I dealt directly with the owner, Dave McShane, who is a licensed Sea Fox dealer. He reached out to me on having a trolling motor installed on my 2023 Sea Fox 2280 Commander as he was referred by M&M Marine where I recently purchased the boat. He told me he would look into the types of trolling motors that are most commonly installed and would get back to me. He never did this, told me to bring the boat to his location, and that he would install a trolling motor. No estimates from him. He placed the onus on me to tell him the type of trolling motor. After several emails, where I included Sea Fox in the email threads, and also did research on my own and then recommended a product to him, he then refused my business and told me to go elsewhere. Have to agree with reviews of Matt K and Will S. Not a good experience. I went there in 2022 to look at Sea Fox boats, which I first saw earlier in the year in Charleston, SC. Well built. Left because I found Dave McShane rude and condescending when answering my questions. I eventually found a 2019 Sea Fox in CT in excellent shape in spring of 2023 and bought it. But you need to get parts from your State's authorized dealer. Sea Fox will not take orders directly. I got a part last year from a young man on their staff, very nice, no issues. This year I called for a replacement T-top anchor light. Rosa McShane took my order and said she would have it shipped directly to my house, since I'm 70 miles roundtrip from their site, and it was an easy fix. She took my CC info and sent me an email saying it would be 2 weeks. 4 weeks later, no part, so I called and Rosa was 'sorry to hear that and she would talk to Sea Fox in Charleston when they (Sea Fox staff) return on Monday July 7th.' Not being able to go out at night fishing for the past month, and wanting to go out on the boat for the fireworks on July 4th, (hundreds of boats out, so an anchor light is a must, especially with the harbormaster!) I had my marina put in an OEM light on top of the T-top. Very nice, more solid than the original. I called Rosa and told her that, and that I wished to be refunded. She said I would need to get the part first and send it to them before I got a refund, but she would also check and see if Sea Fox sent it to them instead of me. Well I obviously had no part to send back (at my expense!), and would I ever get it? Turns out Sea Fox did send it to McShane Yacht Sales, so they had it, but never called me. I had to call after a month, then they looked around and found it. She said she could overnite it to me (my expense, and I already paid shipping), but I already had the new one. So it was In her possession anyway...but she told me Sea Fox charges them a $20 restocking fee and I'd have to pay that. I asked her why I would need to pay a $20 restock fee for a part I never received, and why wouldn't they be calling Sea Fox and asked for a waiver on it since Sea Fox screwed up, not me, nor McShane YS for that matter. She said she'd have Dave call me. Long story short, Dave McShane said I was being unreasonable fighting over $20. Wasn't he doing the same? Wouldn't he fight for a customer and tell Sea Fox they messed up and the customer, nor he the dealer should pay them $20 for their mistake? I was hoping so. Nope, he told me "You can call Trump!" (???). Today I got a refund check for the part LESS the $20. I'm tempted to go to Small Claims court, where McShane or Sea Fox Boats would also cover the $40.00 filing fee, and you can also get triple damages for an issue not resolved in 30 days. Dave M. told me 'fine, I have a piece of paper here that shows you ordered a Special order part from us'. So what? A light is a 'special order'? Doesn't matter what kind of order it is. I didn't get what i was promised in 2 weeks. He also said 'you can come down here and get your part', and that's when he hung up on me. I can not say enough good things about Dave, Rosa, as well as Chris Greland their service manager. We bought a new boat from them earlier this year. The whole process was without issue and seamless. Dave actually called in a favor for me with a friend of his to make me an even happier customer. Everything delivered was on time, at the price quoted, and was per my expectations. Disregard the negative reviews of their operation. All you need to do is look at the posters review history. Not happy people. read more

I can't say enough GREAT things about Dave and McShane Yacht Sales. First, Dave, the Owner of the company answers his phone any time and every time you call him. I'm an out of state customer and Dave took the time after hours to Face Time call taking me through every detail of the boat I was looking to buy. He not went the extra mile to show me the boat; he gave me a deal on the boat that most dealers would never even consider. I just read Dave McShane's response and he lies through his keyboard, again. No, the other invoice I sent was NOT "several thousand below invoice" - there was still a decent profit-margin for the selling dealer as he straight-up showed me what he paid. The facts remain that Dave McShane is dishonest, rude, spiteful and will probably be out of business soon (there is a reason Crownline dropped him as a dealer)! I encourage others to look elsewhere when purchasing a boat - why purchase a boat from a dealer that won't be around to service it in the next few years?! read more

Do Not buy from this guy. Very rude like others have said. Drove over an hour and no one there till 9:10am when doors should be open at 830am. About to leave so figured Id look in the display boat they had outside and he finally pulled up and told me to get out of the boat and then used his famous line "Do you have a check to be in that boat?" All I was doing was measuring to make sure my trolling motor would fit so I can finalize my decision but this bad attitude guy ruined that deal. Good luck if you shop there. Now Dave has responded 3months later with lies. The boat was not customer owned at the time and it was on "display" at the boat show after I was in it with the same scratches I noticed when I was at his shop. He also did not apologize when I was there and still hasn't. He saw me at the boat show in that same boat and I figuring he would apologize then but nope he turned his head and kept walking. While the two previous post talk about personality I want to talk about product and service. Dave and Rosa run a small family owned company and offer some benefits you may nor receive with other dealers. Direct contact with the decision maker. I first bought a used boat 24' CC and 2 years later was looking to trade up to a 28' CC Dave gave me the exact value I paid for my ride in 2 years prior towards my new 288. We made a deal Dave is a tough negotiator but after that we have had a great relationship as he has maintained my boat and has hit all the dates I have requested for delivery and so on. Rates are reasonable and as I said sometimes its priceless to be able to call the owner directly on his cell phone when you are in a pinch out on the water which has also happened. I would buy another boat from Rosa and Dave absolutely. read more
