My wife have lived here 2 years and I cannot even begin to explain the nightmare it has been! Let me begin with year one, we were excited for our new apartment on the beach and yes like other reviews said they show you a unit that isn't going to be yours and just paint over everything! The ROACH problem does not end! Shortly after moving in we lost the pool and then the chaos of the valet parking. Which not only left our car with scratches and door dings but no one to be held Accountable! VALET lost our cars 3 separate times! And one of those times cost my wife her job!!! Since the car wasn't found until an hour later. Next after multiple request to move units we were denied changing unit. Now, into beginning year 2 we couldn't move due to COVID19 being in full swing so we remained in MDM only to almost loose our minds with the construction and the construction trucks at all times of the day and night and including SATURDAY'S until 5PM.. disregard your right to peaceful place to live. I have videos of the construction garbage truck unloading and loading container on Saturday at 5:30AM! Now halfway through the lockdown from Covid we advised management multiple times of mold in our ceiling! Our request was denied and only painted over the area "maintenance manager" Jose assured me they repaired the water leak coming from upstairs. To only come back 4 months later to swallow his words and not even apologize for forcing bus to live with black mold in our bathroom!!! My wife kept suffering from rashes in her body after she showered. After they decided to handle the mold issue.. their action was remove a 12 inch by 24inch piece of drywall and leave the other portion just sprayed with bleach and cover back up! About mid February I continue to have allergy flare ups and trouble breathing while I showered . I looked back inside the ceiling to discover more black mold! (Mind you they never followed the procedure to properly mitigate mold) finally this time I bring pictures and they took down half the ceiling. No protection barrier from the bathroom spewing mold spores into the bedroom and carpet! Moreover we showed them another mold problem area in the closet. Samantha and Jose were handling the issue. To only have Jose once again tell me that they were only Going to paint over the mold and use (Killz) this does not kill mold!!!! They argued why they don't want to open or replace the drywall. Again they extend their blatant culpable negligence!!! And decided to argue with us some more! We moved here in May 2021. I'll provide the positives and negatives of living at Marina Del Mar. Positives: -Views, Views, and more Views! -Location is perfect between Hollywood and Miami Beach -Pool is nice Negatives: -Roaches, loads of roaches. They will tell you it's because you have pets. This is incorrect as I have spoke to many people with no pets in our building who live in older and newly renovated units, who have attested to having roaches infested in their kitchens and living rooms. -Parking lot gate inconsistencies. Every 1-2 months our gates to the parking structure do not work and they stay up. People who care about their vehicles safety and who chose to live at Marina Del Mar, assume to expect some consistency to the ever-so-changing gate issue arising. -Laundry units. They changed the units in the community laundry rooms on each floor recently. Ever since the changes the machines never work properly. Sometimes overflowing of water happens in the laundry room. Additionally, the pay scanner does not work on our floor from time to time. Moreso recently, in October one of the dryers pay scanners stopped working. I informed the office several times with no action or notice to the residents on our floor. You will also have some special folks in the building who like to pull the plug from the washing machine while you're using it for "fun" (I am assuming their version of fun). This isn't the offices problem or their fault, but I am letting you know what type of people live in this building. -Construction everywhere. When we moved in here in Mid-May 2021 we were informed at the time of signing that construction would take place through the end of summer 2021. Unfortunately for us, construction for our windows and sliding door wasn't completed until December 2021. We were not able to use our balcony at all during that time. Keep in mind we have an older unit. All we heard was loud construction the entire time because it was done in phases. We couldn't sleep in slightly late because of our work schedule. The additional noise on Saturday mornings super early was very unpleasant. In addition to more construction at the lobby took longer than expected, no shock there. They told us it would take the entire summer of 2022 but it was not until November 2022 when construction was finished. -Bad communication. Now, I am only stating what happened to us in detail so take it for what it is worth. We have two cars and we parked next to each other on the 6th floor because it was very empty after the 5th floor. We are assigned parking spots as the leasing office provides you with your spot number. We thought it would be okay since the third party company who drives around in the parking structure knew me on a more friendly level. We received a text that one of our cars had to be moved to the respective parking spot. I went to the office to talk to a lady and stated I will move both vehicles to their respective parking spots. I asked her to give me until the evening to move the vehicles because I was about to have a virtual meeting to join. She gave me the okay. In addition, I requested to park one of my vehicles all the way on the 8th floor, and my request was granted by the lady. After my meeting had ended about two hours later, I go outside to walk my dogs and see one of my vehicles getting towed out of the parking structure. I immediately stopped the guy driving and explained the situation. I was confused how the office made the mistake of granting me the request but then seeing my vehicle get towed. I asked the gentleman to wait so I could get the lady from the office to assist me. I was lucky to run into her as I walked back into the building. She was able to assist me at that moment which I was grateful. However, the next day I walked into the office with the paper that said she was parked in the wrong spot. She has a transponder on her vehicle. The office usually texts residents if they parked in the wrong spot or if they can move their vehicle. We were texted the morning of the issue when we spoke. The worst part was they issued the incorrect parking spot that morning and towed that afternoon. Usually, they issue the incorrect parking spot slip the first day and tow the second day. Nevertheless, grateful the car didn't get towed. -Druggie's scattered in the building. We could have lost our pets when we left to go grocery shopping. When we pulled up the fire department was here to put out a fire in the building because someone on the 9th floor decided to cook meth in their bedroom closet. Occasional weed smell on various floors. -Luxury does not exist at Marina Del Mar. They try to sell their apartments as luxury but it's far from it. The newly renovated units do not look luxury and isn't that much of an upgrade compared to the older units. No fan in the bathrooms can get real steamy in there. -Elevators do not work properly in this building and consistently take you to the wrong floor. read more

Location Location Location. That's about all MDM has going for it. While the apartments are soundproof I'd much rather them be roach proof. The building is infested and they are aware of it. Half of the units have old cheap "wood" countertops that have the counters painted with a black or beige plastor spray. While I understand it saves them money it also serves as an ideal breading ground for roaches. They are the prime example of a company that does not care. Maintenance issues are "solved" in the cheapest way possible if at all. When you move in you will never see your actual unit. When you finally see your unit after you've signed your lease you discover that they barley surface cleaned after the previous tenant and painted over anything that needed to be scrubbed clean (paint over tape, hair, dust, holes, etc). There are renovated units, however, neighbors of mine said they too have roaches. While living at MDM I moved units bc the pest issue was so bad. When I got to my new floor the problem was still there and unfortunately I wasn't alone half of the people in my corridor moved bc of the pest problem. They've recently built a parking garage, allowing them to build a new building in the previously vacant but to audio combat the regular car thefts. Issue with that, the garage isn't secure, so *shrug*. They have also updated the pool area, it looks great. That's the nicest thing I can say. Me and my fiancé have lived here about a month now and have had the best experience. The location is incredible and the area is beautiful. We had less than a month to find a place with our previous lease ending and Francesca and Jo in the leasing office handled everything very quickly. Francesca was amazing at answering all our questions via email and phone calls leading up to our move in date. Can't beat the amenities such as the pool, cafe room, full gym and entertainment room with pool table and other games. I talked to management again like they said too and they forgot to send pest control. We asked again the following week (they only send someone to spray on Thursdays). I contacted management immediately and the problem has been persistent to this day. The apartment is infested with cockroaches and management does nothing and we pay over $2300 to live on the beach. The management are despicable animals that ignore request after request for help and attention. They are rude and disrespectful, even though we have paid our rent on time for over a year and have never been late with payment. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU!! Besides the roach problem, one of the burners on the stove is broken, the shower is falling apart under my feet (they have done nothing to help), and they allow prostitutes to rent here as well. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to rent apartments all around the world. Marina Del Mar was by far the worst place I have ever lived. Management has a serious attitude problem when it comes to fixing issues. The shower would never stay a consistent temperature. It was always freezing. I complained consistently and the building did nothing to help. At night when I opened the lights, swarms of cockroaches would emerge from every corner of the kitchen and bathrooms. I would even find cockroaches in the food I put away in the fridge. I am a very clean person. There is no reason why there should be a cockroach infestation. They closed the pool and started construction towards the end of 2019. I work from home and cannot get a moment's peace without constant drilling from first thing in the morning until sundown. I like living here. They just re modeled the apartment and its looks a lot better! The REAL ISSUE is that the day shift lady that works front desk is VERY RUDE! I decided to go for a run before work and accidentally left my keys up stairs in my apartment. I come back and politely tell the front desk lady and asked if she could open the door and let me in. She gave me a dirty look and would NOT let me in until I showed her proof I lived there or my id. I didn't have anything because I went on a quick jog. Eventually my neighbor let me through the door thank god. With all of that happening, she made me late for work. I DO NOT need to be DISRESPECTED by this clown. I see here all the time so for her to interrogate me and make me feel like I was doing something wrong just to go inside my building is absurd.
