before our flight landed so we could connect. We told him where we were going to come out and he was right there. He had water for us. Set up a reservation to pick up my wife to go the airport and they were a no show. I am still working and as a result had to take time off work to drive her to the airport. We used Marin Car Service for a trip last year. We're travelling again and I immediately contacted MCS. It was then that I realized that I'd never taken the time to do a review. Shame on me! OK. Here's the deal. I hate traveling. I hate every aspect of traveling. I hate packing. I hate airports. I hate flying. I hate waking up early. I hate lines. You get the idea.... So if ANY part of a travel day can be pleasant, I'm ecstatic. Marin Car Service was seriously the highlight of that travel day last year. It was hella early...our flight left SFO at 7am. Ugh. Why do I do that to myself? Brian arrived promptly at 430am. Ridiculously early. The car was clean, warm (much appreciated) and he asked if we wanted the radio on or not. He even asked what music we like. OK. He scored BIG points with me there. I am in and out of cabs a bazillion times when I'm in CHICAGO 4-6 times a year. There is NOTHING worse than getting into a car and the driver is blaring country music or some equally annoying crap. So yeah, BIG points. The drive was quick, expertly driven, and very pleasant. Worst part was getting out and having to go into SFO at 5am with all the other early morning travelling zombies. Our return was equally pleasant. I had a text from the driver as the plane landed. He asked us to text when we had our luggage in hand. The car pulled up just as we were exiting the door. I felt like royalty :) Even BIGGER points scored here. I had a great experience with Marin Car Service. Brian picked me up at 3:30 am because I was traveling with a small dog and had to check in 2 1/2 hours early. He was wonderful - Carried my suitcase up a flight of stairs from my apt. and loaded it and allowed my small dog to ride in my lap to the airport. On my return trip I missed my connection due to weather delays and texted Brian from Dallas that I was on standby. He stuck with me and sent a driver to pick me up when I arrived at SFO at 2 a.m. Great service from both drivers. I will use them again the next time I need a ride to the airport. Mark was very helpful in arranging the pick-up of my family in San Rafael and my parents in Mill Valley and taking us to SFO. Kiko, our driver, arrived on time and was very helpful in getting all the luggage in the SUV limo. He was very attentive to my parents, who can't get around very well, and offered all of us water while he got us to the airport on time. On our outbound trip, the driver showed up a few minutes early - which is always a relief when catching a flight. I used Marin Car Service to take my wife and I to and from SFO for our honeymoon. I would highly recommend the service. From initial booking to final pick up to take us home, it was a great experience. Brian was very responsive in regard to arranging our pick up from our house in San Rafael, and finally from SFO back to our house 3 weeks later. The driver was 10 minutes early, which was great. Also, on our return trip, the driver had our flight details, and was waiting when we arrived into SFO from our 13 hour flight. My wife chipped her tooth on the flight back, so we asked the driver to make a stop at her Dentist in San Francisco, and he had no problem doing this, even though it was slightly out of the way. Both drivers were very professional, and had clean, comfortable cars. And as mentioned before, Brian was a pleasure to work with. read more
