It looked beautiful, well presented with lovely garnishes. To come down the basics the Burnt Orange Fish Pie was nothing to rave about. It was lovely but I have made something similar on a Sunday night as a light meal. Maybe I just have good taste, ha. My companion had the salmon, needed more cooking, It shouldn't be raw in the middle. Further down the table one lass had the steak. It looked great but the shoestring fries were burnt. Maybe I am being a little critical but for expensive prices you need excellence. The cheapest wine was $44 a bottle. We had two bottles, red and white. Doesn't go too far with 6 people celebrating a birthday. Glad we had the birthday cake with everyone at the birthday girl's home. Then the champagne came out.

This is a good family place and that's their target market. My only advice is to choose your lunch companions carefully. They don't split bills. I came for a catch up with "family friends". A mix of oldies, parents with kids of varying ages and me. Groups of this demographic are very nickel and dimey so if you don't have the right cash it can get very complicated. We had the Eggs Benedict With Ham and the lunch special of Chicken Schnitzel. They were kind enough to offer the lunch menu to us even though it was before 1130am. The eggs had nice runny yolks. The schnitzel was nice and crispy on the outside with tender chicken in the middle. We had the Iced Mocha, Mocha, and Chai Latte to drink. The coffee was Grinders Coffee and tasted great. It was all beautifully presented. We finished off with a Lemon Delicious Tart. The pastry was crumbly and the filling was nice and smooth without being too sweet. I had a different friend visiting a few weeks later (in my industry I have a lot of friends passing through town) and decided to try the same thing again. We got there at around the same time and were told they were closing early again due to some other disaster! I had three unlucky breaks with visiting Salina, and each time I saw people sitting there so they must exist outside my imagination- but my voucher expired and I never got to use it on the corn fritters I was eyeing off. So this is an anti-review but I felt my three non-event attempts deserved some sort of write-up.
