I dealt directly with the owner, Dave McShane, who is a licensed Sea Fox dealer. He reached out to…read moreme on having a trolling motor installed on my 2023 Sea Fox 2280 Commander as he was referred by M&M Marine where I recently purchased the boat. He told me he would look into the types of trolling motors that are most commonly installed and would get back to me. He never did this, told me to bring the boat to his location, and that he would install a trolling motor. No estimates from him. He placed the onus on me to tell him the type of trolling motor. After several emails, where I included Sea Fox in the email threads, and also did research on my own and then recommended a product to him, he then refused my business and told me to go elsewhere. I have had boats well over 50 years and this is the worst experience I have ever encountered with a marine business that services boats.

Have to agree with reviews of Matt K and Will S. Not a good experience. I went there in 2022 to…read morelook at Sea Fox boats, which I first saw earlier in the year in Charleston, SC. Well built. Left because I found Dave McShane rude and condescending when answering my questions. I eventually found a 2019 Sea Fox in CT in excellent shape in spring of 2023 and bought it. But you need to get parts from your State's authorized dealer. Sea Fox will not take orders directly. I got a part last year from a young man on their staff, very nice, no issues. This year I called for a replacement T-top anchor light. Rosa McShane took my order and said she would have it shipped directly to my house, since I'm 70 miles roundtrip from their site, and it was an easy fix. She took my CC info and sent me an email saying it would be 2 weeks. 4 weeks later, no part, so I called and Rosa was 'sorry to hear that and she would talk to Sea Fox in Charleston when they (Sea Fox staff) return on Monday July 7th.' Not being able to go out at night fishing for the past month, and wanting to go out on the boat for the fireworks on July 4th, (hundreds of boats out, so an anchor light is a must, especially with the harbormaster!) I had my marina put in an OEM light on top of the T-top. Very nice, more solid than the original. I called Rosa and told her that, and that I wished to be refunded. She said I would need to get the part first and send it to them before I got a refund, but she would also check and see if Sea Fox sent it to them instead of me. Well I obviously had no part to send back (at my expense!), and would I ever get it? Turns out Sea Fox did send it to McShane Yacht Sales, so they had it, but never called me. I had to call after a month, then they looked around and found it. She said she could overnite it to me (my expense, and I already paid shipping), but I already had the new one. So it was In her possession anyway...but she told me Sea Fox charges them a $20 restocking fee and I'd have to pay that. I asked her why I would need to pay a $20 restock fee for a part I never received, and why wouldn't they be calling Sea Fox and asked for a waiver on it since Sea Fox screwed up, not me, nor McShane YS for that matter. She said she'd have Dave call me. Long story short, Dave McShane said I was being unreasonable fighting over $20. Wasn't he doing the same? Wouldn't he fight for a customer and tell Sea Fox they messed up and the customer, nor he the dealer should pay them $20 for their mistake? I was hoping so. Nope, he told me "You can call Trump!" (???). Today I got a refund check for the part LESS the $20. I'm tempted to go to Small Claims court, where McShane or Sea Fox Boats would also cover the $40.00 filing fee, and you can also get triple damages for an issue not resolved in 30 days. Dave M. told me 'fine, I have a piece of paper here that shows you ordered a Special order part from us'. So what? A light is a 'special order'? Doesn't matter what kind of order it is. I didn't get what i was promised in 2 weeks. He also said 'you can come down here and get your part', and that's when he hung up on me. But I'll just post this review here, and a few other sites as well. Lesson learned. Tom H

Only servicing Malibu boats under warranty. Except off season they will service your Malibu boat,…read moregive it back to customer broken with the same issues and charge you for all repairs. When you bring it to their attention, its not their problem and you can wait for several weeks for them to even consider looking at it. This is on a 2013 very well maintained boat in excellent condition. After bringing my boat in for service, I now have the original issue still not working and additional issues that were not a problem when i dropped it off. The bill was paid immediately once they said the boat was ready. Also, the kicker is they hang up the phone on customers, don't return calls and further patronize the service customers. Bottom line is that they don't warranty or honor their service repairs and from what I'm hearing now, there are quite a few people in the same situation.

Thank you for sending the invoice. (After a month of waiting)…read more I was pushing to get this because I stupidly never got an invoice cost when I got the call that the boat was ready. I simply gave them my credit cards number. I saw a charge of $4985.28 show up on my Discover account, which is more than double the amount that was provided to me in the estimate. Upon reviewing the bill, I see total charges of $400.38 for shrink wrapping. This equals $19.50 per foot. Before authorizing shrink wrapping, Brandon quoted me $16.00 per foot. The billed amount is an overcharge of more than $70.00! East Coast Flightcraft has exclusively performed ALL service on my boat. I bought the boat from them. I have been a loyal, if not excellent customer for 20 years. The last three years I have had issues with the service department. The service this year was terrible, and the estimate/quote/cost was deceptive. They have lost me as a customer. - Joe Lynch
