Overall, the MCX at Camp Lejeune offers a wonderful shopping experience. The entire store was beautifully decorated for the holidays, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere. Associates throughout the store were knowledgeable, friendly, and cheerful, which truly added to the experience during a busy shopping season. There were plenty of sales and special pricing available, making it easy to find great values. The gun counter was extensive and well organized, and the associate working there was both knowledgeable and friendly. The electronics department was impressive with a wide selection, and the children's clothing section was especially large, offering many options for all ages. However, there was one major drawback that significantly impacted my visit. Another patron and I did not have our physical Star Cards with us and needed assistance retrieving our accounts. We were told there was only one person on duty who could access this information at night. Unfortunately, we were informed that this associate was working another job, arrived 40 minutes late, and that we simply had to wait. We were also told that we could drive to another location if we didn't want to wait--but that is not a reasonable expectation for shoppers who are already in-store and ready to purchase. To make matters worse, when the associate finally arrived, there was no apology for the delay. This staffing limitation and lack of accountability was frustrating and ultimately spoiled what otherwise would have been an excellent shopping experience. It makes little sense to have only one individual authorized to handle such an essential function, especially during evening hours and the holiday season. With better contingency planning and customer communication, this could easily be corrected--because aside from this issue, the MCX truly excels in many areas. read more

This location is pretty big, they have lots of stuff uniforms, furniture, clothing, shoes, cosmetics, seasonal and electronics! They also have a lot of good deals on good brands like Apple, Kate Spade, Clinique, etc. Have gone Black Friday shopping here and it's very well organized too! The food court section is also clean and depending on the time it can be very packed & hectic, but that's understandable! read more

I love coming here because I am able to find things from clothes to shoes at a great price. The employees are always professional and courteous. They have a variety of clothing name brands and this goes for shoes as well. Now one of my favorite things is handbags oh dear talk about good prices as compared to other stores. I simply cannot complain about the MCX because normally when buying out I town I would spend more than I should, however here that isn't the case. The food court here is has Wendy's, Subway, Panda Express and more! And there is a seating area to enjoy your food. You'll also find GNC, Cigars, Vapor & More , pharmacy, military clothing and all the pins, medals etc needed for uniforms. Let me also mention that if you are in the military you can bring your medals etc to be mounted inside here as they send them off to be done. Great price too! They also do dog tags, uniform special orders, and accept Star Card payments. I love coming here and to any new military families make sure to swing by and utilize the MCX. For this I'll be rhyming, and here's the reason: I'm celebrating early this holiday season! I walked inside with feelings of bliss, For some gear that I needed was all but a miss. Walking the aisle I saw all these deals, I assumed for these prices they were all steals! How wrong I was when I looked deeper within Prices that high well it should have been a sin. Forget rhyming, this place isn't as convenient as I thought. I love ramen noodles peeps (Balling on a budget). I can't believe they sell them for 40 cents a pack when Walmart sells them for half that! It's the same with more of the items in this establishment like the many cleaning products I needed. 409 cleaning spray for 2.98 here when it's 2.39 at Walmart. 3.89 for a bottle of Windex here, but 3.12 at Walmart. Based on this, you can see some of the differences in prices. Tax free doesn't always mean, "tax free." The only convenience I see is the location for Marines. Not all its cracked up to be, it may claim to be tax free but I've noticed that the prices usually compensate for that, here's some examples MacBook pro 13.3" Mcx price- 1197.00 Best buy price- 1119.00 (after tax 1198.00) 32 pk deer park bottled water Mcx price- 3.99 Sams club- 2.99 (after tax 3.89) There were more but you get the point, all I'm saying is if you shop here because you think "tax free" means it's cheaper you might want to look around. If you think I'm wrong check out the gas prices on base, for today it's hovering around $3.87, but at go gas on n. marine I filled up my tank at $3.82 a gallon. read more

This place is impressive! And it's HUGE!! They have everything here to include a big selection of clothing, tons of shoes for everyone, uniforms/uniform items, cosmetics, souvenirs, liquor, and of course fishing & hunting gear. Since I was visiting here from Japan I felt it would be a good time to replace & restock my fishing tackle. Little did I know I'd be able to do so on base because of their huge selection at good prices. I also found shoes I like, which is much harder than it sounds. I spent waaay more time in here than planned/intended, and I'm probably glad my wife wasn't with me(please don't tell her). This may be the largest and best MCX/PX/BX/NEX/whatever else your service may call it that I've been to. read more

This review is for the military family or service member. I have been to many different PX/MCX's all over the country including the AAFES (Army and Air Force) and the MCX (Marine Corps). I wish the MCX had the luxury prices of AAFES (including gas) but the system just isn't set up that way. Because there are limited USMC bases vs the abundance of Army and Air Force bases, gas is bought by the MCX at current prices. That is why the prices on base closely match prices out in town. Additionally, there are many similarities in price between out in town and at the MCX. However, there are a few things that I would like to point out that make the MCX a step ahead of the rest. There is a food court that has different choices (subway, wendy's, pizza, ice cream and my favorite panda express). This is a great place for Marines and Sailors to go grab chow, especially when in cammies. I also like the new updated look of the MCX. I remember when you had to go to two or three different stores just to get what you needed. I believe the uniform section is spectacular. Every time I come in to buy something, the section is always fully stocked. The uniform section also does a great job with mounting medals (beware if you need medals mounted for the ball, try to do it in advance). I don't shop much in the "pride" section but always see lots of different motivated clothes there for the family. The shoe department is lacking just a bit (the prices are a bit expensive and not as much of a selection as I would like to see). Another section of the store that has made leaps and bounds is the women's clothing. I was surprised in 2012 that there were only two or three racks of maternity clothes. Now it seems there is a whole section. I also like frequenting the baby section. It is small but seems to always have everything I need and then some. I don't really stop by the men's clothing either but many times in passing I will see name brand items such as hurley, fox, etc. I don't really know how the price compares to in town but sometimes it is hard to find those brands as they aren't sold at your local walmart. I am also a big fan that if you use a credit card, they check your ID. Summary: If you are looking for the lowest prices, not necessarily your place to shop. If you are looking for military convenience (not having to change out of cammies or needing uniform items) combined with civilian convenience (clothes, cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc), this is the perfect place for you. read more

This place is as good as it gets! They had everything you could possibly need for an active duty marine. They had a great selection on women's purses and wallets. They even had a 20% sale off of Michael Kors purses and wallets. They had a huge selection of clothing for women, men, and children. If I only I were a dependent again, I'd spend a fortune. Maybe it's a good thing I don't have an ID card anymore. LOL. read more
