I was planning on surprising my wife with a nice romantic dinner. She had an accident a few years ago and has lasting daily symptoms from her brain injury and loud restaurants are very difficult for her. Noise cancelling headphones help her, but it just extends the period of time before she is exhausted by a little bit. When I found these dome experiences, it was perfect, we could go out to eat without the background noise in an amazing setting! Arrived on Saturday and they could not find our reservations, I had downloaded the tickets from TripAdvisor. Initially, he tried to tell me it was for the boat restaurant, but the tickets clearly said dome experience. He called the owner and after a bit, the owner told him we cancelled. We did not cancel, nor does TripAdvisor allow any cancellations of this particular experience. I was extremely disappointed, but what we saw while we were there waiting softened the blow a bit. Upon getting back to our hotel later, I logged into my credit card account, and did indeed see a refund for the tour 4 days after we booked, but we never received any email notification on that, and had no idea. Assuming they aren't synced up properly, and possibly overbooked between their website and the 3rd party site. Now back to what we saw while there... When we arrived, we were slightly early, so we boarded the boat, and went downstairs to use the restroom, which is the main dining area. There was a large rack that held plates of food (over a dozen) in the main hallway, all uncovered, and less than 5' from the Men's room door. While in the restroom, there was a small home type soap dispenser that was completely empty, and upon my wife completing her visit to the ladies room, she mentioned the same thing for the women's room. Got a very bad vibe of the cleanliness of the entire operation, and in reading reviews for the boat experience (which is the same food as the dome), many review complained about poor tasting food, hair in food, etc. Certainly, if they had plates of food yet to be served out in the full open near the men's room, I can only imagine what we're not seeing behind the scenes. Ended up walking back to Old Town and going to the Keg steakhouse. My wife didn't last long there, and it was not the experience we wanted, but the food was excellent. I'm hoping that the place gets a visit from health inspectors, as the issue that we saw alone had to be a code violation and nobody bothering with soap in the bathrooms, which were the only bathrooms there, so the employees use them too. If you do end up going, I imagine the domes are incredible, just maybe bring your own food! (Kidding of course, they would not allow)

The service was good and the bartender was nice and funny. I will definitely come back again when we have visitors and want to give them a vacation-y experience. The food was mediocre. We ordered nachos and the chips were good and crunchy. The banana peppers were an interesting alternative to the jalapeños normally provided. The salsa tasted jarred. The guacamole came in a vacuum sealed Sam's club kindof packaging. Nothing fresh going on but the sad lettuce included. The bar was really fun but my mojito could have used a bit more alcohol. Lots frozen boat drinks available and next time we might try one of those. My husband said there is a decent range of beer but they could definitely do a better job of offering some local vermont beers. This place has the potential to be great.

He claimed one man on the boat weighed over 275, who in fact, is no where NEAR 275. When we told the worker that he responded telling us he will bring a scale and weigh us next time. We made it clear we are fine being weighed because we simply are a skinny family and were not remotely close to the 1400 pound limit. After hearing we were okay with being weighed he then decided he decided he is just going to refuse to sell to us again. They claimed our family is over weight (majority of us have never been over 155) then just decided they didn't want to sell to us realizing we were over weight.

The women on the line was very unpleasant and told me to go to their online website to find availabilities and to reserve because she obviously seemed to have something better to do. I went on the website, reserved (payment of over 500$) and called back to say that I had reserved and might need some additional buoys for tubing. She assured me all was fine and they were expecting us. Our group of 11 people drove an hour to go there only to be told that the requested boat was no longer available and that we "should just take" a 9 person boat because thats all they had left. An idea that would not seem that bad if it wasn't for the fact that we would have to leave two people at the beach, the boat being half the horsepower and at THE SAME PRICE. A meek apology was provided and a notice that a refund would only be done on the Monday and when we asked how come the boat we PAID and reserved that morning was no longer available, the clerk became defensive and rude and said it was due to a client that had cancelled originally and then decided to come back 1 hour later so they gave it to him since "he had put a deposit". We did not receive a call to ask if a smaller boat suited us. It would have helped 11 people not waste 3 hours of their time as well as gas money... Overall the customer experience was abysmal, the staff were rude and no solutions were provided. The wait time the previous time when we took the jetskis was atrocious. Avoid this place if you do not want to feel like a walking ATM and want to enjoy your birthday.
