I gave these guys a big challenge and there service way beyond what I expected. Relocating from Sausalito to Sarasota FL. My two dogs were traveling with me. Pick up time was 5:30 AM but I was running a bit late and I was in a total state of frazzled nerves. My driver Ferdie was so helpful and kind he really kept me together. First stop cargo for my Whippet who although mildly sedated was not having anything to do with the crate. We are running late and I am try reassemble crate and fill out many forms. Ferdie was in cargo with me helping me with the crate and the dog, while holding my other dog.Then he got me and my other dog with a ton of luggage to the airport on time. He was my Saint! And I would certainly add to their great record of excellence! We were taking the California Zephyr from Emeryville and then flying home to SFO; therefore, parking a car wasn't really feasible. Emailed Marin Car Service (per website instructions), and within 15 minutes, received a confirmation email. Both car experiences (to the train station and home from the airport) were great! Drivers were on-time (if not early), helped load our luggage (we had four suitcases!), and were excellent drivers. Cars were very clean and comfortable. Payment was easy! Our flight was a little late landing into SFO, but they track your flight to know of any delays, etc. and when we landed, we had a text waiting from our driver to pick us up. We had a 6 am international flight and the airporter bus didn't run early enough for us. So we contacted Marin Car Service, asked them a couple of questions (via email & got a quick response) and made a reservation. Our driver came on time and delivered us promptly to SFO. Although we could have taken the airporter from our return flight, we decided that after an 11 hr flight we didn't want to have to wait around and spend more time stopping everywhere (ours is the last Airporter stop), so booked the round trip car service. Our flight got in early. We got a text that the driver was ready and for us to let him know once we got our bags. And so we did and he told us where to meet him, and our driver pulled up just as we were walking over to the pick up location. Easy pee-zee. We felt safe and comfortable with their driving. Brian and Marin Car Service are the best. The only negative is that they book up really fast so book early! Always responsive, vehicles and drivers are excellent. (Our last driver, Duilio, was prompt, professional, and sweet with the little one.) We have needed a car seat the last couple of times we went with Marin Car Service. They asked me to install my car seat in their vehicle, and explained the insurance reasons why. Then they would hold the seat and make sure it was in the car when we were picked up again at the end of the trip. Did so with no problems. Car seat always there and ready to go. (Honestly, I kinda like this approach, since I know my kid's car seat is top quality/safety rated and I know it fits her right.) Little note: This last trip my wife left left her coffee cup in the car. When we were picked up 4 days later, there was the cup and it was washed! Pretty great. read more

We booked Marin Car Service via email when we were abroad. The communication was great and easy. We gave Brian all the information he needed and from there on it was smooth riding. We were picked up by Kiko who was on time and helpful. He knew that traffic was heavy and took us on a detour and got us back home with only very little traffic. Would give zero stars if I could. I called MCS because of their stellar reviews. I needed a pick up for Tuesday from San Rafael to SFO. I called and spoke with Brian, and originally needed the round trip. I waited for several hours for them to email me the information they needed and decided to just copy & paste from their website and provide the information they would need. However, circumstances changed(as they sometimes do) and we only required the delivery to SFO and not the round trip. When I emailed that information to them, because they still had not sent the email asking for the pick up information, I stated that it would only be for the one way. I received the following email(s) from Brian: Ok. You are all set for the outbound on Tuesday the 25th at 4 a.m. Do you need a return trip? We watch the flight and whether it's an hour early or 5 hours late, we will be there. At our prices, we really try to get the return trip because we book up solid everyday and if we take only outbound early morning calls and they are taking the Airporter back or some other method what happens is anybody that calls in to book with us and outbound and return trip we lose their business because we are already booked up in the morning with one-way trips and they will not allow us to pick us up on the return. Please consider it as our prices are this low intended for round trip business but I already accepted your call over the phone. My 1st reply: Hi Brian, As I mentioned, I called you guys because of your Yelp reviews. It looks like your rates are $95 one way? Or is that RT? Can you confirm? If it's $95 RT, then we'll all and cancel our friend who offered to pick us up on Friday and stay with you. However, if it's $95 each way, we'll just stay with the one time pick up and have our friend come get us. The reason we're not having our friend drive us to the airport is because it's too early and they don't have to work on Friday. Either way, we're happy to have booked your service. I don't want to bore you with our business plan but in the interest of trying to explain...Everyday of the year we are booked solid. Typically 3 or 4 days in advance we are booked and start turning calls down because all 5 of us drivers have calls from 4am till midnight. For any calls that we take going one way means that another customer that calls after that who wanted a ride back from the airport as well we have to turn down, therefore losing out on both rides. If we were charging more money like Strawberry Limo ($45 more than us each way) or Uber (at least $30 more depending on the time of the day) then we could afford to do one way trips. I'm so sorry, especially on the 2nd busiest day of the year for us, right before Thanksgiving. Brian -- Another thing I didn't include are the follow up emails he sent, when I corrected him on the cost he incorrectly quoted for another company and the rudeness he displayed. Unbelievable how unprofessional this guy was. So apparently, they are booked solid 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Decided I was done with the Marin Airporter, Park and Fly, and paying for parking long-term at the airport with my 83-year-old mother in tow. Looked on Yelp and found great reviews on Marin Car Service and decided to splurge and give them a try. I am very, VERY happy with this company. Brian and Kiko were excellent communicators, on time, safe drivers, and extremely respectful, friendly, and helpful. They had no problem picking up my mother from her retirement home, helping her with luggage, and then picking me up from a separate address. Both trips were stress-free, comfortable and absolutely the way to get to SFO from Marin. It was well worth the $216 round-trip (before tip). This was the worst experience I've ever had communicating with a company. My girlfriend's flight got delayed, and so she was going to miss the Marin Airporter. I called this company to see if by chance they could go get her on short notice. A simple "No, sorry, we're booked up." Would have been understandable. What happened though, is the man I was talking to said to me, "Well, we could have if you had called us a couple days ago." I said, "No problem, as I said this is a change of plans that just happened a few minutes ago and I'm trying to find a solution." The man then continued and said, "Yeah you know, we don't like to be people's back ups. If you wanted us, you should have booked us first." He kept talking about what I should have done, and not wanting to be my "back up". I hung up the phone because I was so appalled to be getting lectured like this. read more

We used Marin Car Service for the first time in August to get to and from SFO from Greenbrae and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Although we needed to hit the road at 4:30 am are driver was ready to go a few minutes early. The black town car was new and clean and he offered my wife and kids water for the trip to the airport. The pick up for our return to Marin two weeks later couldn't have gone more smoothly. Marin Car service replied immediately to my 'reminder' email the day before we flew back to SFO and the driver was there to meet us right after we picked up our bags. It was a different driver in a different vehicle (a well-appointed black SUV) but he was equally professional and conscientious. I've used Marin Car Service multiple times for service to and from Novato and SFO and every trip has been great. All of the drivers are courteous and have arrived early for pickups. The cars are clean, comfortable and well stocked with bottles of water, Kleenex and even hand sanitizer. As soon as the plane lands and I turn on my phone there is a text letting me know my driver's name and number as well a text from the driver letting me know he's there. I've had early morning flights, late night arrivals, delayed flights and flights that got in early and have never waited more than a few minutes for the car to get there. Very happy with their service. They tracked my flight into OAK and drover Kiko was there to pick me up on time despite a lengthy delay. Impeccable vehicle and a very nice driver. Price from OAK to Fairfax was about $20 cheaper than a taxi I had taken before; it's still expensive but unless you take a bus, taking a private car from either OAK or SFO to Marin County is just expensive (over $100 with tip). I booked Marin Car Service after reading really great reviews on Yelp. So I decided that I would give them a try. I needed a car service to pick us up from several places in the city to the hotel in Marin where all our families were staying over the labor day weekend to attend my wedding. But I did book a return trip from our wedding venue back to our homes after the wedding. Everything went smoothly. I got prompt responses from Brian, great coordination throughout the whole thing, even when I had to change our plans to swing by to the hotel to pick up the groom's mother before heading back to the city.
