Every time OHLQ lists Marino's as having an allocated bourbon and I ask, they shake their heads and say "No." When Joseph's is listed as having the same thing I can get a bottle. Joseph's takes care of me so I buy my many more bottles of regularly available bottles from them. Why should I spend my money at a store which allows me nothing more than common stuff? read more

I wanted to use this site for restaurant reviews only, but I would be doing the world a disservice by not exclaiming the greatness of Marino's Beverage Depot. The beer, wine, and spirits selection in this place is massive--and it's all packed into a fairly small space. However, the organization of Marino's makes it easy to navigate. I don't know if it's the ceramic tiled floors or the fact that they have a humidor for cigars, but this Sylvania gem just seems upscale. Eli, the owner, and his family work hard to keep the place stocked and clean. He knows my wife and I, and always is pleasant. They make it easy to support local business. I have refrained from shopping at the Andersen's as of late, mostly for political reasons, but I'd go out on a limb and say that Marino's rivals the selection at the Andersen's. They have such a great selection of booze I often have trouble picking what I want! read more

Marino's is an adult beverage wonderland! The selection here is outrageous! If you have a need, they are sure to be able to fill it. If you want to explore something new and adventurous, they'll take care of that too. Just the vodka wall alone is a veritable rainbow of choices of brands and flavors, from old staples, to handcrafted labels, and everything from trendy whipped cream flavors to oddball bacon vodka! I have always recommended Marino's to anyone looking for some great craft beer because ther selection is superior to any other store in this area. Unfortunately when carrying such a large selection you run the risk of not turning over product regularly. I recently bought a six pack of one of my favorite beers and when I opened it and tasted it, it tasted off. The date on the bottles was over a year ago so this product that Marino's was selling was last years seasonal batch. It was not marked down and I paid full price for beer that I thought was fresh. So it is a great selection but know that some of the beer has been sitting there awhile. read more

The craft beer selection is very good but the service is poor A lot of the 6 packs aren't even labelled with a price, I don't know how they expect me to buy anything when I cant even tell how much it costs. The last time I was in the store I walked up to the counter and saw some kid who barely looked old enough to sell beer squatting down on the floor staring at his phone until his mommy had to tell him there was a customer standing right in from of him. Today I went to get a 6 pack that I've had my eye on just after 9 when they are supposed to open, yet when I got there the door was locked, the lights were off and nobody was inside. If you cant even be bothered to open the store during the posted hours maybe you shouldn't be running a business. You just lost a customer. read more

The manager of this establishment made disparaging comments about the LGBTQ community in front of customers. When both the manager and owner were contacted via phone to discuss the matter, they were rude and hung up on two different occasions. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

This is my favorite liquor store in Toledo. I live in Maumee and will drive out of my way just to come here. It is a huge store with plenty of selections. The staff is very friendly and have always helped me to my car without even asking. It is that kind of service that will make you feel like you are part of the family and not just a random customer. Pretty good selection of beer. I prefer Joseph's, but it pulls up a close 2nd place to it. Has a walk in cooler as well with a duplicate selection of beer. Large selection of liquor as well, but that's not exactly the area that I shop in. Prices were average. No sales, but no jacked up prices. I don't recommend going here to pick up your Natty or Bud Light, but if you actually want good beer, check it out. read more

THIS IS THE MECCA OF BEER. You walk in and one whole side of the store is beer and they have a full walk in room that's almost the width of the store filled with domestic, international, and craft beer selections. One thing I absolutely love about this place is that you are allowed to break up packs of beer and buy one of whatever you want. They ring it up at the counter and you're good to go. For someone who likes to try all kinds of beer but not want to commit to a 4-6 pack that I may not like, this is fantastic. They have so many options of all kinds of craft beer. It's wonderful. I go here for the beer and not so much the liquor, but they have a decent section of liquor as well although I couldn't find some average (or what I thought were average) whiskeys in stock. I have purchased multiple, multiple bottles of regular bourbon at this store. I always check the OHLQ site for specialty bourbons for personal consumption from stores I frequent, Marion's being one of them. I stop in for desirable bottles of liquor that show up on the OHLQ web site being at this store when ever I'm in the area. You would think out of the numerous times I would get lucky just once and be able to purchase what has been allocated to their store. But always someone at store telling me not in stock, not been delivered or the last one was the OHLQ web site must have a glitch. There has never been one time that Joseph's Beverage or Paukens not have what was just posted on OHLQ's website. I've just had my last visit to Marino's for their lack of honesty and inability to be strait with the customers and just let them know that they only sell to certain people. Beside you only have to travel down the road a little ways to Joseph's to get a better selection with friendlier staff. My choice for now on will be Joseph's and Liquor Cabinet in Lambertville when on this end of Toledo. Thanks for nothing Marino's read more

It is nearly 2 years since the last review of this place so here it is: selection is just what you would expect of a liquor store, but the friendliness is the worst i've ever experienced. EVERY TIME i go there, there is always something that ruins my day. For example: some beer of $11ish was on sale for $8ish, and the guy with mustache at the cashier tried to charge me for the original 11ish price. It is hard to let it pass as an honest mistake because he almost said "8.56" then changed it to "11..." and only when i confronted him he corrected himself. He took my AmEx that day. Week later, I went and he said only Visa/Master. I said he took my AmEx before, but he only shook his head and gave no explanation. I dunno if I'm the only one getting this unfriendly and rude vibe, but after checking at home that I did use AmEx just last week, I will hate to go to that place. Products are fine, it's the people I have to do business with and they ruin my day every time. Actually, the youngest looking employee works hard and is friendly and helpful. I'm not sure about the bald guy. Either way, I really would not go there unless they are the absolutely the only place that has what I want. read more

As noted in other reviews, the store has an excellent selection of beer, wine, and liquor; the best selection of craft beers around. Also, it is close to home and has convenient hours of operation (open until 10pm). However, they're a little on the pricey side with many items. For example, you can get a 1 liter bottle of Captain Morgan for several dollars cheaper just over the Michigan border at Clip's, which is a little over a mile away. Also, the customer service is rather poor. Several times I've been treated rudely by the staff. Recently, I wanted a twelve pack of bottled ginger beer because I don't like cans and I wanted to save on cost per unit. When I inquired about this, the owner (a middle-aged female with an accent) told me to just buy two six packs of cans, and then made a demeaning expression; she treated me like an idiot. Obviously she doesn't understand that there are cost savings when buying in bulk and that drinking from a can is different from drinking from a bottle. Considering that I basically stick to simple, name-brand items, this incident has inspired me to shop elsewhere from now on. read more
